There is one reported problem with the Seakeeper Gyro stabilizer system. Unless you add the sound shroud you have a high pitched wine from the gyroscope spinning. That would be very irritating when trying to sleep. The flaw in this system is the time for full effectiveness. From powered down to to full effect depends on the size, which is determined by the displacement of the hull, but on average for a yacht the size shown you get partial effect after 45 minutes, 1 hour 30 minutes for full effect. Once fully up to speed, definitely the best system. It doesn't take much effort to research stabilizer systems and find out where they have issues or concerns for each type. With the active fins, the hydraulic part is a concern, the heavier the seas the more of a concern. This also can apply to the paravane system. The stable wings you need to set once you get out into open water, then pull up but they are heavy and have the same issue shared with the active fin and paravane systems, added drag.
Thank you for the detailed feedback. This yacht has been Captain maintained, with no expense spared for over 10 years now. For this particular boat, the safe bet would be to say any issues like you discussed have been well taken care of by now.
@@GarnockReviews My comment was directed at the technology, not the particular installation. In your vid you glossed over the details of the sound concern which prompted my adding it and how it can be addressed.
depends on speed, sea state, and weather. At 10kts 1400 gals will get you 700 miles. At 8kts you can go 1,600 miles, and 7kts will extend you to 2,200-2,600 miles.
David, thanks for watching and for reaching out. As far as I know, this one is for sale for $795k. If you can email me your contact details to Boats@GarnockReviews.com, I can have the broker reach out to you directly with more info.
Thanks Dean. I don't think this one was designed for ocean crossings, but can still handle rough weather thanks to strong hull design, twin diesels, and even has stabilizer system onboard. However, I think this one is more at home cruising up the Intercoastal to New York and enjoy the cooler summers, then head back down to South Florida for warmer winters 😉
Thanks for the comment. I have been fortunate to now have been on boats of all shapes and sizes. I often thought the same that it is easier to distribute weight and equipment across larger boats, than in smaller boats. Also more room to work on different aspects of the boat too.
The last I knew, she was still for sale but in South Florida with a different broker. If you can email your contact info to Boats@GarnockReviews.com, I can have someone reach out to you directly with more info and arrange a viewing etc
I haven't seen that movie before, but did a quick Google image search and it does look similar for sure. However, I don't believe this is the boat bit probably from the same era and perhaps even same manufacturer. Good eye!!
I agree, it was like travelling back in time when I was onboard. As to the music, I personally like the music filling in the blanks in audio when doing these videos, but based on the feedback from everyone it appears we are in the minority.
She's a very capable boat in terms of sea state and weather, but she doesn't have that sort of range. She would be great for island hopping through the Caribbean, or running from Florida to New York etc 🤠
Hey Joshua, thanks for watching and for reaching out. My understanding is that this one is still for sale for $795k and located in Florida. I would need to check the exact location as the owner was still using this yacht while it was on the market. If you are serious about viewing, if you can shoot me an email with your contact details, I can forward this on to the broker to reach out to you directly. My email address is boats@garnockreviews.com. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! This one has a range somewhere in the region of 500 miles. She has been used extensively sailing from New York to Florida and back.
My apologies for the late reply. I have been told at 11 knots cruise, she burns 25 gallons per hour, and has a range of 500 mile with 200 gallon reserve. That range increases if you cruise at 9.5 knots which is what the owners typically do.
Hey Michael, as far as I know it's still for sale. If you shoot me an email with your contact details to Boats@GarnockReviews.com, I will have the broker reach out to you directly.
Michael, I spoke with the broker this morning and the Trumpy is still for sale. However, in a week or so she will start heading north towards New York from Jacksonville, Florida.
@@GarnockReviews Ok, thanks for the information. Sorry I am so late in responding. I am in mediations today with clients. Tell the owner my email is mlodge@lodge-co.com Thanks!!
Diesel fuel 1400 gallons, ar $4/gallon=$5600. If cruising range is 500 miles, per mile = $11.20/ mile, or about 3 gallons per mile. ? Correct. What is cost of insurance and slip fee in popular areas? Ownership taxes?
Hey Neil. Ballpark, I think your in the right area for fuel. As to marina fees, according to their website, the marina it is in here in Jacksonville, Florida is $1250 + tax per month. Insurance is really open to variables including your own experience and where you will be cruising etc, but ballpark probably around $1500 per month or so. Hope this helps.
Hi Neil, IME there are some more components that are related to the annual/monthly cost of owning/operating a boat like this. W/O sailing her a single mile, you'll probably have to think of spending around 3k a month, whereas depreciation isn't included to the maths.
