As someone who suffers with severe Fibromyalgia, I know the pain all to well. Mental health conditions do play a big part in the severity of the pain experienced with Fibromyalgia. She speaks about her rape, this cam be a huge trigger to it, i was sexually abused when I was 9 years old by someone who was known to my family, I went through depression from then on, although it was never diagnosed until well into adulthood, I've only just recently got a formal diagnosis of the severity of my depression, I am medicated for it, but it doesn't do much for me. I look up to lady Gaga, not just for her talent, but also for how she manages to deal with her Fibromyalgia and still do what she loves. Gaga, you rock !!!!

I hope she gets enough funds to create a proper study of Fibromyalia and CFS. I suffer from Fibro for 2 years now and it sucks when your body is so sensitive to almost everything and triggers so much pain that my husband can't even hug me tight anymore nor sleep close at night. It is so isolating and so sad that there is so little understanding about it. People thinks that you are just acting.

I have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis and chronic migraines im in pain every single day 😢 i cant walk ten steps cuz my feet and legs are throbbing! Yesterday i was disinfecting my door nobs and theres five sets in my apartment after i was done my hands where swollen and in pain 😢 living in pain is not only exhausting but also mentally draining, anxiety, depression is something you also have to struggle with when you have chronic pain.

I also have Fibromyalgia, causing fatigue 3 years after it began. But my severe throbbing pain 24/7 went away when I was prescribed Neurontin (Gabapentin). The pain stopped once the doctor increased the dose to 500 mg daily. I recommend you mentioning this medication to your doctor. Neurontin has relieved me from seven health issues, including sugar drops and panic attacks. Take care.

It’s good that she highlights mental health and fibro together. I have had fibro body aches daily for 3 years and nothing I have tried so far has cured me but I am looking at it now as a mental health issue linked to emotional distress of my past. I got fibro after losing my job and having a massive panic attack followed by 2 months of severe insomnia.

Look into FM/a test. They are on the net. This is paid for by Medicare since 2014. You will get more insight to the disorder. It upsets me that LGG does not know about this test.

I too am a sufferer of fibromyalgia, the majority of people have no idea what it is and think it’s all in the head, I can assure everyone it certainly is not, The problem needs to be understood, we as sufferers need understanding because we don’t know from one day to the next how the pain is going to be. So be kind those people who think we’re head cases, we try our best to deal with it day to day.

Yes! Well said! I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well. I also have gone through a tremendous amount of trauma. Childhood trauma, childhood neglect and poverty, divorce as an adult which was traumatic as well and family issues. This is a real illness and any dr. that says it doesn’t exist is stupid. It’s very real neuropathic pain. Think a toothache, but throughout your body. It’s essentially nerve damage. Mine got worse after having s c-section with my second son. Praying she helps this community and helps Fibromyalgia patients get better and earn some respect that we all deserve! Love Lady Gaga! I wish I could give her a hug and thank her!

Sandi, I agree trauma and stress definitely has something to do with it. I’ve suffered heaps of trauma, it catches up with you and can ruins your health. It’s a shame that some Drs don’t believe fibromyalgia is real, if they had it they’d soon know it’s real.

Fibromyalgia hurts, way more pain than some will ever have, so next time you ask someone "you ok ?" don't think they look ok so they must be, if you don't want to know don't ask. There are a lot of people out there who have a illness and the fact is there own lifestyle has done it, the way they live there life brought it on. there is no way on God's earth this can be brought on by lifestyle. Thanks to lady Gaga for getting it out. i hope everyone is doing ok big hugs to all xxxxx

I’m from aust & I have suffering with fibro the last 8yrs, but 7yrs prior I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arithritis an autoimmune disease. It was all bought on by trauma. Fibro is a mental illness cause I had a breakdown during my seperation that I had anxiety, ptsd depression & most of the time I kept it in. In the beginning I wasn’t that bad with fibro but now I suffer constantly & it’s chronic. I can never plan anything, don’t want to see many people, bright lights & noises annoy me. The worst thing is that some people have never heard of it so they don’t understand how bad it is. It’s called the invisible syndrome cause you can look great like lady Gaga but suffer so much. The answer I always get is what is it then when I tell them it’s but you look so good. I want to say to lady Gaga thanks for talking about it but please bring it up more often cause people will listen to you. We must find a cure. Thank you so much for what your doing & may god bless you ❤😢

