Really enjoyed making this video! Thanks for the ideas!
Also, i completely thought it was the Chinese Chili oil you get when ordering scallion pancakes or dumplings. It was habanero chile..... and it was HOT.
That sounds amazing 😍
Your videos are up there with the Best
Keep doing these videos buddy love them bless 🆙
Probably not worth $29, but you can definitely tell it’s a top-notch dawg.
Love the videos, man!
Jesus Christ what a robbery that is, love the vids chris keep it up
For those of us from the North, $29 US is $39.35 Canadian at the current exchange rate. Oh boy. Glad you enjoyed the toasted potato bun and the "NOT CHINESE" chilli condiment.😊 This was a really fun Instalment.
Great review and I love your comment on it opening the door to further inflated prices! I’m so sick of these food critics that feature 💩 that’s known to be outrageous $$$. Again, love the honesty and clean 💧
"What's up Boss?" Chris, you are all NYC!!!
Damn, that snap though!!! Yum.
It did have a really good snap. Juicy.
No way paying 29 $ for a hotdog great honest review
No way I’m paying even $8 for a hot dog. A gourmet hotdog is an oxymoron. I even feel like $8 is insane but I would pay at a private event with limited options possibly if I was starving.
a5 wagyu hotdog 🤭
These people are ripping off ignorant wealthy people..
Like the channel Alidoro. Best of luck to 100k
Thanks a million!
“Not Chinese”😂
lol another guy popped up on my recs and I instantly thought of you. one step ahead haha
The beginning of the video cracked me up 😂😂
Hi Chris Great Video. What No Lap Dance Included.LOL.
You could get 6 Katz's hot dogs for $30.00
Only hotdog reviewer I trust, for the people by the people!
If you looked like a foreign tourist, a cart would try to charge you 30 bucks..😂
Wahhhhht I was shocked when you said it wasn’t worth it after all the praising. Exciting review and shoutout to the habenero chili! 😅
I'm cheap so anything over $10 is too expensive lol. I'd say $15 would be fair with the chili and sauces. Sucks you didn't get your foot massage. 😂 great video.
Chris spitting the truth !! nice work mate 😬🌭 Agreed billy is the best.. Would be great if you did a quick tour of The Hugh food court ✌
Those menu prices are insane for such basic food items.
Bidenics before Biden street hot dog 1.75 after 3.50+
a fancy restaurant that is paying 40,000+ a month rent and 15+ staff in nyc = $30 hotdog. min wage is 16.20 a hour for non tipped. Just payroll and rent per DAY is prob $5,000. Add the cost of food, utilities, insurance, nyc licenses and fees. It is crazy. BTW They have since closed.
@@R0YB0T I wonder why 😅😅😅
GET THIS MAN TO 50K SUBSCRIBERS ALREADY
Love the video Chris
Definitely not a dirty water hot dog! I really would like to try it just to say that I’ve had it! Love your channel! Thanks!!
I'm so glad I caught this.
I heard that snapin Idaho 😂
Good intro and fun switcharoo video
The fact that people pay that much for a hot dog… insanity lol
And back in the kitchen, they are saying , a sucker born every minute 😅
❤A $29 hot dog!? Id better have someone massaging my feet etc😂😂😂❤ 0:15
You’re the real deal brother, thanks for calling out the gimmicky reviews on TH-cam not only about food but also other things.
I appreciate that!
Looks well worth the price tag!
You should absolutely hit Smittys hot dog wagon at Crossbay blvd. and Pitkin ave in Ozone Park, Queens NY
Wow, Chris! That hot dog DID look good I must say, but...Even at Serendipity3 (known to be pricey), you can get a great footlong hot dog with fries, cole slaw, and pickles for $19.95. Of course, you'd have to bring your own "Chinese sauce" 🙂
Or 3 of those hotdogs for $30..MAYBE (though I'd prolly still skip it at the last minute)..but $30 for 1 fuggettaboutit!😆
You should add a "percentage chance of getting mugged" score to all your reviews. This one would rate very well, this high end place looks super safe!
It is expensive real estate. love this channel, love hot dogs
nice to see an honest review
No thank you im good 😂 I can buy a whole pizza for that
This looks good, but, I’m a fan of the hot dog stands that you go to. I’m in Texas and just bought the Sabretts red onion sauce from the grocery store here that carries it here. I do believe that the red onion sauce is the New York difference! Keep on doing what you are doing my man! Happy hot dog!
