Counterattack of Ukrainian servicemen in the Kherson region

- The Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated another settlement in the Kherson region - the village of Ivanivka. Only the destroyed military equipment remained from the Russian occupiers there. Now the Ukrainian military is preparing to launch a major counteroffensive in the south. A great artillery battle is approaching - as this is the most used weapon on both sides of the front line. Our correspondent Anastasiya Zhuk spoke with Ukrainian defenders.

They have lost their weapon production capacity, they have lost much of their old equipment, have little ammo left for it, predictible logistic lines, they are on flat ground, they have a 2-3 sided disadvantage and are out numbered in artillery 10 to 1 while they still try and hold a ww1 style trench line. 'This' is the path to victory? When the west hasnt sent more then a few brigades worth of kit and no time to train on it?

Putin has too much of a tight grip on power for that to be a likely outcome, and if we're being totally honest, Ukraine isn't exactly the kind of country to be looked to as a "defender of freedom." Not enough freedom in Ukraine for that to be the case.

My hate for Putin and Russia has reached a point where I hope they make the misstake to invade a NATO country. I would love to see the 32 NATO countries wipe out Russia, just like the allies wiped out Nazi-Germany. Russia would likely thrive into a prospoerous democratic country with happy citizens if they got rid of communism and dictatorship. Greetings from Sweden as proud new NATO members.

At the end of the Civil War in Mozambique, the country was littered with millions of land mines and unexploded artillery pieces. It ended up that it was found that the most economical and effective way to clear land of mines etc was to Train especially grown rats. They were cheaper to train then dogs. Dogs would miss some types of mines, rats wouldn't. Rats also proved very effective in finding living people trapped in buildings that seemed to have been completely destroyed. Hopefully, Ukraine has been able to set up something similar to what was done in Mozambique. Especially in the urban setting with destroyed buildings.

Thankfully Ukraine is fertile farmland and they can just use tractors with boom plows and clear tons of land quick and til the soil for next wheat rotation and probably fund it through the United nations mine clearing initiative.

Great to see soldiers still up and running from when the war started, that's a long time to be on the battlefield and not sustain any injuries
Look at the reports from the field nurses. Theyv lost over 80% of their good soldiers. Its mostly new recruits coming in wounded now because thats all thats left. Ukraines conscripts that tried to leave and got pressed into service are now the frontline infantry. State media doing their job of preventing mass panic and shushing the crowds. What a horrible place to live.
