I'm a man in my 50s. I was apparently quite a singing talent as a child. I often performed solo for large crowds. I quit at 10 because I couldn't stand the pressure placed on me by my parent, and the jeers of my young friends. I haven't sung publicly for decades. Morgan, after discovering you recently, I've decided to take up singing lessons to not let my talent - whatever level it is - go to complete waste before I die. Thank you for inspiring me.

Excuse me for interrupting your already scheduled program, but pursuing your videos of the many covers you’ve performed over the years I’ve noticed an omission of one artist to your list. This particular track seems to be gaining in a resurgence in interest to the rock geezers aka Baby Boomers. This song is Angel by Jimi Hendrix. Is there legal issues which prohibits you from performing it, because it’s known how tight fisted his siblings are with his library, and sharing it with the public. Love your video's but after 2 minutes of adverts, I got fed up for waiting for the content to start so I've gone elsewhere.
Brilliant move on TH-cam's part, they have now turned the website into CBS network in that there are more adverts in people's content than there is content! Which of course is bad news for high hitters on here because people get fed up with watching an ad that takes a minute to say what could be easily said in ten seconds, so they go find videos without adds! Which can only help those of us who were quite happy slowly building up our earnings with the content we produce, and after 10 years work, have the rug pulled out from under our feet when we actually got within touching distance of seeing some cash. Hopefully TH-cam's latest plan will send our views sky high and increase our subscribers to the point where we might get our bit of the cherry. I expect that should that happen, TH-cam will once again move the goal posts.
TH-cam is trying to force people to pay for premium, but there are free ad blockers if you search. I despise the “ads” that run between 3minutes to over an hour. They are not ads. They are paid presentation pieces and should be classified separately.

First time I heard this song was watching "The Commitments" ... a long time ago (trying no to age myself). Loved the song then .. love it now! I discovered Morgan James on Postmodern Jukebox a few weeks ago .. and I have been a huge fan of hers ever since. I love how she puts so much emotion into her songs. Best version of this song that I've ever heard!

Penn recalled to Mojo magazine January 2008 how they came to write this song: "Me and Chips were in a poker game, and we took a break and went back to our room. And there was a guitar and we started the song. I wrote it as far as I could and handed it to him and we finished it up really fast. It was maybe a year before James Carr recorded it. And the reason James Carr got it was because he was next. That's the way they used to get the songs in Memphis, whoever was next got the next song.
