- In this adventure, Katy and Joshua head over to Nacogdoches Texas which is the oldest town in Texas. We start off with walking an old Caddo Indian walking trail where it is a lifeline of history for this historical little town.
My hometown! Ya’ll crack me up with your pronunciations. LaNana like banana and it’s Mar GIL like a fish gill. The “eyes” are the two holes where he struck the bank in two different places during the drought. Its kind of weird to us too. 😂 When you went into the Old Time String Shop - that used to be where Bonnie Parker of Bonnie and Clyde worked - it was a chili canning factory. Go to the Bosslight next time! Nice video. Ya’ll come back. ✌️
We’re always butchering pronunciation 🤦♂️🤦♀️ Thanks for the recommendation. We’ll definitely check it out next time we visit!
I never heard or read of Bonnie working in Nac and I've read up on them extensively because of their ties around here and up in Arkansas. I'll have to look into this. Thanks!!!!
@@DG-dy4tv oh yeah, Bonnie and Clyde were related somehow or another to folks I know who still live in town. I heard that Bonnie and Clyde frequently joined country family picnics on the old backroads of Nacogdoches and surrounding areas. ✌️
I really appreciate the casual tour of Nac that the two of you provide in this vid. I haven't been there yet, but am more willing to plan a trip now that I've seen this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
We have the original Stone Fort and some old houses from the fathers of the Republic of Texas. It's all rather low key. The tourist information center place downtown that used to be the old library... should have all the good information. The cemetery that is near downtown is worth a visit. I don't recall the oldest I found there, but like civil war era I think. One guy I found was buried with three wives, the dates are interesting...
Grew up thirty minutes away from Nacogdoches (Nac/San Augustine/Shelby County) for nearly 25 years and I have yet to explore all of what they have to offer!
It’s definitely one of our favorite small Texas towns!
Nice vid y’all! Makin me homesick for the South...
Gotta come back as soon as you can!
Love watching these videos
Thank you!
I like it...
Thank you!
Hermosa mujer❤
I went to lufkin Texas in 2019 and visited here. I liked this town but absolutely hated lufkin and will never go back
Yeah, Lufkin and Nac. have two very different vibes.
@@EastTexasCouple yes absolutely. It’s crazy how nice Nacogdoches is and when you get into Lufkin everything is so bad. It smells weird the people are very ghetto but Nac was not at all that way
Well, Lufkin hates you too 😜. Nacadoches is full of roaches!
That’s where I went to college! Axe Em Jacks! I love Nac 💜
I've lived here in Nac for 5 years now
That was where grow up at
Behind the Pine Curtain
I grew up fishing for perch in that creek 😄
Love fishing in creeks!
I was born and raised in Nacogdoches and I apparently have deep, deep roots. My 5 times great grandfather is Hayden Edwards, one of the founders of Nacogdoches! I never knew, Ancestry DNA!
Wow! That is deep roots!
I live there
We love your city!
@@EastTexasCouple thanks 😊
Yeah but is it older than Chapeltown, lad?
Chapeltown?
It's in reference to some trash talk that involved hometown hero Clint Dempsey in a soccer match in 2007 th-cam.com/video/KPhVa7fUy0w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HtwPQEDyy7AwIMdN
Presedio is actually the oldest town in Texas!

border with Spain and France in 1776
Don’t go here. It’s sad and irrelevant.
not for everyone, but we had a good time
How is it sad and irrelevant?
