Amanda put skill points into every Survivor Stat except Jury Management
She also skipped putting points on ass covering.
She's overrated. She literally got carried in both China and micronesia. I feel like she played her hardest game in heroes versus villains. But the heroes were just too scattered to help her. She was the only one doing strategy at that point
@@tjwilkerson2589 I don't think she got carried. She put herself in good alliances. In the alliances she had, even though she wasn't really the leader like Todd and Parvati, she still played a very crucial role and was behind every move. Especially her alliance in China because between her and Todd, she was actually the more level-headed between the two. Todd even said he'd be honored to lose to someone like Amanda, which is why he wanted to go to the final 3 with her. Unfortunately for her, she can never own up to her game.
Amanda even led the james vote so its not like she got carried by todd
She would have won both of her seasons if she had a better ftc
Jerri’s redemption arc is so iconic and she is arguably one of the biggest fallen angels in Survivor history because she 100% beats everyone in that Final 4. Yes, even Sandra (Jerri gets all of the Villains except Courtney and I see no world where Colby doesn’t vote for her especially given their off-camera reconciliation-that means she only needs one of JT, Amanda, or Candace).
She could probably sway JTs or Amandas easily ngl
She wouldn't get Danielle's vote if she faced Parv for sure.
I dont know what you’re talking about, Jerri definitely wouldn’t beat Sandra and would have a hard time against Parvati. Sandra gets (Parv, Courtney, Rupert, Candice, and Amanda) and if its against Parvati she gets (Candice, Danielle, Sandra, Courtney, and probably Coach)
@@jacobquiroz5921 Please explain why/how Sandra would get Candice and Amanda's vote. Those two have never gone on record stating they would've voted for her, in either Ponderosa videos or in post-game follow-up interviews.
@@YoshiDryBones Candice and Sandra were neighbors and friends outside of the game, while Parvati at least had the perception that Amanda was instantly voting for Sandra. So if a player could read that then there had to be reasons we missed.
I maintain that we met the real Jerri in HvV. It's no surprise it was also her best season, when she accepted her archetype in the Survivor legacy.
Tina Wesson is one my favorite returning players. She won Season 2, came back for All-Stars, got voted out because of her reputation as a former winner, then came back with her daughter in Season 27 and was just one immunity challenge away from becoming a 2 time winner. I think her and Jerri have similar story arcs and I'd call her one of the most legendary fallen angels in Survivor.
Okay hear me out... Keith. He did well on Blood vs Water and Second Chance. He made it 38 and 37 days as an older guy and won several challenges. He didn't make any huge moves on his own, but he made it very close to the end both times he played.
also he was just so fun to watch
Keith walked so Gabler could fly
And Keith understood when it was good to stick to the plan, and when to drive a Tuk Tuk on the beach. Definitely worth consideration for a "funniest survivor players ever" video!
@@elpaco25 Nah Fabio walked so Gabler could fly
@@Brn934 Watch the last Rob Has a Podcast video to understand Gablers game.
I love that you're a Laura M stan, I'm a hopeless apologist for her. The real loss to the Survivor fan community is not only that her daughter voted her out, but that it's also never been mentioned again, ever, by anyone.
It was so unfortunate that she won so many redemption island challenges only to lose the very last one, which I still think is a lot to be proud of, but I definitely understand why she felt so disappointed that day. Silver lining was that Tina got back in the game which was a plus, but I am happy Tyson won that season overall!
@@JRJuggernaut1 i really just think she is so cute, I love her bubbly voice specifically and how feminine she is while being such a challenge beast. Such good tv!
I personally think she sucks and I don't like her. But that's bc she was the one pushing the dont vote for Russell movement in ponderosa.
Bitter Ass Player.
I’m glad Sandra became the queen but Jerri not winning HvV always makes me so upset
It should of been Parvati
At least she is still considered a legend by most, I love Jerri and I am glad she is still talked about very positively over 20 years after her first appearance!
Parvati played the best game that season easily!
