I truly believe that if your video's views possessed six more zeros in front of whatever number is up there right this very moment, then we would all be living in a much better, saner world...........wishful thinking. Thank you sir, no less, for showing us Bach's undefinable genius, and illustrating yours as well.
Reminds me of Psalm 23 A psalm of David. 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Thank you very much for posting this. Bach always makes it feel like he is giving us pieces of some world unknown to us. Together with your wonderful playing of this otherworldly piece, this a joy to listen to.
Waow this is perfect for us staying in the flat with Covid-19. We have no balcony so this music is a as if we had an open window Merci Per, depuis Lyon (France)
Beautiful arrangement. My mother was a church organist and I grew up from a very young age listening to her playing Bach. "Sheep May Safely Graze" and "Jesu Joy Of Man's Desiring" and "Sleepers Awake" and many other pieces had a huge impact on me and still does to this day.
This is one of my favorite Bach pieces, but I haven't heard it on classical guitar before. I think composer Bach is up there cheering this perforamance of his work right now. Beautifully done, Thanks for your masterful performance of it.
My introduction to this piece was my woodwork teacher playing it on a harpsichord he built at school. I've loved it ever since. He taught woodwork to Peter Frampton and David Jones ( Bowie) too!
Between the lawn and us, the listeners, we definitely got the best part of the deal.. Many thanks - as you say, a demanding piece to play but, I suspect, extremely rewarding.
Thank you, Mr. Kindgren, for giving us this sublime music. And thanks to J.S. Bach, but we would not have heard it in our day and age if it were not for devoted musicans like you.
🐑☘☘🐑🍀☘ always wonder how melodies and compositions come to peoples' minds. This one is so special and beautiful. What a blessing Bachs work is and thank you for this beautiful arrangement
Thank you Mr.Kindgren for such a wonderful exquisite performance and transcription of this materpiece. Segovia said the guitar is a miniature orchestra....thank you for bringing his words to life ☺
I absolutely love Bach's work, and this particular Cantata never fails to leave me speechless. I was curious to see if I could find other arrangements for the piece, and I'm honestly happy to have stumbled upon your video! Your arrangement is wonderful and I always find myself going back to this video time and time again! It brings me comfort and greater appreciation for the classical guitar. Thank you so much for sharing this Sir, I really love this!
I make a conscious effort not to speak in absolutes, so I will say that nearly every note is intentional. It is as if half of Per Olav plays, while the other half is taking a careful inventory or “audit”, if you will, of every note and the value. The phrasing is outstanding, and Julian Bream would agree as he once said “We hear the first note, and it is as if at that same moment we have also heard the last.” He said something like this in reference to the 1000/1001 Fugue - it is a privilege to play pieces such as this
Dear Charles Darwin. Thank you for your kind comment. Much appreciated. And I agree with Julian Bream (one of my guitar heros) that Bach's music is totally unpredictable and yet... we know the piece as soon as we hear the first note. Amazing! Thank you! Per-Olov
Sr Kindgreen. Gracias
This may very well be confirmation bias, but it feels like I can recognize your play style, even if it's a completely strange piece. You've blessed the world with such graceful music for a while now, Peo. Thank you for that and keep on playing!
Really beautiful! Your technique is amazing... Especially when you choose where to place your right hand for different colors... Thanks for sharing! Wish you a good day! From Chile, and keep going!
That's my mom's favorite song and I love her dearly I forwarded it to her for to her to hear I think you play it beautifully I tried to play the guitar and I have a lot of success because I'm happy when I do it thank you for doing what you did that's beautiful Dan Carlson
Beautiful as always Mr. Kindgren. Regardless of where my musical tastes stray on any given day, this song will always remain one of my all-time favourites. Fantastic arrangement :) Jason
Glad you recorded this rather than mowing the lawn. Beautiful. Thanks for your time and effort on this gorgeous piece. Now I need to do it in the CGDGAD tuning that I use!
I would have never expect that playing this piece by a guitar would be possible. Beautiful!
When I despair of humanity, I think of J.S.Bach and Per-Olov Kindgren, and I recover hope.
優しく暖かい演奏でとても素晴らしです。ありがとうございました♪
全世界が穏やかで平和になりますように。
Arigato!
It is so obvious your love for Bach - thank you or spreading beauty in this troubled world!
Thank you! I am happy you can hear that!

Again I say, as with Sleepers, like it was written for classical guitar. Beautiful sir!
Thanks for listening
Bella interpretación 👌🎼🎶👌👍👍👍❤️🎼👍
Absolutely exquisite! Thank you Per-Olov you've raised your own bar yet again..

A totally sublime rendition of this beautiful aria. Kudos.
Thank you so much!
Very relaxing to hear this on the guitar.
Thank you for recording for all to enjoy. When I listen to your arrangements I feel stress melt away.
Glad to hear that Kurt!!
Dammit, now I've got to buy a hat, so I can take it off to you. Brilliant !
No need to. Your kind comment is enough.

Well said! Thanks for listening to me.
Bach translated the Divine/God through Harmony, incontrovertibly.

I think Bach is sitting on a cloud thinking, oh crap, I should have learned to play the guitar like Per-Olov! :-)
My introduction to this piece was my woodwork teacher playing it on a harpsichord he built at school.
I've loved it ever since.
He taught woodwork to Peter Frampton and David Jones ( Bowie) too!
@@Per-Olovkindgren I agree with Lee. An incredible piece of music played so beautifully. Thank you.
Wasn’t it Telemann?
Probably the best solo arrangement I've ever heard for this piece. You did an EXCELLENT job, sir.
Helt fantastiskt... tjugonde gången jag tittar
:-) Tack! Uppskattat!
Hälsningar från Köpenhamn.

OH BOY!! More Bach!! Thank you again. Am enjoying your Concert tonight.
Thank you, Mr. Kindgren, for giving us this sublime music. And thanks to J.S. Bach, but we would not have heard it in our day and age if it were not for devoted musicans like you.
I love to remind ppl that Bach never composed for the guitar...
just to show how much we like to rebel
Great, beautiful, as Bach "per gloria Deum". Thanks.
I love this one too... You make the guitar sing!
Muy Bonita Sr Kindgren! Gracias por una Bella interpretasion
You captured the soul of this piece and made the guitar the “little orchestra” Segovia as liked to call it .
We appreciate that you were distracted from the gardening. Every interruption should be so enjoyable. Thank you for brightening my day.

That chord change on 2:36 made my day. Tremendous player.
:-) Thank you Alex.
I must tell you, "the Beach" is hauntingly beautiful, and the first to catch my attention. The guitar technique is the best ever. I adore it.
Thank you Mr.Kindgren for such a wonderful exquisite performance and transcription of this materpiece. Segovia said the guitar is a miniature orchestra....thank you for bringing his words to life ☺
A pleasure to drop by from time to time and listen to your wonderful rendition of Bach's piece.
