Vanlife Bathroom Upgrades! Our first major mod after a year of living full-time in our '21 Travato!

- Finally some content from the inside (literally) of the van!
Everyone is curious about the shower and bathroom in our van, and now you can see how we've upgraded our shower situation!
Friends and family sometimes think we're weird for wanting to shower or sleep in the van when we're visiting - but it's our home! OUR bed, OUR shower, and now, it's even better!
We replace the bathroom faucet in our 2021 Winnebago Travato 59 GL NPF camper van!
We've been living full-time for over a year, and its finally time to modify our sink experience.
We removed the old faucet with a cheap diverter and installed a taller single-hole faucet from Duda with a thermostatic temperature control and a much better diverter valve.
We learned about this mod from the Travato Owners and Wannabes group on Facebook. This is not quite a fully detailed How To, but you'll get a look at the project from the inside!

Haha thanks! We have a Rubbermaid bin with a lid for a litter box, and he uses wood pellets (like for home heat) instead of clay - way less tracking and I can sweep any escapees right out the door.
Good job. I'm enjoying following along with you since I also have a '21G. I'd do this mod but it'll have to wait until my back problems are resolved.

It’s worth the effort, trust us!! If you ever use the shower in the van, it improves the experience by approximately 100%. 😉

Thank you! Unfortunately this specific faucet has been hard to find lately - it’s a DE-002 with thermostatic mixing valve, and I can say most of us got it from Duda Diesel, but it’s been unavailable there for a few months. Some have found it from Aliexpress. I’m sure other options exist, you’ll want a single-hole mount thermostatic mixing faucet with some type of diverter for the shower hose.
@@BeyondIntention It looks like DE-002 is Duda's catalog number. Any chance you see a manufacturer's part number on it or the box somewhere? This would make it easier to find alternative sources. Duda is currently on 127 day back order.
Got a line on the latest source, Scott G (who also created the 3D printed shower floor drain I use) has them on his site! Check out stg.net
Word in the Facebook group is that Duda also got ten in today, someone says they called and spoke in person.
We just received our new faucet from Duda. Thanks to your video, installation looks pretty straightforward. But our new faucet came with threaded hose connectors. The stock waterlines on our 2012 Travato G model are not threaded They are apparently clamp on PEX style. Did you have to install PEX adapters of some sort or does your G model already have screw on water lines? Good job with the video!
Hmmm, 2012 Travato? Or ‘21? Ours is a ‘21, our original sink’s connections were threaded so aside from drilling that hole it was very plug-and-play. 😳
@@BeyondIntention I meant to say, 2014 Travato. The waterlines were tucked way below the framework of the sink area. I had to cut away part of the wood framing to get to them. Engineers probably changed the design for better access since 2014. All good now. Thanks!
Another great video you two! I decided on a follow-up mod in that area which was to keep the side storage bin door, but remove the actual plastic inner shelf portion. Not pretty in there, but allows me to store many rolls of toilet paper under the sink and keep my eye on the plumbing. Happy Travels!

Thanks! Yes we did! It is a 3-D printed drain from “Scott G” in the Travato owners and wannabes Facebook group, I think he might still have them at stg.net… it keeps the bigger particles out so you can remove the screen in the pre-22 G drain pump and stop having to tear it all apart to clean it every 4 showers lol.

Thanks for posting this video. My 2021 G already had the Duda faucet installed but i don't have instructions for how to use it. Can you recommend a video or web link? And i have a leak where the Duda line connects to the water lines--a vertical crack in the connecting nut.