Nice looking dog. If I paid $10 for it, I'd be okay. $29?!?!? Fuggetabouit!
WOW. Freakin Wow. $15 w/crinkle-cut fries. Tops. Whew. Definitely seen the juice on first bite. Bun and dog looked amazing, I'll give them that. One thing I gotta ask tho: Was it stove hot when presented?
It was not.
@@NYCHotDogStands 😔 Sorry to hear that. Seems nothing is anymore that's meant to be. Appreciate the video as always. 🍺
Wow, that is shocking. I get that a place like that has to pay a lot of rent but charging that price is flat out robbery. Hotdogs are supposed to be "cheap and accessible".
A lot of Indian restaurants do a similar thing with some foods which are "cheap" but then charge a premium...
So annoying but thanks for the honest review brother. Much appreciated 👍
I believe the restaurant has a michelin star... could be wrong about that
Its no robbery. Its just an upscale restaurant. No one is forcing anyone to eat there.
@@nychris2258 proof ?
NY Times missed the coverage of Mischa staff roughing up TH-camr after hot dog review 🎉 🌭
Yeah...over hyped! Thanks for the real review. I do believe that the Brooklyn Diner Dog is a better value in that range with fries..keep the reviews coming! Spring is around the corner and so is baseball season..are you going to the ballparks?
New York prices never disappoint 😂
Having the convenience of sitting down in a restaurant I would probably slice it across in small bite sized sections and try some of the condiments out in each bite. Before you put anything on it with the ends of the dog sticking out and raised up on each end if you put some wheels on it and it resembles the Oscar Meyer Weiner mobile. 🌭
Maybe this place is for country folks in the city. Country folk with money of course. This is the kind of place my uncle would go and then have a story about the 30 dollar hotdog for a long time. If he spent it and i got to hear about it... Worth it. But for just getting something to eat. Not a chance.
I'm thinking that those condiments are supposed to be poured on top of the hot dog, instead of being used as dips?
They are. But I wanted to try each one separately.
I had a $19 fish & chip meal on Governor's Island (good but portion size was a bit small for the price) and I thought of this video because of how expensive it was. Speaking of Governor's Island, if you haven't already would you consider going there and see what hot dog or other eateries exist there? Would be an interesting video to make if one doesn't exist already on your channel
29$$ Pass...love your you tube..and all the NYC hot dog carts..etc...
You talkin about Billy’s by the park? Yeah that dog had a good snap. It looked like beef. No thanks to the foofy condiments. They made a 28 dollar profit 😆. Hey you’re on Lexington Ave. baby. Thanks man. 👋🏽
Hot dog looks good. The issue is the bun. It's too small for a hot dog that size and shouldn't fall apart. Good video. Let me know when you want to come to Jersey for real hot dogs.
MEANWHILE: THERE IS A TRUCK IN NEWARK RAN BY "THE HOT DOG LADY" THAT HAS THE BEST HOT DOGS UP NORTH/EAST COAST
They went out of business because New Yorkers are not stupid- $29 hot dog is ridiculous. Would much rather get a push cart dog or papaya dog for a lot less
Thank you for doing this!
You should create an app for hotdog carts. So, we know where all the quality dogs are at. Regular price…$3 hot dog, $4 hot sausage… etc.
At $29 for a hot dog you would think they could afford tables that aren't wobbly!!
Only if hell froze over then I'd pay $29 bucks for a hot dog 🌭
The dog looks very juicy. And the chili sauce reminds me of "Lao Gan Ma", which is a Chinese product (according Wikipedia).
The hamburger seemed more reasonable for $29 since it comes with fries. No way I would pay $29 for a hotdog, unless it came with a lapdance from a hot model type girl.
Good video I’m with you
Oh, heck no. 29.00 for a hot dog. That’s crazy.
Twenty Nine Dollars! Hahahahahahahaha 😂!!!
It’s 5.00 for the dog but 24.00 for the cloth napkin and ambiance. I notice it didn’t come wrapped in gold foil. Don’t forget to tip. 😂
$29 for a hot dog? 😮 That's straight down ridiculous.
No matter how good it is, IMO nothing can make something as simple as an hot dog so special, that the price tag of $29 could be justified.
