    I don't doubt it for a minute. .the rv 12v fridge is I am sure close in power consumption to a portable Engle, or dometic. I can run mine for 3 or 4 days on 2 golf cart Trojans. .without solar .
    12v and low power a.c. refrigerators are the future of rvs.and so , so much safer. I really enjoy your videos and you guys always give a very detailed description. I have used many ideas from rvs in my off grid cabin.. thanks .

    Also consider, leaving home and heading toward destination, the fridge would be full, helping to maintain the temperature, except for when a door is opened. The full fridge, would require less energy to maintain temp. I like it.

    very useful thanks - our van (sorry, not a WInnebago, and UK specced) has been wired so that the fridge won;t run on the battery unless the engine is running, therefore the solar power available is wasted. I am thinking of plugging the mains power into an inverter to bypass the relay. Your video suggests that this will allow the solar panel to run the fridge full time. Cheers

    Can you run the tv for a few hours a day, charge laptops and phones, run the fan, etc. and have enough power for 3-5 days of boondocking? Love this floorplan and am considering one of these for music festivals where there are no hookups. Can we add extra solar power?

    At 1:30 of video stated full charge at 12.6v, shouldn't it be 13. something v if full?

    Why does this model (K) have the compressor fridge and the Travato G has the LP/Electric? Same question applies to the K having a convection microwave and the G having a regular microwave?

    • @LichtsinnRV
      @LichtsinnRV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good afternoon! Thanks for your note... the main reason for both is space... the convection oven requires the depth for the blower and the G does have more space allowing for a larger refrigerator and freezer.

    I like this RV, is it possible to get a model without propane? I also like the idea of an induction stove top, convection oven, more solar and lithium batteries. The extra sleeping area is a great feature. Is their a Winnebago model that I could be looking at with these features? Thanks so much for a great video!

      Good afternoon! While we do have the 59K as you saw in this video, Winnebago does not offer the all electric version of the Travato, mainly due to the desire to have a longer run cycle on heavy load appliances such as the AC

    Am I correct in assuming that the batteries also charge via 120v hookup, onboard generator, and driving the vehicle?

      +travelbydragonfly Good afternoon! You are 100% correct!

    Very good experiment. What battery config does the RV have. One battery or a bank? How many amp/hrs on the batteries?

    • @LichtsinnRV
      @LichtsinnRV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning! The Travato does have 2 maintenance free, sealed Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries.

      How many amp hours per battery?

    Ok so does the fridge run 110 AC from the invertor, which in turn is pulling from the batteries?....As far as the Batteries go, running down to 50% is probably maxed out. So when you guys stated it was at 25%, does that mean its 25% of 50% available? Just trying to figure out how you have the parameters of the meter configured.

    • @LichtsinnRV
      @LichtsinnRV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good evening! The refer runs direct from the batteries or 110V, not an inverter... the compressor driver refer runs off 110V or DC batteries. 25% would be of the total battery bank. Hope this helps!

      So this is all for nothing if the fridge runs on 110v powered by an inverter.............????

  • @dennism6664
    @dennism6664 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Needs at least one more solar panel, since running the batteries down to 25% really reduces their longevity.
    What are the refrigerator specs? How many amps does it consume?

    • @LichtsinnRV
      @LichtsinnRV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good afternoon Dennis! We can add more solar, up to 450 watts on the single controller... here is the cut sheet on the Nova Kool, with amperage draws listed...
      we use the larger 4500 model listed... www.novakool.com/documents/SpecSheetImperialMetricLT2016.pdf

    My coach is a 2017 Thor Quantam PD31 with residential fridge and 1800 watt inverter, and 2 12volt series 27 Interstate batteries. So you are telling me that 1 100watt solar will keep the fridge running for that long. What about using anything else in the coach.

    • @LichtsinnRV
      @LichtsinnRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning Steve! Thanks for your note! I would expect a similar result but don't have all your specs... residential refrigerators once cooled really do not command that much draw. Since this video we have upgraded to 200 watts solar standard, so would recommend at least that for you. I hope this helps!

    How about if people are going in and out of the fridge.....

    • @LichtsinnRV
      @LichtsinnRV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good afternoon Joe... thanks for your note! Based on discussions with hundreds of guests we have using these, I really think with normal opening and closing in the course of a day it would have nominal impact... obviously the more times it is opened it would affect performance, but over the course of a day, with normal opening, I would not think this would have a significant impact.
