How to scan a Document in Microsoft Office Word 2010

I OCR scan every week for my job and just bought a new computer that couldn't OCR scan! After reading about 20 articles online and 5 hours time trying all the other ways, I finally got my little Microsoft software back on my desktop ready to OCR. Thank you! I had tried these steps trying to install 2000 image rec software to 2013. That didn't work. But the 2007 did!

Thanks , your instructions were very helpful.
When I tried to assign a keyboard to Ctrl+1, as it was Ctrl+C, the ctrl+c disappeared and I am unable to insert a new keyboard assignment. Any advice? I did close and open word , will keep trying. Thanks again.

Brilliant it works - only thing I have to do now is siync my HP printer with my laptop. As it stands HP printer shows up with error message saying USB or Wireless not connected when it all is. Bizarre.

This is a great video - BUT!!
Why on earth was it required!
I really think that Microsoft has lost its way.
Whatever happened to the user labs.
Stick users in front of the latest software, see how they get on - and fix it!
Office Word 2003 - Click "Insert" - and there you are - chooses the option you want! Easy!

This worked but the shortcut did not last. I have to do this every time I want to scan a document so if I have ten pages to scan I have to go through these steps for every page. Vey disappointed. Not sure if I still have Microsoft Office 2007 but if I do I will try that.

What a disaster MS OFFICE 2010 is !.
Making things as complicated as possible (key shortcut and so... .)
Listen how this sounds:
"Good news! If you don't have this feature in MS Office 2010 and you still have the MS OFFICE 2007 disk , you can copy it from there!!!!"
How would sound on cars:
This new car miss one very good feature but good news: if you have an older car,you can take it from there?! Unbelievable!
