Excellent! It's sad that those families were told their son were killed in a training exercise, when in fact were killed in action. Those families deserved more respect. Great work!

Not just that. The doctors and nurses were threatened with court martial if they even dared to speak with the wounded.

@@ww2-epicbattles That's unspeakable evil to do that, especially to nuses and doctors with no agenda. Put on earth to save lives, not to take them. Doctors see more pain and suffering than any general seeking fame amoung ranks. Respect to you brother for highlighting this and exposing it, a lot to think about 🤔 Keep doing the Lord's work!

@@IrishTechnicalThinker No. If they had told the families it would have given away secrets of D Day. And if the Germans had gotten info D Day would have been disastrous.

My grandfathers Jesse B Davis (4th ID 8th IR) and Benjamin F Compton (4th ID 12th IR) landed on Utah Beach with the 4th on that day. They both fought all of the way until the end of the war and made it home.

I'm writing a book about a fictional soldier who fought in the 47th Infantry Regiment, and this helped me with my research on his actions. He would have gone to Morroco in Operation Torch and Utah beach in D Day. In reality, he would not have participated in the Invasion of Sicily, but i'm doing it anyway. If anyone has reletives or them themselves fought in any of those three battles, leave a comment. Anything helps!

I remember watching a video with a Greek vetran from the battle of Rimini , called Zahos Xatzifotiou ( he became a famous journalist after the war ) , but youtube removed it . I also remember that i had found a russian website with the video reupload there , but now i forgot its name . Zahos is still alive btw possible one of the last Greek surviving veterans of the war , including the resistance fighters of course .

@@jacqueline6475 oh.... That makes sense. Since a year ago I've read the rise and fall off the third Reich. The various numbers of casualties throughout the war, even though likely inflated to a degree coming from largely Nazi sources, are astronomical. I'm still stunned by the massive piles of bodies left behind.
