      Cool guys! Well idk if you are young, but younger people usually like to use pads, but if you want to use cups or discs that's great too, but if you are using a cup or disc, disc especially, make sure you watch a lot of insertion videos and tutorials to make sure you do it correctly and don't cause discomfort for yourselves and don't pet it leak, also if you are gonna use a disc, make sure you measure your cervix to know which sizes to use, you can find out how to measure your cervix on TH-cam as well good luck

    The Femmicycle is my absolute favorite cup. I know it's unpopular and people find it intimidating (not to mention it's not recommended for people with certain uterine / cervical issues), but it's the only cup that doesn't leak for me 🤷‍♀️. I've used it for about 7 years with no issues.

      The first yes (green cup) is a Saalt cup. Second yes is a Lumma disc (this is actually the thing that has worked for me as a beginner, I'd REALLY recommend it, esp with the string tucked in).
      The 50/50 in her hand is a Cora "perfect fit" disc (many people love it. Some people find the finger notch useless and would prefer they spent money on a different disc). The blue one in the same frame in the background is a Saalt disc size regular(similar notch style, similar reviews from people but this notch at least has some grip to it compared to Cora). I recently bought this one but I'm not sure if I hate it or I'm still learning with it (it's harder for me to fold with one hand and so my hand cramps up while trying to insert, and then I also have to bear down to get it out because I can't get the finger grip to work for me at all. But then I think the size might be a good diameter for me so still waiting to form a conclusive opinion).
      The "yes of course" is the Hello disc which this youtuber has designed herself in collaboration with the brand Hello. I've not used it but SO MANY PEOPLE LOVE IT is all I gotta say. And not at all just because it's got her name on it. Like it's a design that solves a lot if problems for people using reusable menstrual products.
      The "yes I've grown really fond of this" is the Formoonsa disc. She has a review of it on TH-cam here.
      The "surprisingly I actually really like this" is called the Coral Cone.
      I assume you really only want to know about the ones she recommends.

      @@ruthelirnieves everything I know about those cups I only know from watching her videos on her channel, so she has a couple of "worst cups..." type of videos you can watch and she'll explain there. Pretty easy to tell which ones she hates by most of the thumbnails and titles, so you can easily watch them yourself to get an idea. Its been awhile since I watched them but I can tell you confidently I would never feel the need to even try the "no" and "absolutely not" cups/discs because it was very objectively reasonable opinions that she gave so you could also just trust her and you won't regret it. But I did enjoy watching the videos of the failed cups because it helped me learn what things are gimmicks and not what you should care about (like excessive decor that just ends up uncomfortable/pokes you (aka the heart stem cup))

      I'd recommend a pad if you are quite young, and a tampons for whatever age and when/if you're like 12 even, I think you could use a disc, I really recommend discs, if you do it right, then you shouldn't be able to rlly feel it, if you are using a disc, make sure you measure your cervix to know what size to use, there will be tutorials on how to measure your cervix and how to insert your disc, and with discs, when inserting, angle it towards your tail bone so it can really go as far as it needs to (as far as you can get it) and remebr when you angle it, make sure it it gets tucked in at your bone at the end of the cervix and at the front, make sure you push it up, so there will be no leak good luck

    Hello! I know this video isn't about this, but I wanted to ask you something. Does a menstrual disc expose the blood to more oxygen than a cup since it doesn't suction? I'm about to try a disc for the first time and want to know as much as I can about it. Also tbh I got a little freaked out about TSS so this is coming a little bit from paranoia

    • @TheWatev123456789
      @TheWatev123456789 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @Bee It creates a more favourable environment for bacteria when there's exposure to oxygen AND carbon dioxide (idk what levels though). And the "period blood smell" comes from the blood being exposed to the air for a long period of time, which happens with pads, but not with cups apparently. So I was wondering about discs

    • @magicmoles
      @magicmoles ปีที่แล้ว +9

      tss is VERY rare and your chances of getting it with a tampon are WAY higher that with a cup or disc. so fear not.(ur chances are still VERY VERY VERY slim with a tampon just change it regularly. and for a disc or cup if you aren’t comfortable with doing a full 12 hours you can always take it out every 6-8 hours if that makes you more comfortable.)