Bright lights I can’t stand, even sun light and if a place is too noisy I’m out of there.
It’s a strange miserable illness, as we look normal but feel crap. I no longer care if people believe fibromyalgia is real or not. I just think if they had it for a couple of days they’d soon know about it. Good luck to all you fibromyalgia sufferers out there, and a very Happy New Year, may 2024 find a cure. 😊

Ohhh that's why I have been in severe stomach pain and can't even eat properly for four years now .. I discovered recently that my mental health has never been good at all aand that my chronic pain was just a reault of years of trauma and silent inner fight. I also started to remeber that I have always had the sympthoms since I was 6 or 7 years old. The lack of treatments caused me this chronic pain and my amune system has become very weak and fragile. And things just get worse with time with more struggles in life along with that untreated trauma.
I am a 28 years guy and I was bullied so hard, beated down and raped when I was young several times, and when I was a teenager, I used to get sexually harrased at school. Never dared to tell my larents becauae they were always bullying me over my weight and curvy body and soft hands and even beat me .. I think I became bipolar at that time because I was a little more hypersexual for a 12 year old boy. It's like I was meant for sex and I should've let people do what they want with my body
The last time I got raped was 3 just years ago, I am a bisexual went to a date with a guy, and then he wanted to have sex and I couldn't but he raped me and I let him, I went to shock and didn't do anything to the point that I bleed.
I was sexually harassed just months from now of someone grabed my body and chest so tight and hard without my permession and again didn't do anything because I didn't know what to do anymore, I just went numb. I am just tired and helpless and felt nothing at the moment, I have become an easy target because of that and because of shame, self hate and weakness I have devoloped and even carelessness sometimes which is very strange and scary. It's like I hate myself to the point I just don't care about my body.

Keep shoulders raised and close to neck, do not wear bras. Always sleeping on the back and immobilizing the arms with pillows under the shoulders eliminates the traction of the suprascapular nerve. Limiting external shoulder rotations and arm movement can be a way of diagnosis if pain / fatigue subsides and helps relieve symptoms. The entrapment of the suprascapular nerve in the scapula produces traction on the brachial plexus. As a defense, muscle contracture is caused in the back, neck and jaw to avoid root traction. As a result of this, myofascial pain as well neuropathic pain of the brachial plexus and trigeminal appears. Fibromyalgia occurs when the local muscle contracture is not sufficient to prevent damage to the tracted / affected nerves and the body attempts to adopt a fetal position to protect the upper trunk. Movement against the fetal position of the body causes pain. Trigger points are the counted muscles, used to adopt the fetal position, and when forcing them, they produce micro-tears of fibers, triggering generalized pain. Thumbs up if it worked for you. Unverified, non-medical.

Hi Sanddox. Boy, do I understand how discouraged you are. My heart goes out to you. I don't have a cure for you, but I do have a suggestion that may be a consideration .... diet. If you haven't already done this, there are many foods that will trigger flare ups. I've had FM for over 20 years and if I eat properly (that is when I have the energy to cook!), I do have some better days or at least I feel better. #1 culprit is sugar. Any tiny, little, scrumptious morsel of sugar can shut you down. Soft drinks, cookies etc.. Nightshade vegetables such as potatoes (that includes potato chips and french fries), tomatoes (that includes ketchup and spaghetti sauce, etc.), eggplant, even smoked paprika, chillies, peppers can trigger a flare up (there are others). Try cutting out a few of these foods and see if it helps some and at least gives you some relief and hope. Then start experimenting by introducing some of these back into your diet to see what they do and which ones are your real enemies! Drink lots of unchlorinated water (spring water is best; reverse osmosis is ok but can cause GI problems). I know what you're going through; hang in there. Ride the wave when you have to rather than exhausting yourself by resisting it on days when you just can't. If you are religious, every night, despite how rotten my day has been, I thank God for a wonderful day and I offer up my pain, my discouragement, etc etc to Him for those who are in need of His mercy...and then I let it go. He is much stronger than I am.
God love you and I hope you find some little ways to bring joy back into each day. Never feel alone Sanddox.

