As far as I know, Tainted remedy for double lethal is a tie because lifegain isn't a trigger and tainted remedy replaces it with life loss. This means that there is no point where state based actions are checked where only one player has 0 or less life.
Hmmm, good to know...yeah i didn't think it went on the stack but thought one my happen before the other which i guess technically is true, but like you said, it's not having 0 life that kills you, it's having 0 life and state based actions check finishing.
@@ryorai5804 Same principle as if your attacked for lethal but have lifelink on a blocker and would gain enough to be above zero when damage is calculated. Lifelink is checked in the same moment that damage is dealt. Replacement effect like Tainted remedy work similarly in that there is no moment between the action and the replacement. So being dealt twenty damage by a lifelinker with tainted remedy would cause them to lose 20 life as damage is dealt in this case both players life would be at or below zero after damage and it would happen at the same moment so the game ends in a draw.
13:50 at this point you have lethal in hand, because quakebringer triggers in the graveyard if you have a giant in play. Play a quakebringer, discard a quakebringer to hand size, deal 4 on upkeep.
6:30 I believe it's a draw if they have the equipment to make lethal since Remedy is a replacement effect so it doesn't use the stack. Still a hilarious lethal in this case.
I would have expected some card that does something good for you but gains the opponent life but nope, just a rakdos midrane deck with a bunch of anti life gain...love it :)
I think this emphasizes why The One Ring will be banned in multiple formats. I'm predicting Commander and Legacy will be all that it survives in...but then even Legacy won't put up with this and it'll just be Commander. Seriously Sheoldred should never get the One Ring. She easily could have survived Elesh Norn.
That's the problem, when you play anti lifegain no lifegain opponents out there, when you play basic land replacement no belcher decks appear, when you play anti wizards no wizard decks are to be seen, when you play aggro then you only see lifegain. Arena's matchmaking is a huge troll.
Oh boy, I DO love me some life gain hate. I have a 1-of Knight of Dusk's Shadow in most of my decks just for fetching with Fiend Artisan to punish soul sisters.
Arena is this weird place where Lifegain is a tier 3 deck, played at tier 0 amounts of play, so that hating specifically on the 43rd best historic deck is actually viable.
I've been playing Seth's turbo fog deck and the matchups against the life gain decks take sooo much time. It's amazing until I mill their Gaea's Blessing and then I cry.
The second match opponent majorly punted when they dropped Boseiju as a land instead of getting rid of your Tainted Remedy. They would have at the very least survived a bit longer
This made me so damn happy i was losin it this episode lmao. Next to jodah players this was the greatest sweet revenge to watch for me. Watchin people hover over tainted pact while they presumably spit out their drink had me.dying
To be clear, both lifelink and Tainted Remedy are replacement effects and don't lose the stack. If an opponent attacks you with a lifelink creature that will bring you to 0 or less, and they'd gain enough life to bring themselves to 0 or less, then both players will end up being at 0 or less at the same time and the game will end in a draw.
I feel like you should have kept bishop of wings on the battlefield for them. Doesn't it make a win condition for you if you have a tainted pact?.. I think it's the workhorse in their deck tho. So I don't blame you for removing it.
I started of playing magic over 20 years ago with shitty lifegain decks couldn't actually do anything so I will always have a soft spot in my heart for life gain strats. Sorry.

@@Unfinishedthoughts No moreso just that this seemed random.
@@ryorai5804It was asked by Crim in the match vs equipments
This is what crim was playing the first time i checked out his stream. Really set the tone
Seeing "lifegain" in the title made my heart drop for a moment-could crim be a traitor to the cause?-but it's _HUNTING_ lifegain. Phew.
Game 2's "Colossus Hammer into I lose" combo!! So strong! Must nerf.
Crim dunking on Lifegain out of pure spite Is almost peak Crim...we just need a Bolas Card and some blue mana.
This was one of my favorite streams. Absolute pure, unadulterated spite
After that werewolf game
You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the lifegain, not join them!
13:50 at this point you have lethal in hand, because quakebringer triggers in the graveyard if you have a giant in play. Play a quakebringer, discard a quakebringer to hand size, deal 4 on upkeep.
alternatively crim could just play shelly ping with doom and thats 3 dmg
Life gain is the bane of my home brews. It’s the only deck that is constant reminder to up my removal package
That match against Werewolves was amazing. Sheoldred + One Ring + Fable means you're just playing a completely different game from your opponent.
6:30 I believe it's a draw if they have the equipment to make lethal since Remedy is a replacement effect so it doesn't use the stack. Still a hilarious lethal in this case.

@@ryorai5804 Hm?
@@sy-py Idk just seemed random
edit: missed were Crim asked, mb
14:30 he scooped cause he didn’t gain the life XD
Gotta love people not understanding how primal command works
"The game has blessed me with another land" worst blessing
Crim's decks formed from pure spite are the best decks
2 minutes in and he's already just "Guess I'll block a soul warden, even though this is the entire point of my hyperfocused deck". Very smart play
You had me at lifegain
Edit: oh
Seems like the bait worked, we caught ourselves a lifegainer boys
get 'em boys!
Crim just be out here looking for specific matchups like a predator out for prey 😂

They're not banning the marquee card of a marquee set. They will ban Sheoldred and other enablers before they ban The One Ring.
This is the content I subscribed for. Lifegain should be outlawed
13:50 why not have mt doom deal 1 damage to them putting them to 2, and play sheoldred, shell do 2 damage to them on their draw killing them

you should do a black white deck with tainted remedy, false cure and force them to gain life with things like swords to ploughshares and invigorate
Crim really woke up and decided to attack the meta, we stan
Lifegain decks are incredibly boring and low skill.
So I support dumping on them.
As a lifegain hater, this is absolutely beautiful.
I've been playing Seth's turbo fog deck and the matchups against the life gain decks take sooo much time. It's amazing until I mill their Gaea's Blessing and then I cry.
Back here again, WHAT IS THIS SONG?! SUCHA BOP
fucking same I've tried to find it!
I believe Crim mixes his own tunes.
It's even funnier when Swords to plowshares is on Arena and you can burn someone out with Tainted Remedy out with that lol
this was so satisfaying

Yeah... so this was cathartic
Do this but for the wizard deck
Second to last game: You became the thing you swore to destroy

Tainted Remedy + Heliod's Intervention = Instant speed win... Thoughts?
Blue red draw counterspell and what else?
Oi, You stay away from my life gain. I'm not doing anything wrong just assuring my survival...and gaining lots of angels and plus 1 counters >~>
I have to say Crim and Qwazzar77 are the closest mtg TH-camrs to my play style. Just make your opponents so miserable they scoop lmao.
Crim has inspired me: Time to make an *Angel of Destiny* / *Tained Remedy* deck...Hey! There it is; "Tainted Destiny"!!
10/10 stream
The opponent that was on 3 life I would've cast sheoldred and use the land to do 1 damage to each opponent
If I’m playing lifegain and the first spell my opponent plays is maindeck tainted remedy, I’m switching to Hearthstone
NOW THIS IS THE GREATEST DECK OF ALL TIME I FUCKING HATE LIFEGAIN SO MUCH
hammer boi likes cats not reading lol
Just wait until they put Swords to Plowshares on Arena...
Would love this without the one ring
My kind of deck
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Lifegain decks are the quintessential children's toy. I loved them when I was 12, but it's hard to see adults still playing with them.
These decks are incredibly stale, just one ring and sheoldreds, not very enteraining.
