Your work is Brilliant! I've spent a lot of time in Normandy and you give fantastic context to some of the sites I've visited. I was in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Incredible experience. Looking forward to your next piece!
I say this a lot, because it is something I have pride in. My grandfather stormed Juno with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders on D-Day. Was an awesome man with an awesome sense of humor. Rest in peace, grampie.

Your superimposition of the videos is extremely impressive and extremely valuable when watching the current day video. Thank you for your efforts. In the photo of Easy Company in front of the memorial, 80 years ago the words on the stone were legible. They weren’t in the current photo. Interesting.
The Wife surprised me with the Ambrose Historical Tours BoB tour in 2019, what a blast. As you state, the church prominent in the village but it is also a little special because of the shape of its steeple. Most are more pointed or slopped but this one is rounded and was noted to the soldiers to help identify their objective. I'm sure you are aware and maybe covered it in another video, but the battle did spill into the church. There was a German soldier hiding in a confessional when the Americans came in. He must have sneezed, there are still bullet holes in the door... Thanks for another great video!
First time viewing your now & then posts as of yesterday so I thought I’d explore your channel & you certainly haven’t disappointed me. It’s refreshing, haunting & extremely emotional to see something very different than what’s mostly available about WW2 & the holocaust! They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them. Lest we forget, lest we forget.
The main soldier in the thumbnail is David Kenyon Webster. He served in Easy company in the 101st airborn Division and he's featured in the show band of brothers.

Ironic really - to have survived some of the deadliest battles in WW2 only to be killed by a fish, but at least he died doing something he really enjoyed, not during the war, which he hated - as he in fact also did the army.

Great video! I have visited that region and that town last summer. The two battle scenes were unknown for me until now. But I doubt, that at around 9.30 the Germans wanted to execute the Paratrooper, therefore they didn't have to leave their hidden position. How often have you been to Normandy already? Have you plans about further larger buildings/facilities/regions in that manor?
I go to Normandy every couple of months and have done a few years now. Absolutely love it! The plan for the channel is to get to Belgium, Netherlands and Germany to cover wider WW2 events….shower I will always go to Normandy!
Back in those times, both photographic and those small movie cameras where usually using what's considered a "normal" lens. In terms of 35mm film cameras, that would be 50mm of focal length, and those lenses where a norm until about 70's. Of course there was also other lenses, but those where extremely rare at that time. These days, people are more prone to use wide angle lenses; for example, a default lens on your smartphone (at least until recently) has equivalent focal length of 28mm in 35mm film terms (that's a golden standard for us photographers), what makes it quite wide, while GoPro is using super wide or "fisheye" lens by default. So, you can align those pictures and footage perfectly, no problem, if you are shooting with a bit more advanced video or hybrid, lens interchangeable camera with a normal lens attached to it. Just saying...
Stupid me - I now see the name of the music at the bottom of the shorts, I have view many of the shots and a few vids. I get sad at seeing these as it reminds me of the countless lives lost in the sake of freedom. That’s a nice content, just don’t appreciate the Ukraine stuff… im writing it as a pole. Since the start we’ve tried to help them, giving them help, place to stay, our shit government even got them personal numbers or whatever you cal an id number that every Polish citizen has. We have gave them tons of money and armourment.. nevertheless they come to Poland from parts of Ukraine where the war didn’t even got close to taking advantage of all our help.. they sit at their free houses, getting free money, driving to the mountains, sea side having a blast on holidays where we poles work and pay taxes so the government can pay them benefits… recently there has been a huge flood in Poland that wiped out a multiple towns, villages, fields, all was flooded and there was not a single bus coming from Ukraine to help, nothing, not even a simple word from them instead they have been robbing gas stations, houses, shops after the flood went a bit down, google it there has been videos recorded.
