That Truck carries over 1 Ton of Diesel Fuel Full. Wow ! Full --- 280 gallons x 7.25lbs/ gallon for diesel = 2,030 Lbs of diesel fuel. I Like the Fact that u can Drive Almost All the way from the West coast to the East coast without Ever hitting a Gas station though.
That is a pretty amazing feat!

Pretty sure that is an owner vehicle, the kinds of jobs that allow that kind of disposable income usually come with 70 hour weeks and always on call strings attached.

More than you'd expect? I'd buy a set of skateboard wheels and trucks from eBay ($6) - spend $1 on some scrap metal to build a chassis and the first final dollar on some sort of scrap wood to build a box from. Sleep in that. 👍

beautiful rig, its about the right size to be a food truck, you should start selling Fish Taco's or Teriyaki kibob's to offset the costs of fuel!
I was thinking the same thing. The health department would demand a ventahood , which might actually work aesthetically.
Maybe you get the bare bones model , then start a food truck. Then after a while update to a proper overland truck.

If selling my house and cars would allow me to own one of the pangea lift roofs I would. had the chance to see the orange gobi and I wouldn't miss a house or a truck. the only problem is it would sit next to my shop 300 days a year and my fellow biz park tenant would think I'm homeless, nutz, and probably avoid contact until the came inside. Walked through the orange unimog named gobi and it was perfect. I going to need a lot more oil changes and smog checks to pay for that. By the way I'm running a special on oil change its only $250000.00 for the ultra premium oil and lube from solid platinum cans to your vehicle, this is to the first 3 responders.

The slightly smaller Mitsubishi version has a 4 cylinder turbo diesel version that gets around 24mpg and can be shipped in a shipping container... that seems a much better way to go.
videonaj tans awesome mpg! I saw another 4cyl turbo that was getting around 17mpg but that’s still pretty good.

In the future, please ask the question about poor fuel quality. Boats have a 'Fuel Polishing' system to remove gunk from less than quality sources.

Can someone please tell her the Unimog U500 is not made for offroad use? It is a universal vehicle for mounting equipment to the front and back of it.

How much is its miles per tank is it??
It holds 280 gallons of fuel and gets around 8-10 miles per gallon and a diesel generator, so maybe 2000 miles on a full tank.
...I would want one if they offer solar panels and batteries for heating and generate power
This is less of a rig walkaround and more of a commercial. Comon~ Stick to the formula!
Not intended to be a commercial. The wind outside made actually walking around the rig problematic so we opted in.

Just gonna say for any prepper out there, this is not the vehicle you’d want for a SHTF scenario it runs off diesel which isn’t going to be easy to take from abandoned cars because diesel isn’t nearly as popular as gasoline.
you're forgetting the MASSIVE fleet of highway Semi trucks with 700gallon tanks that will be everywhere after shtf.

I didn't see a different distinction between commercial and non commercial class A drivers license in Wyoming, but I do see that several RV sites say there is. All I really see is 25999 GCRW and under is class C above is Class A.
if you can afford this you can easily come up with $4000 for a CDL

What do people who own these bigass things do if they wanna drive down to the store? I never seem to see another car to go with these vehicles. I imagine having to pack the entire thing up and then use up $20 of fuel to go buy some onions isn't very economical.
Bicycle , moped ? Possibly. Idprob throw a Moped on the back. Or a Dirt bike on top more than likely.

Plus, many countries ban large or even, 'any' trucks in their national parks (South Africa comes to mind, lol). 4x4 suvs (Jeeps/Land Rovers/Toyota troopys etc.), are admitted as 'cars' in these cases. Check where you can travel before commiting to such a huge, unwieldy, expensive investment.......ps..... think digging an Army truck out of the mud or sand by yourself is fun? (been there, done that)!
