  • This five-video series looks closely at Freightliner's New Cascadia. It's not a rework or a remake of the popular Cascadia, but clean-page design that improves much of what made the Cascadia popular. Fuel efficiency is said to be 8 percent better than the current Evolution model and a whopping 13 percent better than the base-model Cascadia. But engineers didn't stop there. There are several brand new interior packages that bring driver comfort and functionality to the next level, making it a great place to work and rest.
This video takes looks into the sleeper area, or as Freightliner calls it, the sleeper lounge. We highlight some clever innovations that will make off-duty time more more comfortable and enjoyable.

Video provides excellent perspective and orientation to the sleeper area; you can really tell what it's like. Often sleeper videos make it unclear what the set up really is.

Good for Freightshake. Some nice innovations, there. I do hope they improved the ride quality, too. I had to use a daycab Cascadia for three days while my OTR Volvo was in the shop. It was a long three days. It felt like there was almost no suspension in the front end. Rode like a damn kart...

See them at the truck stops that have buffets eating like they've been in the fields farming all day. Nothing but plastic throwaway rigs that will run about 500,000 miles until they start nickel and dining you to death until something major happens. Then it's to the scrapyard. And that's by design. Get those poor suckers who wish to irk out a living under their own authority to second guess themselves. And go drive for a company where they don't have to pay for these piles of shit.

Is the top bunk of the 2018 Cascadia the same size? I slept in the top bunk of 3 different Cascadias during training with my carrier and the top bunk was not comfortable at all. I trained in a 2016 Cascadia. Then a 2015 Cascadia which was handed over to me when I finished entry level training and I had to go 3 weeks in a 2017 Cascadia for defensive driver training after I backed into another truck at one of our terminals when taking a 10 hour rest break. And the bottom bunk is more Comfortable.

so when is the day they're going to put underneath the microwave the space for 6 cup coffe-machine and toaster? and underneath that, a space drawer for an electric pan? like under the pull out drawer. Make that little counter higher so the frigidaire is under that. Cause while having to wait hours and on at a client that has no truck stop, no facility whatsoever, our Driver's camper needs to be more independent. Underneath the clothing cabinet, put 4 small drawers for underwears, socks and t-shirts... why 4 you ask, TEAM DRIVERS, so 2 each, and seperate the clothing cabinet with a pull out curtain to frontway so it divides into 2 sections. Oh BY THE WAY add 12 inches to the back cabin and put the CURTAINS AFTER THOSE FACILITIES (in front of the sleeping section) so the driver may access those even if the co driver is sleeping. Driver needs to eat on his stop breaks while the other sleep. So there you have it, truck cabin revisited. rofl

Why freightliner stealing the Volvo 780 workstation features. Not cool when they call this new. It's a Volvo innovation from over a decade now

everyone makes me laugh when they talk about reliability with freightliner. quick question. how many of you Volvo drivers actually see the road more than you see the shop. Yeah talk about realiabulty. It's Volvo who relies on its look to sell thay over expensive repair job of a truck. only issue I see with the truck is they lowered the weight it can haul. And that front bumper is a huge no no. at some point they have to realize just because they want more aero trucks. lots of shippers and roads are not made for low things. freightliner are extremely reliable trucks. anyone who tries to say Detroit Motors aren't are completed asinine morons and have clearly never had one.

Justin Brooks I always thought that and was guilty of pointing out the way Volvo semi owners were a little bit "peculiar"....you know flip flops, disregard for road etiquette and so on. Then I was put in one and although I won't say they are better than a KW or Pete, I will tell you they are much nicer than a Cascadia. They ride very smoothly, Volvo engine is stronger than the DD and there is no competition for build quality and materials. I would not keep either out of warranty.

northern boy yeah im white american. I can tell from your attitude and reply that you are obviously a hick. You are delusional if you think a peterbuilt is better in terms of comfort than a modern truck. Dont let what ur personal preference is or what you like cloud your judgment in life. You sound like an ignorant hick, theres a reason why a new volvo780 is 237k and a new pete 389 is 140k
