Fox has scored almost the same amount of total points in the clutch as the top 3 have and he has played like 6 games less because of his injury. That tells you everything you need to know. Fox is by far a better player than Tyrese and I really like Tyrese, but Fox actually defends and is a better pure scorer. Fox is having an all-star season and maybe a MVP one as well, esp if the Kings can rise in the standings. Fox needs a blowout game to get noticed.
Haliburton is the only MVP candidate that can't reliably overcome solid on ball pressure. He just doesn't have that in his bag yet. The tournament championship exposed this. Meanwhile Fox busts the Lakers asses every time they play.

As a Kings fan I tremendously appreciate this. I could care less about Austin Reeves and James Harden getting that LA market bandwagoning. Fox deserves the spotlight so much more.
They always rate Haliburton and SGA above him, even a tier above him, but Fox has accomplished more and keeps improving each year. It's not small market syndrome. OKC and Indiana are both small market. It's not success. The Kings are a more successful team right now. It's not stats. It's not importance, because Fox is the 4th quarter guy and the lead guy on a better team. It's, in my opinion, the influx of young NBA media who get obsessed with being quirky or cute in their praise. They want to find the odd ball. Haliburton was a later pick with a weird shooting form. SGA was an unhyped pick with a more old school, inside the 3pt game. OKC is a "quirky" team. Sacramento is a Golden State mold following team with speed in Fox instead of just half court threes. It's like college kids wanting to find the new thing to put forth as "hey look at this!" but they can't actually break down a Greek tragedy as countless others have before them, for they have no real analytical skill. They just try to be clever despite having no ability to discern clever from kitsch.
@keyshonjones901 do we? Idk... living in Sacramento, it just feels like players who play here don't get a whole lot of recognition on a national scale. For instance, nobody wanted to even believe the Kings were a good team UNTIL we finished a 3rd seed, despite being much improved and being in the hunt all year. The Pacers haven't been relevant since Paul George, but they're RAVING about Haliburton, despite him having proven nothing thus far. I could be wrong, but I think it's "Sacramento".
@@En4cer2K9 yea, you can have a bigger market then another team that has a golden boy. Look at Milwaukee for example, whose market is terrible. The kings may have a better market than Milwaukee even tho they have Giannis. Haliburton is hyped because of what mainstream media did when we traded him.
I'm glad you had that Jordan take about how he plays in the 4th quarter. I thought I was the only one. You even showed a highlight of one the midrange fades at the top of the key that made me have that thought to begin with. He's just so dominant and his game is an effortless thing of beauty when he is in the zone. He's like escanor from 7 deadly sins and at noon in the 4th quarter, he becomes the one.
Not to mention he doesn’t party or use substances, he’s not hanging at clubs and doing dumb shit like Ja or so many others, he is a family man and his wife is awesome and actively involved in the basketball world, also at each game with their baby Reign. He’s hard working and is a testament to perseverance in the face of adversity. He’s also a team player and electric to watch. He checks every box. You’d think he’d be a poster candidate for the NBA. But no. It’s wild.
Less anyone forget, Fox only made the All-Star last year as an injury replacement, then when it was undeniable how dominant he was post all-star break, he made the All-NBA team. He's having a better year than last year, awesome defensively too. He outplayed SGA in our win, with SGA only matching him in points because of the kind whistle.
Kings fan here. We've been so bad for so long that I think a lot of media folks just got used to not paying any attention to Sacramento - there's just not been much to pay attention to. And that's okay. If what you want is media attention, go play somewhere else - but if you want to be a part of snapping the longest playoff drought in NBA history, and hopefully someday snapping the longest championship drought in NBA history, Sacramento's the place to be.
The Pacers are on the slide, another loss pending tonight, in a weak conferencee. Can Haliburton even lead that team to the playoffs. He can't get into the paint like Fox, and he can't keep him man in front of him. Smart SAC fans already know (knew) this before we traded him. He's a brilliant deep shooter and passer but the flaws are significant. Fox has NO flaws.
@@blowc1612 If Haliburton is as "dominant" and "brilliant" as the national pundits claim, then they will have a counter move to the counter. Let's see, I have my doubts.
Thanks for putting this out. Its a travesty for him to not be in the top 5 let alone the top 10. On top of everything mentioned in this video Fox has taken a huge leap defensively and he is a top 5 defensive point guard in the league.
@@simless282 I'm glad you asked and I'll give you a few reasons. There is no player in the league that is more clutch than Fox and that holds a ton of weight. The Kings haven't had that many clutch games this season but Fox still leads the NBA 4th quarter points per game. Fox could put up more assist numbers but he allows Domas to facilitate a lot more instead of being a ball dominant player that trys to make every decision unless its close down the stretch when its needed. I would have Fox over Luka right now because he is actually a good defender. I like the rest of your top 5. I have no idea why Fox is so disrespected by the media. If he doesn't break his finger on his dominant hand in the playoffs I wouldn't have to argue about this stuff.

It’s the small market syndrome, but this season his team is on National TV more than previous years so there will be more exposure. They also need to make it to the finals.
It is not small market syndrome, its the 16 year playoff drought just broken, hard to shake that reputation and that last year was a one-off. What smart SAC fans know is we traded the inferior PG when we dealt Haliburton. We kept the superior one. Haliburton led his team to an embarassment vs the WIzards last night, the fraud is being exposed.
It's not - Milwaukee, Indianapolis, San Antonio and Salt Lake City are small markets. It's the Kings reputation - the Webber era dealt with it too, despite being the overall best team during the 2001-2002 season.
The nba media made there decleration when the kings traded haliburton that fox was just a stat padder who would always be a good player but never quite an allstar and haliburton was Magic with a jumpshot. If they put Fox over haliburton now it would be admitting they were wrong which they were and are. Haliburton is a young player with some serious flaws that need to be worked out. And fox is a player in his sixth season coming into his prime. Fox is easily a top three pointguad and a top five player.
Well it’s sure he gained a lot of new fans after arriving of Sasha. I will confess that i started just now to pay attention about how big Foxy actually is.

Yes sir and I would add that no one can keep Fox out of the lane to shoot the "middy". Haliburton can rarely get to that area of the floor.