Cruising range depends upon speed. At 10kts 1400 gals will get you 700 miles. At 8kts you can go 1,300 miles, and 7kts will extend you to 2,100-2,400 miles. Insurance for boats is different than cars, year, make, and model are similar but length, boat survey, and captain experience are all variables. A newbie captain will pay more than an experienced one. Slip fees in popular areas can be $1,500-$3,000 per month for 40-50 foot boats. This beast is going to run higher.
For the right person (not me, I'm a sailor), this is a bargain. Sure, maintenance must be factored in (probably $50k/yr. w/o crew?), but so much more be beautiful than a modern $4 million boat.
Real nice yacht but I would think the reason she hasn't sold yet is because of the range. 500 miles isn't enough for modern crusing. Perhaps modifications could be made for extra fuel tanks but that would also reflect the true value of the yacht. In this case she is overpriced.
Hey John, glad you enjoyed the video and the yacht. I'm conflicted on the range on this one. For some reason I don't see her as a long distance offshore cruiser. Instead, I picture her sailing up and down the Intercoastal, or island hoping in the Caribbean. Either way, 500 miles would be more than enough to get you from a to b.
The secret is to start with a good hull to begin with. Not only was this a solid built yacht on day 1, but it has been maintained regardless of costs. For most boats I'd agree with your comment, but I think this one has a good head start for the next owner.
If the hull is maintained and in good condition it's not. I grew up spending every weekend on my parents big wood hull cruiser. I also worked as a marine mechanic. If you are not handy and know squat about boats it is a little more work yes. The wood hull boats look a hell of alot better than plastic that's for damn sure.
This one is for sale for $795k. If you are interested, can you email your info to Boats@GarnockReviews.com and I will pass on your details to the broker?
Thanks Kevin. This one is extremely well maintained and to be honest, I didn't learn the price until after I did my walk through. I thought for sure this would have been over the $1m mark.
@@firestormlivingsolutions Ongoing maintenance, if you want it to retain its value, will be a greater expense over 10 years. With the price being so low, someone can afford that level of mainenance. What a beauty; well laid out and outfitted.
Not many boats of this size and style have that. The boat shouldn't be pitching and rolling enough to need it. Sailing yachts sometimes have support options since the yacht sails at an angle more.

That roll up plastic over the rear cockpit looks hideous on a boat of this class. If the weather is too bad sit inside. It looks like the sort of thing you'll find in a trailer park. Beautiful boat ruined.

@@GarnockReviews Stabilizing fins are much quieter and minimal space and maintenance.
Wht range it will go in 1400 gallon ❓
depends on speed, sea state, and weather. At 10kts 1400 gals will get you 700 miles. At 8kts you can go 1,600 miles, and 7kts will extend you to 2,200-2,600 miles.
The Gold Standard of yachting.
They don't make them like they used to in this example!
@@GarnockReviews beautiful through out .
Is this still for sale and what is the asking price?
David, thanks for watching and for reaching out. As far as I know, this one is for sale for $795k. If you can email me your contact details to Boats@GarnockReviews.com, I can have the broker reach out to you directly with more info.
Beautiful
pretty. ohm myyyy.
What more do you need, fantastic
Thanks Deon, I appreciate you watching and glad you enjoyed it 😉
I'm going to hazard a guess that this isn't a ocean crossing vessel. But it is lovely.
@@GarnockReviews thanks for letting me know, it resembles another yatch I saw for sale called Dakota which is also very nice.
1400 gallons , no way , unless you don't mind rowing .
@@GarnockReviews It would also do nicely on the Great Lakes.
It seems to me it’s actually harder to build a smaller vessel than larger. Maybe not, but IMO anyway.
Thanks for the comment. I have been fortunate to now have been on boats of all shapes and sizes. I often thought the same that it is easier to distribute weight and equipment across larger boats, than in smaller boats. Also more room to work on different aspects of the boat too.
Hi there, is this old guy still available?
The last I knew, she was still for sale but in South Florida with a different broker. If you can email your contact info to Boats@GarnockReviews.com, I can have someone reach out to you directly with more info and arrange a viewing etc
This yacht looks suspiciously similar to the one shown in the movie "the final countdown"...
I may be mistaken, though...
I haven't seen that movie before, but did a quick Google image search and it does look similar for sure. However, I don't believe this is the boat bit probably from the same era and perhaps even same manufacturer. Good eye!!
That was a 57 ft boat
Old world charm. Beautiful. I think the music is suiting, but a little too loud.
