Sweet video and commentary dude. I've never seen a ret in action and they look like one of the most fun classes to play in vanilla so much utility and cool abilities to use on different situations. Keep up the vids man. Classics almost here!

IMO, spec in reduced HOJ CD, especially if you have 3 pieces of pvp set. It becomes really really fast CD and in duels u can perform hoj>repentance>divine shield>hoj kinda stunlock/immunlock combo.... very very powerfull

trinket that increases +holy SPELLS crit does not affect JoC - it benefits from +melee crit and agi crit, so just get bhb and u're fine )

As someone who has mained deep ret since Nost, your talents and gearing are very interesting. Consecration is still a very powerful utility when playing flag, I wouldn't prio kings over consec simply because someone is just going to lose all those stats when they receive freedom/sacrifice/bop.
I like that you put points into Intellect since you're wearing a few PvE dps items, but full r13 is much much stronger than any funky set up you can put together. Also, you absolutely need Spiritual Focus. Not having Spiritual Focus really sets you back v. hunters and rogues if you manage to bait kick.
Crusader is strong if it procs, but Lifestealing or 25 agility are much much much more valuable since if gives you more chances at Vengeance.
and for anyone watching that is thinking of playing paladin; there's dozens of specs and gear set ups that you can play with. Paladin is probably by far the most customizable class in vanilla WoW, don't think this or reckoning is the only options.
Hey man i love pvp and thats what i am aiming for, how would you rate ret in general, 1v1 and in wpvp.
@@PedroGarcia-qi2fb If you plan to solo WPvP paladin most definitely is not the class for you, BUT, if you're going to be playing with a friend then it becomes very strong. I recommend mage/druid or warrior/rogue to pair with paladin.
1v1 is a very mixed bag. You can just go reckoning and face roll people with HoJ + Full bomb + Sapper charge/grenade. Almost any spec you can beat with reckoning, can be outplayed by 2 handed holy or deep retri.
Early game is also a big struggle unless you just play holy until you hit your desired rank or BWL comes out.
Deep retri is a very fun spec to play, it allows you to wpvp, bgs, dungeons, raids, farming. Just remember, you're not a warrior. You're a paladin. Support teammates, don't just run around and only auto attack judgement people.
I play with friends but i always end up doing alot of solo pvp, still not sure 100% sure which class to go for, always loved ele shaman and hunter aswel. Thanks for the replies!

I like the way you play ret pally. The class can do good dmg but its not really about that. The way you support your team mates, throwing out spotnl heals, dispels, even giving loh to your mage teammate (even though it wasnt really necessary). These actions embody what makes pally so good. A class that supports and enables your team.
I get why people like holy paladins more, but a good ret pally will support their team while still applying pressure to the enemy team. Thats what makes them different. Holy is fully commit to team support with light pressure while ret is less support but capable of big pressure to enemy team. Its just a diff way to play and i think you do it well.

I love that you didn't drink a flask/depend on world buffs like certain *coughs popular pally streamers tend to do. Also, may I ask why you didn't take dwarf over human (for stone skin vs blind, etc.)? Was it solely due to the +5 with swords/hammers? Thanks.

Thank you for this. I’ve mained a pally cata-legion and I was bummed to hear that they were trash outside of healing so this gives me hope. Off to make my paladin!
They are not trash,just you need to use all seals in different situations,i mean we have seal that give us chance to stun for 2 sec,if you get combo with seal of command you do a lot of dmg with judgment,and bubble is op.
They are weak. You job as a Paladin is to heal. You are too good as a support class to waste it on being Ret. You can win games for you team by healing as a Holy Paladin. You can take a lot of damage, pump out big heals, give strong buffs and keep freedom on Warriors.
u rlly gotta get the healing without being interupted by dmg talent as ret. much better then the int talent. also rank 1 seal of command for when ur oom balls it does full dmg just weaker judge. good vid
Brilliant videos! I didn't play OG wow alot and only experienced 2 classes. I can definitely make a sound decision now on class pvp gameplay that I would enjoy. Also, I was so addicted to Warrior pvp the little time I played OG wow was sunk into that. 😂

2/18/31 is better for pvp in my opinion especialy with the improved HoJ that stacks with the paladin pvp set bonus giving you a 35 sec HoJ cooldown. Best overall duel spec if you got the pvp set.