Fourth place, man! Tina just missing making FTC in BvW and tying with Sandra for second two time winner is another doozy (though Tyson did dominate that season and played a great game)
@@kingofthorns203 Agreed. Had they made that FIC a bit more fair for Tina (where she was just absolutely winded compared to everyone else bc of her age), she could've potentially been a 2-time winner.
Jerri's story is one of the greatest arcs ever. She was the original villainess, and was universally hated (which is laughable now). Came back to All-Stars, and while she wasn't a villain, still painted in a negative light on the Mogo Mogo tribe. Completely betrayed, only for karma to come back to her alliance. Getting booed off the stage in the reunion. Then to come back in full motion on HvV. Owning her villain title, and played the game so well. She found her footing. Bring her back a 4th time!
JERRI MOTHER MANTHEY i saw her the other day and she keeps in touch with the survivor community sooo her chances of coming back are seemingly high 🤩🤩
It would be surreal if she came back after so long. She's almost twice as old as when she played the first time but I think he could still hang in there.
If a 3.0 comes out, I think Michele deserves to be in it bc she was on the bottom pretty much the whole time in Winners at War, but showed that her social chops from Kaoh Rong were real and I think she has one of the best underdog storylines on survivor ever.
Edit: lol, clearly I didn’t remember much of the first vid
Check out 1.0 👀
Michele was a goat in WaW. She wasn’t brought bc she was useful but she was someone who was easy to beat
I don’t think Michele deserved to win WAW, but I also don’t think that makes her game unimpressive by any means!
@@JRJuggernaut1 she didn’t do anything, she was in the losing minority. Jeremiah integrated himself into an alliance with Tony and that’s why he stayed. Michelle stayed longer seemingly bc she was a goat
Someone clearly didn’t watch the first video.
Glad to see Jerri get her flowers, she’s largely considered one of the most underrated returnee players of all time. I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t respect her HvV game, regardless of how they felt about her in other seasons. She played a fantastic game. Would love to see her return, I know she was supposed to be on Blood v Water with her sister but her sister got pregnant. Her sister seemed very cool - if she is open to a return I’d still love to see them on that theme. I also wouldn’t be opposed to a few returnees from HvV coming back for a HvV2 or a “Legends” season.
As much as I love that Sandra is the first two-time winner I really wish Jerry won that would have been an awesome closing to her three season Arc plus we would get to see her and Colby be coming friends
Thank you for including that iconic tribal performance by Hali in Game Changers at the end. I loooved watching her in GC and her moves were so subtle yet very effective. Bring her back for third chances
"I didn't consent." LOL
I will always love Hali, and I know that people saw her as an odd inclusion in the "Game Changers" cast (like half that cast) but to be fair, Hali herself said she was shocked they asked her back. I appreciate that self-awareness.
I loved that moment. She was clearly trying to make sure she was making the right move. It showed she wasn’t just a goat even if she made it further.
David Genat from Australian Survivor definitely deserves a shout-out. Came back for the first All-Star season with a massive target on his back after his initial season and then become arguably the best winner in Australian Survivor history - would recommend watching to any survivor fan
The fact that he bulldozed that season as maybe the single biggest target in a 50 day all star season makes that arguably the single best game of Survivor ever
One of if not the greatest individual Survivor performances ever.
I had a few names on my list whose second time out was a struggle for them, but made for a riveting arc: Fishbach, Kathy Varick O'Brien, Andrew Savage, and Eliza Orlins. I also had Penner and Andrea Boehlke because they always brought charisma and great narration over three seasons, and were always competitive.
I matched you with Cochran, Natalie A., Tyson, Jerri, Spencer and Amanda. (I had 12 people on my list)
I never understood the SpenceBot storyline. He seemed like a normal 21 year old on Cagayan, albeit a little obnoxious. The Cambodia rhetoric not only made no sense, it ultimately played out terribly for him too in the end (see Kimmi's read of him at FTC).
For me, Natalie Anderson will always be an S-tier winner and player. A challenge beast, social navigator, and a strategic master. She’s an icon, not many people could do what she did.
It’s truly remarkable that she won a Blood vs Water season considering her sister was the first one voted out.
