- In today's episode we'll be taking a closer look at one of my favorite dress / work watches for under $500 or P25,000. This is the SEIKO Presage Zen Garden Open Heart (SSA379J1). As the name implies, it's inspired by Japanese Zen Gardens! It's such as beautiful watch and it's my favorite piece for this specific price point.

Check Orient Bambino
At under 200USD, the Orient Bambino is really probably your best bet. If you're willing to go to around 300USD, your options open up a lot more. Some of the Presage line opens up, the cheaper Seiko Cocktail Times... and a lot of dressier microbrands start to open themselves up at around the 300USD price point. (Check out De Guzman and Co as well as Graf Zeppelin!)

Seiko is originally called Seikosha. One of those watches in history that is actually worn by those Kamikaze pilots (Shinpū Tokubetsu Kōgekitai) tends to be issued Seikosha watches that is now called Seiko.

This is not a dress watch... By definition dress watches have no complications and are extremely small and thin. This is a very sporty watch but people think that divers on NATO straps are dress watches because James Bond (a military man) did it so I guess everything is formal to Americans now
