For such a brutal, bloody, and hatred filled game to have such beautiful and emotionally draining scenes. This series seriously is a masterpiece to go down in history.
No kidding! Despite the games hate I actually like it a lot. Part 1 was about love . Part 2 about hate and revenge. Part 3 I’m guessing might be about forgiveness and redemption either that or do new characters from scratch with a few Easter eggs and maybe cameos from the previous parts.

I have not played part 2, but this gives me chills. This character portraits this song exactly as one who lives in a world like this would sing it. The emotions, the imperfections, the sadness... omg. So good!
Ashley Johnson is so talented. The way her voice cracks and you can feel her pain as she sings "Slowly learning that life is okay/ Is no better to be safe than sorry". She is singing this to Dina, to Joel to herself. It's freaking great.
This isn't even her at her best! I heard that Ashley actually had to work with a vocal coach to learn how to sing worse in order to represent Ellie's youth and how she isn't a trained singer

@@norbertohernandez606 Emotionally ? Without a doubt. This game was soul crushingly realistic with its realistic standards and expectactions of human beings. People actually think what happened to joel was wrong / wouldnt have really happened? He goes and kills one of the biggest (known) groups of survivors who actually seem to be good guys and help people out, and then kill the one known person who can make a CURE? If anything - he would have been hunted down sooner. And the reveal of ellie knowing all along that she could have been the cure was indeed one of the most emotional moments in any game, and infact, if you go back and play NG+ you realise the small bits of dialogue / bits in scenes that point to it. The games story is amazing - people dont like the whole Abby thing cos they get pissed that other human beings would exist and have their own complex emotions?
I love how Ellie is usually pretty rough and abrasive and a total badass but when she sings this song her voice is so soft 🥰 similar to how Joel speaks to Ellie in a softer voice 💔
yeah I feel like they soften up and they show their sensitive side to someone they really trust, which is really hard to find it in a deadly world like that!
It’s Ellie realizing that she liked and learned this song when she was younger because she related to the lyrics on a deep emotional level. Both her coming to terms with wanting to sacrifice her life and having Joel force her to keep on living. Combined with her own insecurities about never thinking that she is good enough for Dina. It’s really tragic foreshadowing.
@@alynwillams4297 If you think about it, the main characters are ripped of thier characteristics they had and they try to get those political correct ideals all into one game without any basis or deeper exploration.

Had to come back here after the Last of Us HBO trailer. Great song choice
I remember Neil saying in a tweet this was the last scene they recorded. Such a beautiful scene.

The emotions, the imperfections, the sadness... omg. So good!
Already know I’m gonna cry when Bella Ramsey does this scene
Ashley Johnson is so talented. The way her voice cracks and you can feel her pain as she sings "Slowly learning that life is okay/ Is no better to be safe than sorry". She is singing this to Dina, to Joel to herself. It's freaking great.
There needs to be an Oscar category for best acting in a video game and Ashley Johnson deserves the first one for tlou2
This isn't even her at her best! I heard that Ashley actually had to work with a vocal coach to learn how to sing worse in order to represent Ellie's youth and how she isn't a trained singer
❤️ absolutely truth
i thought Ellen Page played Ellie
zayn riasat nope she plays the character from Beyond 2 Souls

Its amazing how Ashley Johnson is both an actress and a singer
the guitar playing is incredibly realistic. she actually plays the right chords and picks the right strings with the right technique. even the imperfections are purposefully added in the playing.
Nothing is added. It's all motion capture. You are hearing and seeing someone play the song, just transposed into the game.

Naughty Dog : so how many times we should add the breaking heart moments?
Druckmann : yes

Not only Druckmann worked at this game... he shouldn't take all the praise, or the opposite... he had some idead that have been changed by his team... because they actually talk to each other and Druckmann cares about their opinion! :)

I’ve never, ever, EVER been so emotional whilst playing a game before. And I don’t think any other game will ever top this one.
You're actually saying that Part II Is better than the First? You're actually lying..
The games story is amazing - people dont like the whole Abby thing cos they get pissed that other human beings would exist and have their own complex emotions?

ikr. ain't she perfect.
I just came from watching episode 7, and there's a scene where an A-ha cassette comes out, so at some point maybe Ellie does sing Take on me.

Nice detail, havent noticed. Now the scene is even more emocional. FUCK
It just looks too real, it really hurts to see💔
It’s Ellie realizing that she liked and learned this song when she was younger because she related to the lyrics on a deep emotional level. Both her coming to terms with wanting to sacrifice her life and having Joel force her to keep on living. Combined with her own insecurities about never thinking that she is good enough for Dina. It’s really tragic foreshadowing.
😭😭😭
I assumed that was because she watched Joel kill droves of people to be “safe” and in her eyes it’s just not worth it

I suppose hitting those high notes is a boss fight in its own way.
The funny thing is even Morton Harket sings the "in day or two" in a deeper pitch these days. I found a mtv unplugged version where the pitch was almost the same like here, so it is final boss like to hit this pitch smooth xD

Yes, but not because you don't go for high notes in acoustic versions; there are plenty of acoustic versions with high notes maintained.
