I followed these steps but, instead of backing up to an external drive, I just plugged in to my target phone. I restarted both phones before I began. Worked like a charm! Thank you sir! Subscribed!
The direct transfer via. USB C to USB C works GREAT and have done this MANY times as I switch phones ALOT. The SmartSwitch app is just ONE of many reasons I ALWAYS use Samsung phones. With the ONE UI interface that offers MUCH customization and the Good Lock suite of add-ons You can "tweak" every aspect of your phone and I just LOVE that option that no other phone brand can do ESPECIALLY Apple phones which are SO blah and closed. I get that MANY people have NO desire or just lack the ability to "tweak" and customize their phones which is WHY so many people like IPhones as they are as about as SIMPLE as SIMPLE and blah as you can get.
Hi, I've used smart switch from my previous phone to create a backup to my PC. But when I restore it via smart switch to my new phone, the data transferred are encrypted and unusable. I've already set up and unlocked the secured folder to my new phone before transferring via smart switch. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank mate!
So, all the files on the storage drive are encrypted and backed up. Could you then be able to transfer files to a laptop folder, or is this just phone to phone?
If I have the files already saved onto n ssd card can I remove the ssd card and put it into a new phone without unlocking it? (I forgot my password for my secure folder)
I'd backed up my items to a thumb drive, and I can "see" them still in there but they aren't accessible & I can't figure out how to transfer the items to the new phone & secure folder.....any ideas?
Secure Folder won't get transferred to any external hard drives or transfer using smart switch. I tried the option shown in this video. It was not showing secure folder to transfer into hard drive.
Hey help me please 😢, I backed up all my files using smart switch to my laptop and I can see secure folder 📂 is also backed up 32gb but I can't open it or restore it back to my new phone it's still sitting in my laptop, please please help 😢
I could be wrong, but most laptops, when connected to a display port, send an output signal. So does your phone, so they are trying to display on each other, and nothing happens. What you need is a monitor that has input, so it's able to see what your phone is sending. Hope that helps
I took my pictures out of secure folder into gallery, then used smart switch to transfer them over the traditional method. It works. Took a while to suss ot out, but it's possible
first create a secure folder on your S24 phone then disable the secure folder on your old phone and connect two phone with a cable then on the new phone setting: account and backup -- transfer date for device setup -- receive date from old phone -- App-- choose secure folder , on the old phone it will ask for a password of your secure folder after you put it in you are all set !
Establish a Secure folder on the new phone. It will be empty. Then use smart switch and transfer the secure folder from old phone to the new phone. I selected only that folder for the transfer process.
WRONG! Using Smartswitch you do NOT have to have secure folder unlocked to back it up to USB storage and it WILL restore it to a NEW phone providing you have Secure Folder setup and using the same account! I've done this MANY times already and works FLAWLESS! This will ALSO work if you just plug-in a cable from your OLD phone to NEW phone! NO need to have anything unlocked!
@@BlueYoghurt ; When you do your backup or transfer from the old phone using SmartSwitch you have to select "custom" so that you can select the Secure Folder and it will transfer/back it up! I just did this as I make backups of my phone regularly. I use TWO USB drives for this. The FIRST one is for the storage including my files, documents, pictures, music, apps, and the rest. The SECOND drive is strictly for the Secure Folder and have them labeled so I can't get them confused. Just Google "How do I use the Samsung SmartSwitch app" and it will guide you through the steps to make custom backups or transfers to another phone or USB drive. It's NOT that hard or rocket science.
@@BlueYoghurt ; When you use SmartSwitch you MUST select "Custom" backup and select everything INCLUDING the Secure folder in the options! Once you restore this backup to a "new" Samsung Galaxy 'S' device your Secure Folder will be installed with the same PIN code you had on the old phone. The last few times I did this even my bio-metric data transfered on S23's and up! ALSO, you MUST be using the same Samsung account login for this to work. I have switched to MANY different Galaxy S series phones just in the last 3years and the SmartSwitch app hasn't let me down yet! As far as I know the Secure Folder ONLY works on Galaxy 'S' series phones so your 'A' and 'M' series phones are a NO GO and may not be even available in all regions of the world. I'm in the USA and have had NO issues with the 'S' series. Hope this helps!
We can bypass the Knox security in Samsung. Recently, my secure folder of s22 ultra got locked in no reason. Before that never linked the secure folder with Samsung account and didn't add bio-metric to unlock it. The only option I was having is to enter correct pw for every 24 hrs. When I went to service center and called customer care to get it unlocked. They said it can't be unlocked without password. But I never gave up and didn't uninstall because the data inside the folder is everything to me. After various tests and trails, I've bypassed the Secure folder security and unlocked without password.

This needs to have way more views! Thank you!
I don't have an external hard drive. Can I transfer the files from the old phone to my laptop and then connect the laptop to the s24 as you did?
Where to get external drive?
you are the king.. thanks a lot

You're a life saver, sir!!
I wonder, if you can move yr pictures or filed out of secure folder first, then use smart transfer to move them over, gonna try that tomorrow
So, all the files on the storage drive are encrypted and backed up.

The secure folder are encrypted for secure folder. But I have not checked for other file types

Most of the people that need their secure folder transferred just have porn on it 🤣
Damn right and it's from my wife so I need it 😂

Is there a way to do all of this from a laptop? My screen is broke and I can't access it.

How? My new phone has no secure folder backup files after I restored it. The storage usage is still the same, not increasing or decreasing.

Backup to you Samsung cloud, instead of selecting storage. Restore to the new device.
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Why is this so fucking complicated!!!
