@@epicgriffin65 not really, it's damage scailing is way off. +1/2 base damage is not enough to kill anyone at a reasonable speed past minute 15.
@@epicgriffin65 No, it's not good. The virtue of the garlic is that it steamrolls the first few minutes of the game and then it's a wasted slot rest of the game. But the scaling you get from face rolling the early game might get you into the late game.
@@SilverionX I disagree, it gives areawide knockback (granted a small amount) on literally everything, making the super lategame 25+ minutes much easier when you have garlic, since that is just a spawn hell phase where there are a billion things on screen at all times, though you can make it fairly easily with evolved stuff as well, of the stuff that doesnt evolve, garlic is top tier for its utility purposes as well as scaling purposes

You can walk into frozen enemies without taking damage, it's great for making it around the venus flytraps
Or just walk straight through them, they do little to no damage especially if you happen to have armor

I've played it a lot after the first video came out, and I don't think it does. There's around 5-8 hours until you've seen all the current content, which isn't enough for a full series imo. Regardless it's a very fun game, and I'm looking forward to how it evolves in the future.
lightning ring becomes incredibly powerful as it levels, with each strike dealing damage in a large area, dealing massive damage, with several at once (especially with the duplicator, which is a must have item for any run as far as i can tell)
its good in library, but the best in the game for both levels is the king bible. its survivability and dps are great. pair it with bone and santa water plus upgraded axe and you can stand still and win
@@jpryan90 I'd make the point that if you can't stand still and win your build isn't actually going to win. I think the goat weapon is runetracer. It won't deal the most dmg at the end of the game, but will still be up there not being a waste. Then its main attribute is it will also carry you through the early and mid game while you level your weapons to 8 to evolve.
The best is rune tracer.
Watched one vid and got the game myself. It's so good, especially for only 3 bucks

Why is NL dodging the swarms when he could just walk right into it to get them all.
He probably can't tell he's one hitting them because the hit marker is hard to see.

Garlic is the best early weapon in the game by a huge longshot, lets you hunt down enemies and kill the entire bat swarms for massive extra xp in the early game. But you have to make sure you are actually collecting the exp and standing near the bosses and special bats to actually be doing damage to them.
king bible is garlic but better in late game. you can even get perpetual king bible without evolving it
Early garlic is fantastic for early levelling, I usually take a level or two

Do not disrespect my garlic it is my son and I love him, it is insanely good with the herb "weapon" that gives you invincibility, aoe up, and and the bible, they are very good together and keeps almost everything away from you, Santa water is good with it as well due to the aoe as well
Garlic is god tier early game but falls off very fast later and doesn't provide enough pushing to be worth it.

This game directly caters to everything I adore and I just know it’s going to be an unhealthy addiction. Can’t believe it’s only 3 bucks.
This game just looks so not fun to me in so many ways, but all of the people praising it are making me very happy. I'm glad we live in a time where every single person has some game that caters to what they enjoy and want out of it, and that due to peoples different tastes we get such a wide array of games to choose from and try out

Once he realizes that this game is not about shmovement but about racing the power curve and collecting gems as fast and efficient as possible.
Then once he learns about weapon evolution's and combination requirements he will truly pog.

Dangit, I thought I was done playing Vampire Survivors after getting all the achievements and having a run with six evolved weapons (everything but the knives). Now you tell me it's possible to last more than three seconds against the reaper?!

Garlic is literally the same as it is in SAP. It's insanely GOATed early and falls off late but it still has value. It's the best thing you can see in your first shop. The key to the game is evolving stuff: those things go absolutely apeshit and basically guarantee you getting into at least the 20 minutes+ range.
garlic is just something I don't think you should take. The early game is easy and the extra xp you gain just isn't worth the absolute minimal damage it will be dealing later that you could be using elsewhere.
@@lifetake3103 bulldozing enemies is way more than just extra exp... You get more item pickups as you see more screens so its guaranteed full hp into the midgame also. You don't need full weapons. Infact you dont even need but about 4 slots as laural is also great. Evolve your weapons!

