The game being free to play is an unbeatable deal. Should they introduce mandatory fees, a class action lawsuit from Blizzard would likely shut down the servers, ensuring it remains free-a top selling point. This might not happen immediately but, as history has shown with other private classic WoW servers, it's a strong possibility. In my opinion, the best aspects of this game include the high fun factor, a player base that's much friendlier than retail's often toxic environment, and the innovative new content that adds much-needed continuity to the classic experience. The developers' dedication, funded by donations, proves they are truly passionate about enhancing the classic experience. This game is a solid 10/10 for me.
The 90 dollar mount did it for me. And it was sad, As I was really starting to like WOW again with the War Within. Now before anyone says "Well just don't buy it dude" I agree. I should feel that way. But tying it with a "expiration date" meaning its FOMO. As lif, Insulting my intelligence and basically telling me buy this mount or you will regret it later. Ive played TWOW off and on. Its my home now. :)
Flying mounts did for me back in the day with WoW. It lead to so many disconnects for the community. Having to run/ride to objectives kept you in contact with the wider community for PvP etc. Also having everything based in the Eastern Kingdoms or Kalimdor does that too rather than shipping all the max levels off to their own zone and leaving the original lands completely empty.
there is ALWAYS a catch 22.... the proverbial damned if you do and damned if you don't...... i personally LOVED being able to fly ANYWHERE once i learned the flying skill... and MOST of the PVP to my knowledge had no flying anyways.. unless you were into ganking lowbies for ZERO honor gain....
Except if you played WoD, Legion, BFA, or Shadowlands you would know that flying has absolutely nothing to do with the disconnect. Because for more than the first half of all those expansions, YOU COULDN'T FLY. Flying was literally added in TBC and pvp was almost more active there than in vanilla. So it's wild to see this revisionism fantasy that flying is what caused pvp to die.
@@ThePalo48 to me it made it easier, specially if one was of the ganking lowbies mindset.... but i might be the only one to think this way as a NON-PVP'er
I've recently dipped my toes into Twow after hitting full blown raid log mode on sod. Cba solo farming zg on my rogue any more. From what ive seen of the changes in Twow though it looks incredibly impressive. Sub rogue changes look amazing. And tbh looks considerably more deeply thought out than anything SoD has produced. Especially for the sub spec. I play Rogue Tank and even though its incredibly under represented it plays so incredibly well. And its incredibly disappointing that its such heavily scaling spec and that jt requires a t1 2 set to make it even remotely viable threatwise. I will perservere with Twow as im incredibly interested in seeing how it all works.
Ended retail sub, friendship with turtle has begun 🤝 Goblins being environmentalist and khadgar in wheelchair were the last straw, it doesnt make sense. then the brutosaur dropped. Im enjoying the old school journey
Blizzard has definitely flown the coop in regards to understanding the appeal and flavor of what made vanilla amazing. SoD continues to prove that they don't get it and I'm done giving them benefit of the doubt. I log into Turtle and it's like I'm transported to a completely different game. I'm not rushed or stressed because there's plenty of new things to enjoy along the way unlike the endgame focus and rune chore circuit of SoD. Also noticing actual gms in Turtle reminded me what it's like to have an integrated support team that makes you feel listened to. Only thing Blizzard wins on is the more advanced client but it seems Turtle will be catching up soon. So impressed with this development team 👏
Couldn't agree more on the Blizzard part. Yet sorry to say but, pay to win cash shop where you can buy mounts, bags, instant bank, instant mail, instant vendor, instant AH, respec bot, etc..... That makes it the antithesis of what made vanilla vanilla and so amazing. Also, having crossfaction in World of Warcraft is absolutely retarded. Can't play that, and it makes me really really sad to see that people support and play that.
Great video @Mythix! I agree completely in regards to blizzard 👎 And hey congrats with the 2000+ subs, I've rarely seen a channel grow as fast as yours 😃👌
Cancelled my subscription today after playing for 3 days on Turtle it showed me why i fell in love with the game and what blizzard did to it the 90$ mount did the rest 😅
Great video ❤ It is so sad. 30 Years of Warcraft. around 25 years of diablo. And they destroy/abuse/disregard the IPs that made them the king of the Hill. Soemtimes i wonder if there is not a single bit of love left. Tho to be fair, i enjoy TWW so far only the M+ Rotation is kinda whack
Hey so I was reviewing your comment and I think I have a solution. Go to your game files, go to the WTF folder --> then Config.wtf --> Gxresolution --> Type in your resolution then click save
I recently decided to come back to wow after not playing for a LONG time. I was logged in for 30 minutes and it all seemed like one big mess so I left again.
I enjoy Turtle WoW, but world chat is pretty juvenile/snarky/jaded/toxic most of the time & rarely helpful to players asking any game questions. Sadly, it's the online players themselves that have ruined/tarnished pretty much all online games with their childish, socially-challenged and/or outright malevolent behaviors. In the case of Blizzard, they allowed these types players to really run-amok with their negative behaviors, most especially in the case of bots, RMT cheaters, exploiters, etc.
Well my friend unfortunately, this is the internet in general and I believe a greater reflection of society as a whole. I'm sorry to hear that your conversations arent going 100%. I am hoping you can find a strong guild or community in TurtleWoW that might give you the interactions your looking for.
That's the downside of every free online game, but don't lose hope:D, I met really amazing people and really stupid people, just ignore world chat and you will have an amazing time
Some responses to this, First: This server has been active for six years. Unlike Nostalrius which was hosted in a place where Blizzard could use the legal system to abolish a free project that was doing better at listening to the community than they were. Second: TurtleWoW is hosted in a remote area that Blizzards legal team cannot use the law to ban an indie project or server. Third: Even Blizzard could be shutdown as soon as tomorrow brother, they have alot of funding but based on the trajectory of their company its still very feasible that they too could be shut down. Just because they are a big name doesnt mean they too wont shut down tomorrow.
It's true, the scale at which people are botting on retail is just far greater than it is on a private server like Turtle WoW, it also goes paired with the fact that Blizzard is in fact banning botters, but they're doing it in waves as to catch them by surprise, so that bot developers don't know what tipped it off. That does however mean that if a bunch of bots have set up camp in an area where you need to quest and are constantly killing the named mob that you need, it's probably the most annoying thing to know that Blizzard won't do anything about it right away.
@@jamiewongttv It feels like a minor priority for Blizzard. In other words, what is a major priority for the playerbase is just "Meh" for Blizzard in many cases.
I was so stoked for season of discovery. Phase 1 was fun. The rest was terrible. Blizzard truly has no idea what makes classic fun.
What makes classic fun?

It is safe yes haha has about 6,000 players online at all times.
