It’s truly something that they paid tribute to Mandisa on public television by praising Jesus
That is what Mandisa was about praising the good Lord and gracious and greatful. So thrilled to see Idol pay tribute to such a wonderful inspiring soul. RIP ❤

@@joiisler8986 Honoring and worshiping Jesus as a way to honor the legacy of a believer is the ultimate way to honor their life. Mandisa made it known that any platform she had was to only and always shine light to Jesus. I wouldn't expect anything else from friends that are fellow believers!

Amen and yes ma'am I just wish we could have got in there because she was crying out in her own way. Seeking the light of God from a chiropractor with colored glasses was a sign something was off. I am not talking about not seeing God in everything, I am talking about her search and cry and confirmation she was looking for! We must be careful to reach out before it gets too far along this path.
Just because she had that big voice and praise didn't mean she did need help, too.
I hope she dancing now in the Lord's presence knowing that He loves you so. I also pray a friend or family member adopts your cat. Amen! Thank you for your beautiful light and praise. God has a way! Mandisa was criticized after singing this song and left the show early in the top 10 finishing 9th. Now Mandisa is honored with this song being shouted at the finals!

She's not in heaven according to Scriptures. She's in the grave awaiting resurrection according to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. The dead know nothing according to Ecclesiastes 9:5.

@@luv2467 From Danny’s response, I got the impression that she spurred people along and inspired and encouraged them (including, but not limited to, building them up in the faith). Certainly, that is a special way to be remembered, and it seemed to define the bond that Danny had with her.

I remember her singing this song. I believe this is the song that everyone voted her off for. Look how many years later it's back. I'm so glad Mandisa was bold enough to share her faith and this song.
I agree with you. I remember Mandisa unashamedly pouring out her love for the Lord, and exuding so much joy! She did not get voted out after performing this song; she was eliminated the next week after she sang Any Man of Mine for country week (I think the song choice got her, unfortunately). They could not have chosen a more fitting way of honoring Mandisa and her memory, and Melinda, Danny, and Colton had such special relationships and sister/brotherhoods in Christ with Mandisa, to be treasured forever.

I always said if I met Mandisa I would immediately give her a big hug. She had the sweetest spirit that shined through everything she did, and I admire her sharing her struggles and growth publicly. I head this song on the radio the other day and started crying. The shackles are off Mandisa's feet and she is singing Jesus's praise in heaven!

I saw Colton Dixon 3 years ago, when he was touring with Danny Gokey. It was a praise fest, for sure! Danny was on the platform, preaching and praising. It didn't seem like a concert. There was a special anointing in that place.
About Mandisa: What a beautiful woman of God. Her love for people and her Savior was evident. She is missed, but those who are in Christ Jesus will see her again.
So great to see Mandisa honored. I also am so happy to see two of my all time faves Danny and Colton.

This is another reminder of how amazing many of the runners up on Idol are. This show has truly produced an amazing amount of singers.

Thank you. I watched Idol alot but not since Randy, Paula, Simon, and Ryan left. I was wondering why they sang Mary Mary's (Erica Campbell & her sister's) song vs. one of Mandisa's song. I do recall Mandisa & Simon having a conversation about her weight & show business. She used tht great smile of hers & told Simon she would be alright (best of my recollection). Thts when I fell in ❤ with her. So sad😥 but Jesus won.
Absolutely LOVED this!! This trio has such passion, chemistry, and camaraderie. Though the reason for this tribute performance was sad, witnessing this worship on the American Idol stage was so powerful!! What a way to honor Mandisa and the love for the Lord that she exuded!!