This game is a 10/10 video experience for me, and meshes well with your energy :)
My favorite strat is to get the hellfire wand and movespeed until its the same speed as you, then you can follow a wall of death and free exp with no risk to yourself.
(hyper mode is great btw)

The classic northernlion element of a game of wanting him to keep playing so he'll get better and open up the POG FAUCET
Watching NL play with the Bible and pass on the spellbinder multiple times killed me every time. The combo carries you all the way to the late game

Garlic seemed kinda pog, you just also need to invest in literally any other kind of damage too
Its good early game, but just drops of hard and since you can't discard items becomes a huge wasted slot.
Lightning is absolutely insane late game because it jumps from enemy to enemy when theyre packed close together
Y'know what I'm inclined to agree lightning and ice are dope. I also like water when it's not healing oriented, which is rarer.
There is an amazing game with a similar gameplay on mobile, It's called Magic Survival. Your a wizard who has to deal with hordes of enemies and Everytime you get a spell, later you can upgrade the spells with upgrades of your choosing, gain items which upgrade certain spells or change how they word a little or upgrade your character. After having 2 max level spells, there is a chance to combine them making a entirely new spell with mechanics of both ingredients.
Highly recommend to anyone. It's free, and an amazing time killer
Got the game last night. Most consistent way I found to win was the base characters older brother.
Stack early into knife/bible/protective leaf until you get the evolved knife
Then stack axe/fire wand/tracer/
It’s consistent because knife is only upgraded weapon where you can control the direction. And the upgraded knife shoots without cool down
So you can push back enemies in any direction and never get surrounded. Combined with stacked bible and the leaf, nothing will hit you.
Then you build out your late game dps
This is the first ep of this I’m watching looks absolutely sick, like an old school castlevania/sword of vermillion vibes

This game is about the potential, the Santa Water become almost like a shield, a never ending circle around you that deals massive damage. The Bible is the same. Lighting is almost a Pentagram without the downsides and so on

Thought of that aswell! If anyone wants to try smth similar to this game for Android, Magic Survival is insanely good for a free game, but the translation to english is a bit iffy at times.
I for one, think this game has the potential to be wonderful with some new weapons, passives, and combos

Do not judge a weapon on their lower level! They get exponentially better on higher levels.

the birds, garlic, santa water, lightning ring & runetracer do not evolve, any of them on lv. 8 is 1/2 of a evolved weapon (except the birds & garlic, but garlic still kinda slows them down somewhat)

The highlights of this series are when he only gets a single item from a chest
I'd think Pentagram would be a great late-game pick, when your build is already pretty well set and levels aren't as big a deal, and the bigger issue is the massive screen-filling swarms that kills your FPS and you just need to get rid of.
He keeps saying Y plane is horizontal. That's not right. X is horizontal and Y is vertical. It's driving my batty.

Cucumber on Pizza is a thing. It's a good thing. For the sake of all things holy, here in Sweden, we put a whole Kebab on our Pizza as topping. We even call it Kebabpizza And if it doesn't have cucumber, lettuce, tomato, on it, it's not a real bloody pizza. That shit hella tasty.
If you don't think you'd like warm cucumber, put on cucumbers after you've made the pizza, but here's a thing, take cucumbers and some salsa or aioli or any other sauce for that matter and warm them both up and eat them together, and you'll learn about what heaven tastes like.
Take those crowns !!!!!!!! You want those levels progressively coming faster to counteract the increase in difficulty. 🧠

Santa Water is utterly broken once it's been upgraded and had the aoe and damage multipliers.
So, I found out you can double swipe in a direction with whip if you studder step at the right time. Like press left and right twice to go right.

Don't underestimate the gem hoover item, level it up quickly, and then as soon enemy is killed you get gem from it and xp skyrockets.

Garlic is super busted. But so is replicator/all projectiles build on character 3, whoever speeds up projectiles. And build the aoe+ things too

Garlic is pretty good as a supplement weapon to kill weaker mobs like bats and ghosts just by existing. You will still need to buff it's damage for 1 hitting ghosts though. First map is also by far much harder than library mostly because of that one wave with werewolves and uber bats tbh.

I just played this s*** for 4 hours straight i don't recommend this game. Not because it is bad or anything, but because it is too addicting

Santa water is really good, if you get damage, aoe and rush it to level 8.
if u have garlic you can just walk into weak enemies, like bats
Yeah garlic is basically mandatory for the early game and then late game you basically want to transition to king bible / vespers. they do effectively the same thing and for that reason are insanely over powered in comparison. The other abilities certainly do more damage (knives / whip / fireball / etc.) but of those only the Axe really evolves into something reliable. So yeah usually my "Go tos" in these runs are Garlic, King Bible, and Axe, and everything else is just sort of "whatever". But yes with Garlic, you need to be aware of exactly what it will and will not one shot and WHEN. So for instance in the library it will immediately 1 shot all waves for the 2 minutes, then on the mummy waves it needs to be about ~level 4 to one shot the mummies. So being keenly aware of when garlic will one shot the weaker mobs and you can literally just walk around like a vaccum cleaner.
