The song expresses the sadness that Dolores felt when she separated from her family to become a rock star and how alone she felt on that occasion. The song also recalls the happiness of her childhood and how she misses it.
A really enjoyable reaction. To me the song encapsulates the bittersweet irony of how having a stable and loving upbringing gives you the confidence to leave it and go out into the world (the idea of parents’ role being to give their children roots to grow but then wings to fly).
Every time I hear Dolores sing I tear up, I just wish she could have been with us still 😢 It’s a beautiful song and relatable with, I think you got the idea of what it’s about, nice interpretation.
