    Fantastic video very informative loved the elevating stand idea too as a wood turner burning my logo into the bottom of bowls is what I am planning on doing and the adjustable stand is perfect

      Thanks for your comment Colin. I appreciate your feedback and likeminded use of the laser machine. I do like the precision of the laser over a branding iron for logo work on timber…. Also less guess work using the laser and ability to repeat if not satisfied with the first pass!

      Thank you for your kindness Jennerism 😊 the SF is my preferred all rounder module 👍 perfect for engraving and effortlessly cutting through 3mm acrylic and pine ply!! All the best with the laser journey 😁

    One question.
    This can help me for to engrave in metal like silver or gold?

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! Unfortunately no, diode engravers really only remove the layer of anodized paint on metal if it is anodized!! It can also head up some thin metals to change colour such as stainless steel! You would have to buy a very expensive laser to etch/engrave raw metal. Alternatively a small desktop CNC with a v bit would engrave most metals with ease!

    I really like the mount and rack idea. I was wondering what is the size of the rack? Is there a link to it at Walmart? I did get the starter set. Nice designs. The tool holder sold me to get it. I'm a stickler on keeping the tools handy

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Steve 😁 unfortunately I don’t have a link for the rack at Walmart however I’m sure that you would find one anywhere that sells baking products. The rack I have is approx 200mm * 300mm. I’m toying with another laser bed idea at the moment and might release as another video. Thanks for your support Steve 👍

    Im new to lasers and im trying to figure out which one to get, your video was very helpful. My main medium that I work with is chipboard, I've use some standard cutting machines but they are too slow and I thinking a laser would be a better option moving forward. Will this laser let me cut chipboard and perhaps one day upscale to some softer woods?...which head would be the best?...thanks for you feedback

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment Shae! If your looking at investing in a good cutting laser module I would probably go for the Aufero/Ortur 10W laser module. This module cuts through 4mm pine ply at 200mm/min and is very clean. If that module is out of your price range, the LU2-4SF Module is a really nice all rounder module for engraving and cutting 3mm material however half the speed of the 10w module. I hope this helps 👍👍

    How do you home this machine and tell it where the work piece is located? It does not have switches, right? Great video, thanks!

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for you comment! Yes this Aufero laser 1 does have limit switches… they are both located in the corner closest to the control board (where you plug it in!) - this is also the ‘front’ of the cutting area.
      I setup in lightburn but I can’t remember off the top of my head what exact settings I used. I can find out later today if you need? I would have a play with variations of homing settings and have a test file that cuts the letter ‘f’ to check you haven’t accidentally flipped the orientation. If you setup wrong, the letter will come out flipped!
      If you are referring to the Aufero laser 2 machine… that one does not have limit switches and must disable homing. Thank you 😊

      @@NEWTechCreative Thanks for the info! I appreciate you offering to check those settings. I think I figured out what I was looking for. I'll comment again if I'm lost :) Thanks!

    If you use the LF laser but only cutting 3mm MDF, do you need to connect it to an air pump?

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question @Alyssa Moleski . I haven’t had a chance to try 3mm MDF, however I think the LF should handle 3mm without air assist no problem. I can try tomorrow if you would like and send results?

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alyssa, I have tested 3mm MDF today and it is preferred to use the air assist for cutting. I had a clean cut at 100% power and 2.5mm/sec 1pass. Thank you

    i dont currently own a laser however i am interested in getting one...what i want to do is
    to use a laser to cut a pocket into wood so i can then inlay silver wire into the pocket.
    can this laser do that..?

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question @squidskunk . The only way to achieve this with a laser cutter is to use thin layers that you can cut through layer by layer then laminate together. I would probably look into a desktop CNC machine for this application!!

      @@NEWTechCreative okay cool. Wasn’t listed. Thank you!
      Can you make it w this laser cutter?

    • @NEWTechCreative
      @NEWTechCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume your referring to the Aufero laser 1 stand? If so, yes absolutely - however you will require a larger laser cutting area than the Aufero laser 1. The dxf is a 2D file that can be used with both laser and milling and any thickness of material. I suppose you could cut out with the Aufero laser 1 section by section if you can figure out how to achieve this!