😁 possibly the luckiest, most unnoticed winner..
Before I got into Survivor I saw her and her sister on Amazing Race and I fucking HATED them! So when she popped up in Survivor I absolutely groaned.... but the "Jaclyn, did you vote for who I told you to?" at TC is one of my favourite moments EVER in Survivor. It is so boss.... you know the second that happens she's won. She is my favourite winner only behind Todd (jsut because China is the season that got me into Survivor)
I’m glad we got the Spencer inclusion as he’s kinda a wild card even looking back now. Overall solid list, Tyson not being on the first list felt nearly criminal but at least he made it here.
i love jerri, it’d be awesome if she came back one more time.
The worst part about Cochran’s first season was how his whole tribe bullied and gaslit him. He was never allowed to strategize-he was just a vote they could use and was essentially told he should be grateful he could even do that. It wasn’t a surprise at all when he flipped-Coach was the first person to treat him with any kind of respect. (The bullying continued on in Ponderosa-Mike was such a dick to him there too.)
On Cochran’s returning season, we got to see the super fan actually get to play and it was brilliant.
I don't remember a Mike from South Pacific?
@@beaujarkko my memory really failed me there. His name is Jim, not Mike! He worked at a medical marijuana dispensary.
@@erakfishfishfish Ah Jim Rice, yeah I was NOT sad when he didn't make it off of the Second Chance ballot. This information does not surprise me at all.
I gotta give it to Brad, I did not like him in Blood v. Water and was happy to see him go! But Game Changers I was very impressed by how he wasn’t just a comp beast he really upped his social game too. I still can’t believe how effectively he managed to get JT to sink his own game, take out a threat, protect one of his numbers, keep his team safe from the following tribal, and all without putting any kind of target on him in the process! Brad was a force to be reckoned with and while he may have underestimated Sarah, props to him for bringing a strong well-rounded game as well!
As for Russell, I will just say even taking out all the terrible things he recently said that led him to make his Twitter account private, I don’f give him that much credit on his game since 1. I don’t think he goes far in Heroes vs Villains if the seasons are not filmed back to back, and 2. His jury management remains one of the worst I have seen, which makes me all the more happy he never won despite his claims that he was robbed 😂
And as much as I respect Natalie’s WAW performance, I will never understand why the edge didn’t just become redemption Island instead with a bigger jury. I get that for WAW it was their way of giving the early vote offs more screen time but at least with redemption Island the returns felt earned because many who returned had to win several challenges in the process, as was the case with Ozzie. The edge never sat well with me since each return came down to one challenge! I still give Chris and Natalie credit for their comebacks, but I do wish this twist was utilized better!
Completely agree. That's why I love "Last Chance Kitchen" on Top Chef because those who get eliminated later have a better shot than those who are eliminated early but everybody can still win if they can make it through.
@@ASG-nm4cz I don’t like Redemption Island, but think Last Chance Kitchen is great. I think it’s because Survivor is first and foremost a social game, while Top Chef is a test of skills. Additionally, Top Chef has no report card system-each episode takes place in a vacuum. Judges’ decisions aren’t based on previous performance, so the best chef could get knocked out from one little mistake. LCK does a good job correcting this (especially Top Chef Seattle where Kristen was unfairly taken out of the game, but won LCK and then the season). Votes on Survivor, on the other hand, almost always account for past performance, even factoring in previous seasons for returning players. The only time Redemption Island was truly interesting was when Ozzy deliberately got voted to Redemption Island as a strategic move.
@@erakfishfishfish I agree in that aspect but was just saying winning your way back later a la LCK is better than the edge where each person eliminated has an equal chance of getting back in the game. But I would prefer nothing to being able to come back at all.
Jerri Manthey winning HvV would've been WILD! Idk what would've been more epic, Sandra winning 2x or Jerri, the original (and best) Survivor femme fatale winning after being booed offstage the last time she played.
Laura M❤ I didn’t expect her to see her return, given all the crap she talked lolz
What did Laura say?
