Thanks! Yes, rear deck removal is required and time consuming, unfortunately. I have another video on that. Make sure you dont put it all back together until you are happy with the new suspension install. Good luck!

seeing this makes me long for a 540i 5spd (wagon). such a clean looking M5 from when BMW new had to make M cars ( and when they made actual wagons).
I normally use two ratchet straps to compress the spring so it is a little bit easier to get out.

Just get the control arm in a horizontal position and torque the bolt because you want the rubber bush basically in a fairly neutral position.

Great video. Are you selling your style 65's? I am EpicM on M5 Board if you want to PM. What is your impression of the GC/Koni suspension? I was thinking of going Dinan/ Koni.

Style 65s are safe in the garage and soon to be restored. Not planning on selling those. Im loving the GC setup so far. Car performs much better than the Bilstein & Intrax spring setup I had before. Definitely a stiffer ride, as you should expect from any aftermarket coilovers, but still compliant for street use. Thanks for watching!

how did the bilstein ride was it still comfortable for daily drive? looking into buying some b8 for my 540
Cant go wrong with Bilstein and a good set of springs to match. I have run B8s with H&R Springs on two of my cars with great results.

Will that suspension good in my 540i?
My understanding is the 540i shares the same suspension setup, but I would call Ground Control just to be sure.

Where u get the coilovers?
Directly from Ground Control. These kits are usually made to order. Took about 2 months to receive.
