Your suggestion of raising the front end off the ground with the loader is a good idea. Was having trouble getting grease into the front axle pivot grease fittings. This solved this issue. Thanks.
Dude you absolutely Rock!!! I have a Kubota L3901 myself and honestly had no idea where all of the grease fittings where up until now!!! Thanks Again...Great Info!!!!🚜💯💯
There are a couple more that are on my Kabota tractor. One is on the steering wheel linkage and two more under the seat. Also, if you have a cutter, don't forget the universal joints.
This was exactly the video I needed for finding all the grease fittings under my tractor. I just ordered a lock n' lube for myself also. Thanks for putting this together!
Awesome video especially for us folks new to tractors. I saw you had a nice maintenance checklist sheet. Any chance you could share for a us newbies so we don’t miss anything. Cheers.
Good video, Martin. Maintenance of the tractor will save money, time n and frustration down the road. Enjoyed a full watch. Have a fine upcoming weekend.
Nice video sir! So many people neglect maintenance on their equipment and it's so easy and cheap and saves so much in the end. One thing to make the video better, would be watching you grease my tractor and backhoe Lol. Until your next video
LOL! No problem! All you have to do is give your tractor and backhoe to me. I could use the spares. But then again, it wouldn’t be your tractor and backhoe anymore, would it? Oh well, the offer still stands. 😁
Very nice video. I bought one of those grease zerk fitting after seeing how easy you connected. Off topic - I love all of those lights that you have attached to your ROPS but what I'm really interested in is the 2 tool boxes. I just have the factory original and it is way too small for anything but the bare essentials. Would you do a quick video on where you got them and how they are mounted? Thank you
Thank you! I already did that video. You’ll find it in my Tractor Mods playlist along with one on the LED lights and several more mod videos. Thanks for watching!
Nicely done video Martin! I wish that was a red tractor you did the video on! lol This will help a lot of people! Enjoyed watching! Have a great weekend!!
Thanks, Tommy! I’ll have one for greasing the FEL fairly soon. I don’t have a belly mower - just a 3 point rotary cutter. However, I am about to release a video you asked for earlier: The removal and installation of the FEL. Look for that in a couple of days. Thanks for watching!
Hey Martin...that lock-n-lube is on my Christmas list !! I grease much more frequently than 50 hours. I have a number of heavy equipment operators in my family and two buddies that are hvy equip mechanics. They grease daily under normal use and on heavy use, which is almost daily, they grease again at lunch. Our much smaller equipment is not subjected to quite the same abuse as the big stuff but I still hit 'em at 10 to 15 hrs. Yeah, I'm probably wasting a bit of grease but I feel better. Its kinda like that second bowl of ice cream...I just can't help myself !! Good reminder though sir... One of these days, I should show you my pneumatic grease set up with a 30 gallon barrell....LOL You'd be in hog heaven !!
Merry Christmas, Wendell! I hope Santa brings you one! They are wonderful. I grease my tractor frame every 50 hours per the manual, but I grease my FEL and backhoe every 10 hours per the manual. I’m sure I waste grease because I squirt it in until I see fresh grease seeping out. Grease is cheap. Equipment repairs often aren’t! Sounds like you have a good greasing system. I am not at all surprised. LOL. Thanks for watching!
How's she goin"? Another great maintenance video!!! I'm doing some maintenance vids for my Massey Ferguson GC2300 too so we have a bit of over-ride!!! Oh well the more the merrier!! Thanks for posting and take care!!
My understanding is that the tractor itself gets greased every 50 hours and attachments like front end loaders and backhoes get greased every 10 hours. Of course, it won’t hurt to grease more often if you prefer. Thanks for watching!
Good morning DIY! Keeping it greased and maintained. All good! I think I saw a little space in that new garage for me and my B2601....LOL. Just over in the corner where it's warm. I promise I won't get in the way. :)) Cheers!
Hi GP! LOL There's certainly plenty room, but I think Big Orange would be jealous and he doesn't like to share his space. Heck, I have to ask nicely for him to let me in there! Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Effrain! Here’s a link to the video on the light bar installation which has all the info on the light bars: th-cam.com/video/lXfj3ZLKpkU/w-d-xo.html
Hi Tony! Yes, I highly recommend it. It makes greasing SO much easier with it’s easy-on, easy-off mechanism. I also recommend getting the right-angle adapter for zerks in tight places. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. Just greased my l3901 for the first time today. Do you also grease the loader every 50 hours? I’ve heard some people say every 10 hours.
The manual says to take them off, but the breather plugs let excess grease out so I don’t. If you have any doubts, just follow the manual. Thanks for watching!
Sorry I'm a tractor newbie... you said (as it says in the manual) to use NLGI 2 or NLGI 1 grease... what is the deciding factor? is one better than the other? also... what pressure is required to grease a kubota BX tractor... I see that grease guns are rated at various pressures...
Hi Tom! Nothin’ wrong with being a “tractor newbie”. I’ve had my L3901 for about 2.5 years so I still consider myself a newbie in many ways. When I was deciding on a grease, I searched sites like TractorByNet to see what seasoned tractor owners used. One grease that kept coming up as a good one was Lucas “Red N Tacky”, which I think is an NLGI-2 grease. It is a heavy duty grease for heavy equipment. I really like it because when I’m greasing, it is easy to see when the new red grease pushes out the old blackened grease. That way I know I have squirted enough grease in a zerk. As for pressure, I just have a pistol grip hand-operated grease gun that works just fine. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
You didn’t mention the loader. Do you use the same grease in the loader? The manual recommends high quality grease designating extreme pressure and containing molybdenum disulfide. If you don’t use the same grease, do you keep two grease guns one for each grease type?
just got my new kubota l2501 and i just hit 10 hours and i went through the front end loaders grease points and they were okay. but when i greased the rest of the tractor no grease came out after applying a lot of grease. should i be concerned?
Hi John! Yes, you should be. You should see grease oozing out of joints and breather ports. Did it feel especially hard pumping grease into any of them? Thanks for watching!
Crap I went and greased all the F.E.L. and rear equipment and forgot all about the steering and other ones. Damn well time to put my coat on and get it done.
@@DIYMyWay I’ve learned a lot from your videos. My 2501 was delivered today. I just wish I could figure out how to make quality videos so I could help people too. Thank you for your time, and for helping guys like myself.
That doesn’t sound good. Do you get any back pressure on the grease gun or does it go in easily? On mine the grease pumps in easily and grease starts coming out the breather port fairly quickly.
Your suggestion of raising the front end off the ground with the loader is a good idea. Was having trouble getting grease into the front axle pivot grease fittings. This solved this issue. Thanks.
Glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching!
Liked and subbed, as a first time Kubota owner, I find this channel to be pure gold.

