Installing an EK9 steering wheel in an EK9, bet that doesn't happen too often. It's so awesome that you clean everything top to bottom before reinstalling the parts. OCD viewers approve!
i''m rebuilding my EG Civic hatch (B20VTEC - 221whp, tuned adj suspension) at the moment with the premise of "what if the Type R started with the EG?" and I''m taking very valuable notes from you guys. i am really surprised that the EK9 had a very (almost) spartan interior compared to the EG6 (or my EG with the JDM interior and Gathers audio set). i thought the EK9 would have had a similar interior - plastic tub at the boot/trunk, speakers at the rear, etc. after watching this, I am definitely going to rewrite my parts list and to-do list. cheers guys! your videos are extremely helpful and valuable.
Very nicely done . Good details that make a big difference when bringing back one of these icons.only one thing I’ll add to make it even more perfect will be new deck and door speakers to match the head unit
Great job Mike, I used to hate working on interiors you have to remove so many panels to get to where you want to be and I'm talking about the 70-90's, these modern cars look like an absolute nightmare. John UK
Wow that’s amazing how that entire rear hatch area came apart exactly like my Integra. I’ve had the rear apart on my car so many times over the years I could do it with my eyes closed. The seats, carpet, trim panels, everything came apart exactly the same way.
Amazing content, however would make things more helpful for the viewers to know where you sourced the parts especially oem. I live in the Caribbean which is why I’m asking for this. It’s very difficult sourcing oem parts from where I live. Thanks again for what you do and keep the knowledge coming.
By chance do you guys still have the old panels? I am doing a rhd conversion on my ek hatch. I havent been able to find black rear panels. Plus i have a 4 point roll cage so those cutouts are in the perfect spots.
That spare tire cover gotta go man all warped and nasty tbh I would’ve done some OEM+ sorta stuff if possible done led for cluster and HVAC instrument lights Upgrade the speakers And use switchbacks on the headlights turn signals and fender markers still keep it OEM but updated CTR get clear turn signal housings with no irange but then get an orange turn signal bulb in there that defeats the purpose I tend to go with chrome glass ones or LED ones overall nice and clean tho

Agreed, both models share a lot of similarities
It's crazy how simple Hondas are to disassemble compared to other manufacturers, not to mention compared to modern cars.

My HX, similar year, needs those bulbs too. In daylight mine look like they're off, so worn.

Do you know where I can just buy the airbag itself? I have a airbag with no igniter on it and I've been looking for one for over 10 years lol..
Facebook Groups will be a great place to start
I like ek9.. in malaysia the car price for ek9 is very very very crazy...
Oh wow!
where did you get all your oem parts brother i just got one of these myself and im tryna fully restore it back to its stock form
I have a question! I noticed the back of the rear seats were brown/rusted? Is this normal? Or a sign of water/moisture in the boot?
They are normal since the rear seat frame is raw metal
@@ahcgarage thanks for letting me know. My dc2r rear seats are showing such colour and I was worried water was in there somehow. Thanks mate!
What color are the si cluster and climate control bulbs?
Same red
I was reading online the bulbs are clear it is a film on the cluster that gives them the amber look. Are type r clusters red?
That spare tire cover gotta go man all warped and nasty tbh I would’ve done some OEM+ sorta stuff if possible done led for cluster and HVAC instrument lights
Upgrade the speakers
And use switchbacks on the headlights turn signals and fender markers still keep it OEM but updated
CTR get clear turn signal housings with no irange but then get an orange turn signal bulb in there that defeats the purpose I tend to go with chrome glass ones or LED ones overall nice and clean tho
please take off the reserve wheel then clean the bottom. 😊
How do you mean?