Fibromyalgia symptoms are heightened by any emotional stress. The symptoms of fibromyalgia maybe lessened via therapy, especially if you have had any difficult experiences. But mental health therapy can not cure fibromyalgia. I think this difference needs to be clear, so fibromyalgia is not treated as though it is a psychological symptom.
We can somewhat have control over psychological responses, I have no control over my fibromyalgia

Any and all abuse is horrific and sexual abuse is the worst kind. It's my opinion that the majority of fibromyalgia is as a result of sexual abuse. It causes irreversible lifelong damage. The solution is to be abso-fucking-lutely brave enough to heal the trauma and pass it on and equally, if not important, is to be kind to babies/children, which means, raise, nurture and develop children properly. Everyone should learn about ECE and development. We must nurture and raise healthy people.
And the world doesn't need any more books and shit, it needs healers.

    • @Left-is-right-8192
      @Left-is-right-8192 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Fibro and other chronic pain conditions aren’t correlated with *specific* types of abuse.
However, it is the case that trauma of some kind comes before chronic pain.

    • @sleepinglioness5754
      @sleepinglioness5754 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Fibromyalgia has many causes, eg. car accident, vaccines, immune system, etc.. Trauma can cause fibromyalgia, but perhaps you are saying many who have been sexually abuse may develop FM from that trauma. Sadly, there are too, too many people who have been sexually abused either as a child or young adults. Very sad.

I have fibromyalgia and her definition does not mean trauma from mental illness it the whole body in pain you can't be touched or walk it extremely hurts to get around your legs feel like tons of stones rapped around your legs walking on broken glass your body swells joints are stiff. Exercise doesn't help it makes the system worse. It's an every day pain it doesn't come and go some days are unbearable

I live everyday with pain but I can do everything (almost) that anyone else can do. I don’t believe that it’s caused by trauma because I’ve never been traumatized. I have fibromyalgia and an autoimmune disease , maybe fibro is autoimmune and they just haven’t found a test for it yet ,there are many theories but linking it with mental illness just gives people the idea it’s all in our heads. Thanks for nothing Gaga

Hello , I get your frustration. We’ve been told for so long “it’s all in our heads” I personally have had trauma but I don’t believe that’s the only trigger to getting fibromyalgia or if it’s a trigger at all. That being said so many I’ve came across with fibromyalgia have had some kind of trauma. Like a surgery can even be considered a trauma, like my 2007 cervical spinal fusion that never fixed me and put me in worse pain and I got my fibromyalgia diagnosis after that, not after my really bad childhood trauma. Anyways some say if a parent has fibro their children may get it!? So if it’s only from having a traumatic event or whatever then why does it carry on to our children sometimes!? I just think they don’t know enough and I also believe it’s an autoimmune that they have no testing for. It’s a mystery so the most common thing to blame is the trauma most I’ve came across has been through. I hope one day they really find out what causes fibromyalgia. I’ve taken antidepressants and it doesn’t help me. I’m basically bed ridden with the amount of pain I’m in.

I don’t think she means it’s all in your head. The pain is very real but it may be caused by the brain. Due to some mental health issue, the brain could be secreting certain chemicals or neuro signals into the body which causes the pain. Everyone knows that emotional/mental issues can cause various sicknesses.

I had no choice but to guit my job doctors wrote letter to DMV so i can't drive a car on my own any more being in a car for a period of time kills me i dread riding in a car
I can't walk down the road or go shopping without wheeling myself in a chair. I crenge when i have to walk up steps , wash dishes because my limbs can't hold on to items those cups or plates feel so heavy my
arm's feel like they'll fall off my shoulder. Not a life you want to experience daily unfortunately those with fibromyalgia does.
I'm frustrated by how doctor's can't find a cure. Wanting to blame ptsd, thyroid, or past truama on this phyical illness that bothers us so much it affects our ability to think clearly. No were not going crazy it's insane pain that won't let up you're beginning for it to stop

It is a. autoimmune disease. It is not only a mental health issue. I have had it for 31 years after contracting Mono and it becoming Epstein Barr. It is horrible and just not pain but multiple problems.

We were not meant to live without Jesus Christ. HE we were not meant to live without pain and suffering. It demands us to call on HIM to save us from suffering. And to praise HIM for saving us and restoring us. Praise HIM for blessing us with life to experience all through HIM. Without HIM we are doomed.