      I've used both disc and cups for years so I think my opinions of them both might really help you out. Disc's are very comfortable and easy to use. I like the fact that unlike menstrual cups you don't have to completely remove the disc to empty the contents out. All you have to do is slightly tug on the disc with your finger leaving a small gap for the blood to come out or push a little harder when you're emptying out your bladder while using the toilet. Menstrual cups are awesome too. Again extremely comfortable and easy to use. Unlike disc's, with menstrual cups you have to always make sure the cup is fully open by using your finger or fingers to fill around the cup bc if not, you without a doubt are going to have leaks and nobody wants that. I notice menstrual cups seem to stay in place for me all day whereas disc will naturally leak a little if my bladder or the disc is too full which I don't like. Also, if I'm very active or pushing on my uterine walls too hard, I noticed the disc tends to leak which again, I don't like. I can't stand when leaks happen bc who wants blood to be in their underwear or pants. I also, can go for long periods of time without emptying out the menstrual cup. 12 hours and more to be exact but I wouldn't go longer than 12 hours bc most companies don't recommend that as the risk for tss becomes higher the longer you leave it in for.
      But yeah just to give you an overall review. Menstrual cups are my favorite!!!! Bc ....
      they leak less, and I can leave them in for longer periods of time without emptying them. Again, 12 hours to be exact even on my heaviest days which usually are the first 2 to 3 days of when my period begins.
      Disc come second in my opinion bc they are easy to use. However, they do tend to leak more often depending on if my bladder is really full, I'm really active or the disc is too full of blood.
      I'll let you decide which one is best for you based off of the opinions and examples I gave. Like I said they see both pretty cool. Each one has its own pros and cons just depends on I guess your body type and the kind of lifestyle you live. If you live a very active life or work long periods of time like 8 plus more hours at work, I'd recommend the merula os cup bc it's extremely comfortable for most to all body types, easy to use, and can be left in for probably your whole shift as you more than likely won't fill the cup up all the way but again that depends on how much you bleed. I'd say my period is pretty moderate so I don't bleed to much or too little either. I'm kind of right there in the middle but I'd say the first couple days of my period are for sure HEAVY. I USED TO GO THROUGH tampons every couple of hours bc they couldnt really support the weight of my flow that well

  • @twistedara

    Why is the Phia cup impractical? What cup & disk would you recommend for high cervix?

    • @alicehatter4973
      @alicehatter4973 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a high cervix as well. I recently ordered a Lumma disc, size "High". That is the largest size they have and it works perfect for me! Tucks right behind my pubic bone which allows it to stay near the front for me to be able to reach it so conveniently. I have also tried the Diva cup large & the Enna cup medium. The Diva cup was way to big, too hard and was very difficult to pullt out because it would move way up and no way for me to reach it. The Enna cup was nice and made it mucb easier to slowly guide the cup back down to a point for me to grab the secure stem to pull out, but it was difficult to get it to initially open when insurted, and the suction from these cups make it so difficult to remove with a high cervix. I have been absolutely blown away my the Lumma disc. I tend to have a rather heavy flow and it's been in for hours with no leaks. I can't even feel it at all. I could feel the pressure from the cups and sometimes would make cramping worse. I am absolutely a disc girl from now on, screw suction cups! lol I hope I helped someone, but I know we are all built different. Give dsics a try if you have high cevrvix. I can actually reach it no prob! I'd like to try the Hello disc next, it looks very convenient and I may not actually need a string at all given where a disc naturally sits.

    NONE- IMO
    Do whatever you wish, try, buy, throw money & these things in the trash. Save your $$ and go classic. Pads first, then when you're ready tampons. Then, maybe these cups, but I do not recommend them. Maybe to 1 in 100 girls this works for, but not the average. The companies just want your $

      You realize you end up spending more on pads and tampons in your lifetime than with cups or disks? Like I understand if you don’t wanna use them but saying the company only wants your money is stupid when they make less of you in their lifetime compared to tampon and pad companies.