I agree, it was like travelling back in time when I was onboard. As to the music, I personally like the music filling in the blanks in audio when doing these videos, but based on the feedback from everyone it appears we are in the minority.
So quiet unbelievable
Are thesestyle of boat capable of crossing the oceans?
She's a very capable boat in terms of sea state and weather, but she doesn't have that sort of range. She would be great for island hopping through the Caribbean, or running from Florida to New York etc 🤠
is this yacht still available? Is she available for Charter? Where located currently? Many Thanks!
Thanks!
Wow !!!!!
$$$$$$$ How much for this Jewel : D
Thanks Ronnie. This one is still for sale, I believe and was asking $795k 🤠
Transatlantic cruise capable?
Thanks for watching! This one has a range somewhere in the region of 500 miles. She has been used extensively sailing from New York to Florida and back.
How much gallon it will burn per hour ❓
My apologies for the late reply. I have been told at 11 knots cruise, she burns 25 gallons per hour, and has a range of 500 mile with 200 gallon reserve. That range increases if you cruise at 9.5 knots which is what the owners typically do.

Is this still available?
When I filmed this one, I honestly thought it would be $1m+, I agree that it's a great boat and a great price for the new lucky owner 🤠
No swim deck 🤷🏼♂️?
I suspect one could be added, but doesn't have one for now. I believe most Trumpys do not have one as standard
If I had the means to purchase and properly maintain this beautiful piece of nautical artwork. I would.
Beautiful, but a wood hull? Maintenance nightmare!
Is this for sale? How much is it going for?
This one is for sale for $795k. If you are interested, can you email your info to Boats@GarnockReviews.com and I will pass on your details to the broker?
@@GarnockReviews seems cheap considering it's so nice
Thanks Kevin. This one is extremely well maintained and to be honest, I didn't learn the price until after I did my walk through. I thought for sure this would have been over the $1m mark.
@@GarnockReviews yes easily
@@firestormlivingsolutions Ongoing maintenance, if you want it to retain its value, will be a greater expense over 10 years. With the price being so low, someone can afford that level of mainenance. What a beauty; well laid out and outfitted.
😇👍
NOTE It reminds me a lot of the way John Wayne fixed up his Yacht
I can see the resemblance of the Wild Goose 😎
Keep it in Fresh water and under cover.
This one has been stored undercover which definitely helps preserve that stunning woodwork 😎
Price?
This one is listed for $795k
Shouldn't a bed on a boat have a rail?
Not many boats of this size and style have that. The boat shouldn't be pitching and rolling enough to need it. Sailing yachts sometimes have support options since the yacht sails at an angle more.
@@GarnockReviews Thanks for replying. :)
This MUZAK is totally OBNOXIOUS !!
Nice boat but I would definitely change the name...
It's a boat review. Take a break from your TDS.
“Well owned” ?
lovely old boat.. BUT, whats with the depressing music? Feels like its the "Titanic" looming!! not trying to put a downer on your good work, just some constructive criticism (for what ever its worth) Cheers and all the best
Thanks for watching and glad you like the boat. As to the music, this was an early video for the channel and I was experimenting with the edits. Based on feedback, my videos don't have any music now. I think from memory only 2 of them including this one has music.
@@GarnockReviews thanks for getting back to me and glad you didn’t take offence… I will happily subscribe as I already subscribe to several boating/yacht channels… I’ll look forward to watching more of your videos . Best of luck. Cheers
What's the bottom line on her?
Hey Scott. If you want to email me your contact info, I can have the broker reach out direct. My email is Boats@GarnockReviews.com.
Books in a bathroom/head cant be a good idea.
Thats a lot of boat for 450k
I agree, and one that is rare to find at any cost 🤠
Can not believe how cheap she is...$900.000
I agree 100%. When I was onboard, I thought for sure this would be over the $1m mark. Love the way she has so much classic appeal, but tastefully upgraded to include modern comforts and amenities. Best of both worlds.
That roll up plastic over the rear cockpit looks hideous on a boat of this class. If the weather is too bad sit inside. It looks like the sort of thing you'll find in a trailer park. Beautiful boat ruined.
Thanks Martin. I agree she is a beautiful boat. The one advantage of those covers is that they can be easily removed. You could have the entire cockpit open in a matter of minutes without any structural changes or damage being made. It offers the best of both worlds, if you want them in place you can, but if you want them removed you can do that too.
Kinda ironic that Biden was on the t.v. on the Trumpy...😂😂😂😂
Beautiful!
Thanks Robert, glad you enjoyed it!!