Chris did the hotdog have a snap when you bite into it, but that is expensive for a hotdog? Also I love hotdogs but I would not pay that for one hotdog.
Who even wants a hot dog that big? Some of these prices are crazy. Have you ever tried the $23.95 15 Bite hot dog at Brooklyn Diner on 57th and Seventh, or at their location in Times Square?
Trying that next.
@@NYCHotDogStands Even though I live in the Gramercy area, when the hot dog urge hits, I make my way up to Gray's or Billy's. No $20 dogs for me.
Hey man, I enjoyed the review. Like you said.. it is mainly about the experience. I imagine they are borderline Michelin restaurant by the style of their serving plates and portions. The only thing missing from the experience would be a server constantly checking on you, assisting you with the meal, catering to whatever you need. I agree with you that $29 is steep and they should lower the price, even for the “Michelin style” experience. But I personally think $21 would be the sweet spot for them rather than $15.. you are in NYC after all.
Chris, my family and I are going to NYC soon and I'd love to have a dog with you somewhere downtown, brother.
Send me an email! Let me know some dates.
Bro i need your answer , i have two questions which one is your favorite:
1. NYC hotdog (with onions, saurkraut, relish, mustard) or burger (double beef cheese, pickles, onions, mistard, tomato sauce) ?
2. Nyc hot dog or Chicago hot dog ?
I hope you answer my questions
I would buy it as a first timer. But no more after that! 😊
$29? NO THANK YOU.
Fax....no way I'd buy hotdogs for a week and still have money left
it’s more a sausage than a hot dog
Enjoy!
not a eating on the go Sabrett dog, but looked like a have seat enjoy the view type thing. I did notice that the lobster roll was only $10 bucks more than the dog. I wonder how this place will do in the long run... Hey keep dogging it buddy...
It's got some kick!
Of course they closed down. It's offensive nomatter how good it is. You can get a crazy good hot dog to cook at home for under 5 bucks. Crazy good.
Katz's is $5 and it blows this away.
Curious about your taste in Mustard's. Looks like most street vendors have Yellow (Salad) mustard. Do you run into Spicy Brown Mustard's on the streets ? Heinz use to have a real good one, that is till Kraft merged with them, Now it seems to be Kraft's version in a jar labeled as Heinz and it terrible. Best Spicy Brown Mustard so far that I found is made by Bell-View, called Hot & Spicy. Made in Pa. near where I live. Enjoy your street view direct observations.
making a nice little meal
100% agree with your assessment. Given the context I could stretch it to 18.00-19.00$- since a lot of "complementary sauces" are included...Now, if they included fries with it (cheap to make, even top quality), maybe another stretch to...25.00 to 26.00$?
I would say with fries.....$18.00
Thanks lucky s is pretty good to
Did this place close down?,is it located on east 53rd?
Closed. Wonder why?
This restaurant just closed
I wonder why...lol
So when you poop it out, is it worth $15 then? 😂 🌭 💩
Chris, Google Calgary Stampede $100 hotdog.
This guy definitely knows how to mouth a hotdog 🌭 😂
A wagyu hotdog without the wagyu lol :)
Waiting for that BLT review sir
I live in this city my whole life and never had a hot dog from a street vendor before. Only time I had hot dog outside of grocery store is Nathan's
That’s a $35 hotdog 🌭 all day. You gotta sweet deal there.
Scored home run by Frank the tank raw Dogg it rules
I was excited to see the soups on the menu, but I looked up pictures of the soup on Yelp and they all look weird.
So what was the “not” Chinese chili 😂
You should get at least two hotdogs for that price.
I guess I'm old school but IMHO no hot dog is worth more than $5. Great video though!
Even at $5 that’s too much. Damn I miss the $1 hot dog days.
That's dog has some snap to it my friend...
Haha I just saw someone else review on it was gonna tell u about it
It’s a Nathan dog ! Walmart has a 10 count of Oscar Mayer ( all beef ) for less than $5.00. And, Costco $ 1.50. hot dog ( included with soda ) does not taste good.
Thanks for the tip.
Bruh ??? $29 🤣
Hard pass!!!
Cool NYC vids 👍
WAy too much 29.00 where,'s the Kraut? Best dogs are mcsorley dog with German mustard and fresh kraut 9.00 or so.for 29. It should be a dog made from fillet mignon!
Awesome
