- To celebrate the Blue Blur's 30th Anniversary, we were given the Minecraft x Sonic DLC for the Bedrock version of... Minecraft. Sorry Java players. So today I will see if the content provided is actually worth the price of admission.

Hi. I seemed to have missed something in the video, so I'll address it here. Most characters have a special attack they can use, aside from their dash attack. Tails can "fly" for a few seconds, Knuckles can glide only after using his dash attack in mid air, Amy can double jump, Shadow's dash is broken af because it makes him invincible to badniks when he charges it, and Sonic does nothing. They're pretty useful except for Knuckles' glide.

Shadow isn’t invisible, he just can kill all of the badniks, shadow isn’t invisible to spikes, the blue hazards in chemical plant and such.

wdym sonic does nothing? sonic can accelerate a lot faster than the other characters I mean if you are in first person you would see the aura that comes out which makes him loads of times faster! also again only sonic and tails can spin dash which is weirdthat tails can spin dash and shadow can't, also shadow's dash makes him invincible cause it's chaos control which makes him almost like teleporting.
Tbh, when I first bought it. I was amazed by everything. But now that you mention it, it could have had some improvements here and there. But yeah, for me personally, it was worth it. (And speaking of the other cosmetic items, I won't even bother. Expect the emotes. I like them) Solid 9/10 for me.

Ngl, its amazing how this was made in minecraft. Man bedrock edition has such mapping support overshadowed by minecoins

Personally, I found great enjoyment in the adventure mode of the game. It took a long while to get used to, but once I got the hang of how everything worked, it was, and still is, really fun to just run through some levels just for fun. The straight line gameplay doesn't always work, but I think here, it fits well enough with the way the camera works. However, the unique interactivity each level has with breakable walls, switches, hidden platforms, and in the case of Sky Sanctuary, even secret paths that lead to hidden monitors which are pretty fun to get to, make the levels feel unique enough in structure to be fun to come back to beyond just their aesthetics. I find that some characters are more fun than others to play as, and their special abilities don't add all that much with the way they were implemented, but still, they're all functional enough to use in gameplay. The biggest problem the game faces is dealing with Minecraft's existing engine, which clearly does not lend itself to the platforming speed-based gameplay of Sonic, and doing anything EXCEPT running forward feels like a huge slowdown because of it. The midair slowdown is most noticeable going down downward-leaning ""slopes"", since with the way stairs and slabs are coded to work, while walking up you're simply teleported half a block upwards, when walking downwards it instead acts as if you're just walking off a block, and with your speed maintained it shoots you off the block causing you to slow down thanks to the way midair travel is coded in Minecraft. This is just one of those things where the two games just aren't compatible in some ways, but with what they were able to pull off, I think this DLC did pretty well overall.
It's very fun, very happy this DLC is getting updates to fix a few of the issues.
Just wish the controller layout were sorta different.
I'm neutral on the DLC. One hand, it's neat, the other, it sort of feels like a mediocre fan made thing when it comes to the gameplay.

sorry I was late in this video but yeah you right! it does need improvments such as sonic needs to have better abilities than just accelerate faster and spin dash, Shadow should had spin dash like sonic and tails.
Well, I'm not much of a Minecraft fan, to be honest.
There is a list of mechanics I'm not happy with and it kind of ruins the DLC, wouldn't even buy it on any console.
Anyone who's watching this right now and even though some of the areas is alright I wouldn't even bother wasting money for the DLC, it's just not worth it in my honest opinion. I am a Sonic fan but when it comes to real
constructive criticism and expressing my feedback that's when I know when and when not to purchase content.

There is a reason why you can't but this externally packaged in, this is for Minecraft Sonic Fans.
It wasnt the greatest experience, but it was a nice one for me. The only thing that kinda got to me was how whenever i left an act that was higher than act 2 or 3, i had to reunlock them. Other than that, it was really fun
Yeah. I think having to play all the way back to that act is very annoying. Then again, the randomly generated acts is pretty annoying too.

It's like Sega made this thing specifically to piss people off. How long have we asked for a chao garden and multiple playable characters? Minecraft is NOT what we wanted.
@WWE , Sonic in general is not liked by the gaming community and his fans are the most... "hypercritical" of everything. And hypocritical too. I remember when they were complaining about the "monster of the week" formula and "Sonic's stupid friends". Now they're complaining that "the meta era is never ending" and they want the adventure formula back. But at the same time they bash anything experimental that Sega makes. And game journalists don't help either. Everyone and their grandma has heard of IGN hot takes, such as "sOnIc WaS nEvEr GoOd".

You can only use the skins in a normal world. The levels are exclusive to the adventure mode.

I believe they can easily add DLC content to a version that is connected on all platforms, rather than forcing it on an older version. That's my guess.

not a big minecraft player, I thought about getting this for the Adventure Mode, but... If it sucks that much that's a shame.
A big problem I have with 3D Sonics of today is they limit your character choice to Sonic... and.... if you're lucky.. Classic Sonic...
So one that let's you play as Shadow with his Chaos Powers, Amy with her Hammer, and Tails and Knuckles was tempting... but it seems like a "Dancing Bear"
Also I was hoping there would be more characters, like Rouge, Mighty, or Ray... or.. any of the skins really.

What's wrong with playing adventure mode on the switch?
It takes far too long to load in assets when you play through it, making you stop for a bit. Find any gameplay video on it and you'll see.

You have to spin the goal post and bust open the capsule then it will spawn

The issue is the level design. The randomized approach really makes the level too repetitive, especially when you have to go through a few acts of each zone.
The DLC also ruins your Minecraft addons cuz it somehow adds the sonic DLC texture to the world somehow

Imo, from what I can tell, the gameplay look’s bad, Minecraft wasn’t made to be similar to Sonic game’s so it’s so jarring.
It’s a sandbox game while Sonic is a speed or momentum base platformer.
This does not mix, other then that, other’s look fine.
Yeah. I think making 3d versions of Sonic zones would have been better than trying to make a bunch of levels that don't work. At least most of the skins are good.
