There is little space between phrases. That’s why Adam Lambert said he wonders where she breathes in that song. There isn’t much space to breathe. And it’s not even just the melisma, but the verses don’t have much spaces between them.
Adam Lambert was in a separate challenge which didn't affect the scores. Basically a guest performer. Yellow, the guy with his head in his hands, was Faouzia's competitor and finished 2nd in this round. As others have mentioned, Faouzia won this round. Competitors are in comfy sofas and chairs backstage, so that's who you see in the brightly lit areas. The non-Chinese performers have a personal translator/assistant assigned to them. The girl behind Lambert was his translator. Regardless of the outcomes of the competition, she is gaining notice around the world with this set of performances. And more to come!
@@damhood2033 to me it's about making sure a reactor experiences an artist at their best, especially if they're not familiar with them. There are SOOO many artists out there to react to, so if there's someone I'd really like them to do a deep dive on (like Faouzia), I don't want them to have any reason to not be as impressed as they should or could be.
So glad to see you react to this recommendation 🥹 I agree with you, nobody could replicate this performance as Faouzia does. This was the third week she performed on the show and she got 1st place. Would be great to see you react to the other 4 performances so far and the next ones to come (every Friday comes a new episode).
@@roumaissabensedira5829 thanks for that info. I'm no expert on north African styles, I just know she has Moroccan heritage. Do you know the origins of this style? Does it come from the Berber peoples? Either way, it's beautiful 🙂
@@richeswebcraft Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Lybia have different music styles but also have some similarities. You should check each country's music styles and believe me you'd be blown away. This style (the part that Faouzia sang) can be classified as Rai music which is an Algerian music style as the original singer is actually a Rai singer
The amount of flying around she does is crazy... It reminds me of a song called De Plata by Rosalia where I wonder the same thing, where do they have time to take a breath hahaha
easily becoming one of my favorite vocal coaches!! perfect everything! and i watch literally a ton of vocal coaches' reactions and yours have been so entertaining. greatgreatgreat, love your facial expressions xD
That was insanely challenging. Living up to Whitney Houston, even her relatively easier songs have allowed of belting and transitions and range to show. Not to mention getting that emotive ability demonstrated during an up-tempo song is not easy.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on her performance last week of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" - it's totally different than anything I've ever seen her do. Spectacular vocals of course and she was having so much fun...but it only landed her in 3rd place.
She did a stellar job, but the song wasn't a great match for her voice. .It didn't showcase what she can do. Haha, I almost got the feeling that her and Chante Moore switched their songs. One vocal coach said "you would rate that performance a 10 out of 10.....but it was weird".
Hello “online singing coach”…..I love your videos!! And perspective!! I’m curious……I’m amazed at Fouzia’s voice and performance and wonder why I don’t get goose bumps like I do with Sydnie Christmas?? Just curious because Fouzia is amazing…Also I don’t find myself rewatching and rewatching as I did either Sydnie?

Faouzia does a beautiful job of this its not easy to cover a song when you have to make for two singers. Putri also did a version of similar ilk, but in full voice pushing her limits also fantastic. In this one Putri does an mazing job perhaps the best I have ever heard. PUTRI ARIANI - I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU (LIVE PERFORM) WHITNEY HOUSTON COVER
This is Faouzia's Desert Rose 3.0. Her renditions of the song from three years ago are equally exceptional. If you compare Putri's rendition to Faouzia's, I believe Faouzia's versions are superior in terms of vocal quality and techniques. And I' think she's heard Faouzia's, as well as some of Faouzia songs, such as Minefields
It's the Moroccan voice. 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦

All her live performances on singer 2024 are spectacular👌 You should check them all out.
Except set fire to the rain by Adele 😅, but she really should react to her Whitney Huston cover 🖤

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand
I dream of fire
These dreams that tie two hearts that will never die
Near the flames
The shadows play in the shape of the man's desire
This desert rose
Whose shadow bears the secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this
And now she turns
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
This fire burns
I realize that nothing's as it seems
I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand
I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
The rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of love