See, I knew this was exactly what you needed, so I made it just for you. Just took you a while to find it. LOL! Thanks for watching!
Another great video for a new tractor owner like me. Thanks!
Great information! Much better than the owners manual! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful to you! Thanks for watching!
This was great. Saved me from Searching through my owners manual. Keep up the good work.
Glad it was helpful to you, Jeremy! Thanks for watching!

Thank you! That check list is a copy of the one in my owners manual. There should be one in your manual too, and specifically for your tractor.
Good video, Martin. Maintenance of the tractor will save money, time n and frustration down the road. Enjoyed a full watch. Have a fine upcoming weekend.
Thanks, Don! Right you are, sir!

Hey is it a MUST that you remove the breather plugs from the front and back axle supports before greasing...Or can you get by with leaving them on??
The manual says to take them off, but the breather plugs let excess grease out so I don’t. If you have any doubts, just follow the manual. Thanks for watching!
DIY My Way Ok Thank You Sir!!! That’s all I needed to know and Thanks for your swift response!!!!🚜💯💯
Hello, Thank you. I don' t have that type of lube connector, could you tell me about it and if you like it. My old one is pretty messy.
It’s called a LockNLube and it is AWESOME! You can get it for $30 on Amazon and it is well worth. So easy to get on and off of grease zerks.
@@DIYMyWay Thank you so much. I know what Santa will be bringing me.
did anyone has a word document of the checklist in the final seconds of the video?
