I've been inside the tower when working on O2 mast equipment. The clock fingers were all driven from the centre.Had driven past it and often wondered what it was like inside.
That is concrete asbestos and not a serious hazard to the public and operators like blue asbestos insulation still needs special care in removal, the demolition crane is also spraying water to keep dust down.
Absolutely amazing footage of a icon slowly disappearing, but I have to ask why all the scaffolding either side of the tower ? But many thanks for the time taken to do these videos 😃😁
I'm no structural engineer but imo it looks like the developers have taken on a lot more than they expected. It looks like the whole site is past saving.
The whole building has been investigated using AI laser technology and only the tower (the part getting knocked down in video) couldn’t be saved. The rest of the building is safe and just need a facelift
I had no idea, I was watching a video about the building only on Fri night, wondering what it was used for, no mention this was happening. WHAT AN UTTER SHAME.
Great vid Paul, what a satisfying job that driver has , love it.
Thanks
Paul , Loving your patient drone footage of this project 👍🌟👌🏻🍻🍻

There use to be a few levels but if all collapsed in the fire
Great video as usual 😮
Thanks
I thought there were plans to restore the building
@@wrigjo101 there is but the tower was destroyed after the fire and had to come down
Are they asbestos roofing sheets at the bottom of the tower. Surly they need removing first to stop asbestos dust getting released into the air. 😮
The tower was so dangerous nobody could go in. Most of it was pushed inward.

That looks like it was just a huge empty void where the clock face was, with just a stairway to the roof and the clock workings?
it was actually divided in to 3 or 4 floors but that all collapsed in the fire
you can see the floors here, sometime in the middle of clip. th-cam.com/video/m-h6amo-qgM/w-d-xo.html

Its not in great condition but they will be saving everything apart from the tower. the scaffold id there to hold up the walls

I grew up admiring that beautiful structure.
What a shame .
Such a nimble machine.
get upto 1 pound a brick. for them bricks. hundreds of thousands pounds worth of bricks there
they will save what they can, there is already a load saved around the corner
I salvaged loads from Ogdens in Liverpool as they were the only ones that matched mine, also saved some of the power house gauges and meters.