@Juniper i can't remember. It was years ago. But basically she was saying the show wasn’t shit lol
Fans hated when Chris Underwood won because of his fire making choice, but then we know that Natalie lost because she didn't pull the same move. It's kinda wild.
I'm waiting for Russell Feathers to return
Natalie owned the game on the edge and had actual effects on the game
Hats off for that Pokemon reference with Coach. Lol
Tbh I feel like Sophie's Winners At War game should be on this list. She did worse than her first time out, but her game was way better.
Yooo Jerri and Brad appreciation, you love to see it
Loved stephen fishbach's return in second chances, he really embodied the season
The picture or Coach in the thumbnail 💀 it’s killing me idk why
I hope season 45 they make a returning players season so we can get more people on this list. A lot of players from Season 43 had a high survivor IQ, I’d like to see Jesse and Karla have another go at it.
I’d love to see HvV2 for 45, or fans and favorites 3
3 members of the Villains tribe in the thumbnail! You love to see it!
Amanda literally came back for fans vs favorites just after finishing the F3 of China and made it back to the F2 again like that’s extremely hard she went 39 days back to back before Russell was even thought of
I really wish Jerri won HvV. Even tho Parvati played the better game imo, I still think Jerri could portray her redemption arc at FTC better than what Parvati could say. I also wish Russell got some votes.
Culpepper got greatly humbled. He went from one of my most hated players to one of my favorites.
Nat is a cheat code. I'd love to see her again, she plays this game so damn well.
“Even a first boot can be great”
*Jelinsky has entered the chat*
Wednesday but no survivor I cri
I love Natalie. ♥️ she’s probably my favorite player, I hope she gets another change to win!
I really liked Spencer. He was by far not a perfect player, but his strategy and challenge skills were great.
I personally see Russel has having a serious advantage since all the villains knew of each other except him. Then he just dominates thanks to his clever plays but if Rob and Jerri knew was Russel was like I feel he would have been target number 1.
I vote Keith for average returning player, he's underrated though. He doesn't make many plays, but he does really good in challenges and survives a very long time in both his seasons as an older player.
Im glad Spencer made it on this list! I think he is way underrated
How dare you cut Hayden's retort back to Tyson! We will not stand for it!
I remember china was the first ever season I watched and Amanda was my absolute favorite. Would love for her to come back and make it to the end and actually have a good final tribal lmao
I don't like Russel as a human but I can 100% acknowledge being great at Survivor. He appeared in a season in Australia and got booted real quick.
On paper, Amanda has a lot in common with Russell: they both made it to the end their first two times getting 2nd and 3rd, won final immunity both times, didn't do as well their 3rd time (although Amanda made it further than Russell her 3rd time).
I realllly liked Amanda, but it’s different because Russ should have won his 1st and Amanda got 2nd as she should have (Todd deserved the W).
Russel did well in 2nd time because it was a back to back season, no one knows him. Otherwise, his style of playing the game would not work, everyone would vote him out early no matter what like they did in redemption island.
@@Vivace1810 if I’m not mistaken survivor China hasn’t aired when Micronesia filmed, so it was a similar case re Amanda
I actually very much disagree with the Russell pick, though mostly on the premise that it's great because he was an "unknown". No I kind of disqualify him because literally nobody on the cast knew his game. That's a massive disadvantage for the other competitors in an all returnees season, especially with what his gameplay was. The rest had to adjust their gameplay, or were able to take into account someone else's. They didn't have that ability with Russell and it allowed him to move unseen for quite a bit. I guarantee if they knew how he played he'd have been the first Villain booted.
You have a point, but even Probst stressed to the cast at the very start of the game that there was a reason he was on the villains tribe. (It’s a shame he never changed his strategy for his third season. He should’ve known better than that.)
I feel like this is gonna be a series
Do I just rank every returning player? 🤔
Jonathan Penner needs to be on this list for sure!
Ugh if only Cochran came back for WAW and got to meet Adam… I swear they’d be friends
In my book, spencer is like a levelled up version of russell. Both of them spent their first season being very intelligent and absolutely dominating the strategic game while ignoring the importance of winning friends. However, spencer did something russell will never do: he LEARNED! He realized his weaknesses and the value of attributes which he had previously considered unimportant, namely storytelling and social ties.