Ret pally is very hard to gear at level 60. You will have to compete with warriors in raids, ret pallies just don't do enough damage. Once you have gear, absolutely a great choice for PvP IMO.
@@ExecutusGaming it goes both ways. unless wars are significantly better at dps at 60 it almost doesnt seem worth it

Is this spec you are using here better than the standard 11/9/31? Basically how big are consecration and spiritual focus for PvP as ret? Consecration is mainly to break stealth and spiritual focus to heal in combat. The thing is consecration kinda burns your mana and a good rogue knows how to avoid it well. And heal in combat with so many interrupts in PvP isnt that reliable and since as ret u get an extra chance to safely heal with repent... Those points could be switched to max out stuff like vindication, Parry, pursuit of justice besides getting BoK.
Try doing a Shockadin :D I'm going for that spec in classic, that way I can actually do both PvE and PvP on the same character without having to change specs

Love your videos! I was dead set on playing Shaman for Classic, but watching this Paladin seems a lot of fun in a hybrid supportive type of role. Is it possible to play Shaman in a similar way or are they just too different?
Absolutely. You will be forced to heal in raids, the same as pally, so you can by hybrid in PvP. Using heals and totems, then earth shocking and grounding enemy casts.
Love your vids man, and doing the live commentary shows how much u know about the game, and its impressive. But , as with the video about enha shaman, I just feel like you are just cheesing an overgeared char, I dont know what classes are ur main, but I think it would be way more entertaining if u stick to em, because I can tell that neither rpala nor enha are. Dont take it wrong please, wish u the best!
Thanks! All of the players on the server are the exact same gear level. It's a free rank 14 and professions server. I believe that Enhance shaman has a place in both PvP and PvE. Ret pally on the other hand, probably not so much in PvP, but viable in PvE if played correctly.

Judgement, autoattacks, seals, immunities, heals, CCs. Its just the same if you would say "I feel like mage is the most boring class you can play? Like you have frostbolt and frostnova?|
@@impaladba pala is indeed boring, "autoattacks, seals, immunities, heals, CCs" see, too low, depends heavily in autoattacks and the damage is"okay" with full gear

I think that most of ret pallies in classic wont manage to get to this phase of gaming. Because it will be very hard to obtain eq. Most of those casual gamers wont get what they expect...

Would you say that Paladin is more or less active than Druid in PvP? Both solo and in groups?
I want to play a support class but Paladin doesn't seem to have as much variety as the Druid, and seems to rely on auto-attacking and Engineering items to fill out an apparently lacking class
Druid and pally are both lacking classes when they're not healing. Both are great support classes.
Which libram were you using? Figure the dispel one would be best. Your build is bit weird to me unless your gear was int heavy??
It isn't int heavy besides the r13 gear. All of the other gear is Melee dps gear.

I would like to know if you could make a 1 button macro for seal of command. If its possible to cast SoC and followed by judement without reapplying SoC. I cant get it to work for myself it seems. Would be great if its possible to make one.
Thank you! I don't think it's possible to make a macro like that in Vanilla wow. It might be possible to make it in classic since there will be an implementation of the new macro system.

I know you just hopped right into it and it was not about being serious... but that UI made me lol a little, because it is basically Ret Paladins in a nutshell... No decursive, no group frames, just going all in for dem attacks :D Absolutely no offense bro, I know u would do better, if you were taking it any serious, just had to think of 99% of those Rets out there probably having the exact same UI ^^

I think is better using rank 1 all the time, u really dont need command full rank, only if u want to stun/ judge

The reason they lack damage is because you're in pvp gear and not t2.5 and nax gear (big stress on MoM, being the best weapon in the game and paladins scaling the best with weapons). Pallys scale the best second only to warlocks in an all around solo pvp sense. Might be impossible for some people to believe but its true. You gotta take advantage of this if you're gonna make a video. A server where everyone is in pvp gear also feels bad since it provides everyone with a ton of stam but then a lot of classes, like paladins, with low damage. You could have made a video on retrowow with MoM and preraid BiS and it would have been a hoot compared to this boring slugfest. Don't take this as hate, i love your video's, take it as a request to go with more optimal gear if you're gonna make another pally vid.
On this server Paladins (Holy reckoning ones) have insane amount of damage vs almost anyone (disc priests are the worst enemy). You have t2+pvpgear combo (plus unlimited shadow oils and Dragonbreathe chilis). You only lose to good frost mages and good discipline priests, sometimes good elemental shaman can pop you if you made fail by yourself. But deep full on strenght ret is really feels wheelchair in compare.
Haha the thing is, I already have a full bis ret pally video on retro wow. I even had Ashbringer and Thunderfury.

Warrior is easy to kite, just cc him after intercept and trinket it if u can. For lock, you just spam viper sting and max range as much as you can. Try to kill his pet too.
