  • There have been many GameCube ODE (Optical Drive Emulator) options over the years, from the plug and play GCLoader to the budget-friendly but DIY PicoBoot.
Soon we'll have a new option: the FlippyBoot! FlippyBoot has a lot of great features on paper:
    Solder-free install
Faster loading speed than the SD2SP2
Works alongside the original disk drive
On this stream, we're going to check out an early Beta FlippyDrive unit sent to the channel by TeamOffBroadway. Let's install it, and if we have time, compare it to some other options on the market!

Just use a 256GB SD card and load all the library so you wont need to get it out anymore! It is not a big deal! The big deal woould be WiFi or even Ethernet connection for Lan or even WAN games

Been waiting since macho nacho's video, gave up waiting and bought a Cubeode from ali express. I was ok with waiting 2-3 months, not 7...

Problem is to my side view the place of the sd card slot. Everytime you want to sccess it you need to remove the upper shell

Yes, that's a tiny bit annoying, but there's only a finite amount of games soooooo

There are SD card extension cables you can use to reposition the slot. There's a few being custom-designed specifically for the flippydrive.

Does the SD card need to be formatted FAB32 or can it be anything?

Im almost always watching these streams when they drop. The only i sometimes dont is the NES related items. Nothing to do with you i just have no nostalgia or connection to that console.
Keep up the great work 👍

Does this allow you to save games without a memory card or do you still need an MC?

    • @dubesinhower
      @dubesinhower  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

You will still need a memory card. I was using a Memcard Pro on stream so maybe it was confusing

I believe you need to wire a switch to change from JPN to USA BIOS. It's the simplest mod for a GC; I've done it on a few JPN Spice consoles.

A Gamecube with the gameboy player attached on it is what we could call today Xbox series X's ancestor! GameCube was ahead of its time, its a pity it finished last during its era! When I think PS2 with its awful graphics has sold 135 millions more than GameCube pisses me off!

I really didn't understand the hate for it back in the day. I had mine with all kinds of intec add-ons and I freakin loved it! Twin snakes blew my mind. It definitely was looked at as the bottom console at the time though.