Russell is so arrogant that he is incapable of that kind of introspection, because that would mean admitting he had been wrong! After all, this was the man who could not seem to grasp the base concept of the game he was trying to win, and instead insisted the game was wrong for not bending around him. I think he's a brilliant strategist... at the game he thinks he is playing. Not at Survivor.
Russell wanted the game to change to fit him, Spencer changed to fit the game.
I would definitely have included Michelle over Natalie here. Yes, Nat killed the physical and advantage aspect of the edge, but she failed the most important one- social bonds. You are stuck there with the entire cast and that gives you a huge advantage to strengthen social bonds, yet she wasn’t really that close with a lot of them. That’s more of a mistake to me, even more than the fire making maybe.
Michelle was in the first video.
As soon as Nat decided not to make fire against Tony the Game was over for her. I was irritated &n sad
I am so tired of returning players. Several players have been on 4 times or more. There are so many people that dream of playing but never get the chance.
Only Boston Rob more than 4, thank gosh. I did read somewhere that moving forward if they do have a returnee season it won’t be someone from the first 20 seasons
@@kingofthorns203 The same thing happens with Big Brother and The Amazing Race along with tho people who cross from one show to another and appear as returning players on both. I got so sick of seeing Rachel Reilly almost everywhere so many times.
Francesqua better be in 3.0.
Obvi not as noteworthy but I think Monica, sierra, Wentworth, tasha, Michele, and Zeke all deserve a nod for coming back and improving on their past performances. Wentworth, Sierra and Zeke for example were all very muted in their past seasons but came to play in their returns
How come Russell Hantz was on "Australian Survivor" again?
When did Russell say that about Amanda?
I've never been able to find anything about this but do you know how Jerri had flour in survivor Australia
I always assumed it was in the supplies box they were given at the start 🤷♀️
That or they won it at a reward challenge bc Kucha was never shown to have flour either, and that would eliminate the option of them being given it at the beginning.
Damn, Natalie Anderson is the champ for me!!!! I hope she returns for a third try. Bet she will win again. 💖💖💖
So many good returnees. It’s great to stroll down memory lane, especially since I think survivor has tarnished its appeal these last few seasons. And, imo season 43 was the worst I’ve seen.
not you having ozzy in this list after having him in your most disappointing returnees list sksk
Spencer has no business being on this list.
I really wanted Penner to be here 😢
who do you think would be good candidates for returning players for the next returning season tho?
The hypocrisy of fans being a fan of Natalie in season 40 being the first boot and making the finals vs Chris in 38, arguably playing better when he returned and winning doesn’t make sense to me
2:38 Hance lol
How abt Shii Ann.
Randy Bailey?
Does this being 2.0 technically make these players 20-11?
Yep
I keep on hoping you talk about Joe, he is easily my favourite person on survivor
i know heroes vs villains is the best season and i love sandra, but i can’t watch that season because of how sad i am jerri didn’t win
Russell is overrated, not the greatest at anything other than losing to someone else.
I don't like him either, but he is a great returning player
Sophie Clark for part 3!
Goat
I'm about halfway through the video right now, and if Cochran isn't on the list I'm disliking the video, but the list is good so far
Nah Hali needs to be on 3.0
I honestly wasn't that impressed with Natalie's returning game, but it's partly because I have a hard time getting past the Edge. I mean she was the first boot. She did a lot of great things, but that's when she wasn't really in the game. I don't think she would make my list.
I love Cochran and Spencer 😭
Brad was my favorite player in survivor. Sarah was a garbage winner
I strongly disagree with #20 on this list. The edge of extinction is built for the player that comes back from it to win because they get to spend the whole time socializing with the jury instead of betraying them. The fact that Natalie had such a huge advantage and still managed to lose a jury vote is astounding to me. She had to have played a truly atrocious Edge of Extinction game to lose in the way that she did.
Returning players have been a joke. I have gotten to the point if I hear B Rob or San one more time, I will stop watching.
😤 Natalie forget her
