I would say the daughter likely isn't his and he hasn't even checked, he also probably had to pay an absolute fortune in divorce along with alimony, which he could have avoided if he decided to get evidence of her adultery to use in court. The way he decided to do things, the wife likely came out on top with a hefty sum and the house.

OP's STBX sounds like one of them.

One thing I told her is I do not react well to being threatened or manipulated if she ever tells me she wants a divorce she will never be able to turn back from those words, the only thing that will happen from there on is to sign the papers, as no one and nothing would be able to convince me to stop.

    Op's sister in story 2 should be grateful her daughter was safe, I watched a true crime video the other day about a mom that went to jail and signed over temporary custody to a friend til she got out cause she knew this girl from back when they were in school and the woman ran a day care and was well known and popular in the community. She ended up killing the little girl, turned out she was abusing all the kids in her home day care, there are signs that she let someone SA the baby girl and there were google searches talking about "Wanting to hurt other people's kids but not her own." She should be glad her sister didn't do anything to her daughter out of frustration of having to so seriously change her life to clean up after her sister.

      Not really, I think it's just because OP's sister did so well in portraying that her family is fine, even OP believed that before taking Emma to therapy. The parents knew how attached OP was to Emma, therefore thought that she did it out of possessiveness since all they knew was that her sister's family was doing well. Also, who knew what kinds of lies the sister fed them about the OP, if she even tried manipulating her daughter. If the sister was their golden child, they wouldn't have suggested to put Emma in foster care. They never pushed OP to look after Emma, and supported them monetarily when she took her in. There might be some kind of reasons why they couldn't look after Emma themselves, we don't know anything about them after all. They also didn't bail her out of jail when they knew the truth. Imo what prevented them to apologize was their pride. They knew they were wrong, and they were so ashamed of it that they couldn't bring themselves to reach out to OP. Some parents, especially the stubborn ones, do that. There are a lot of story about parents disowning their own child in the heat of anger then regret it, but their pride prevents them to reach out to their child first. Maybe the parents in this case were also that way. However, like I said, we don't know them so I don't know whether what I said is true, they're just my opinions based on the story alone. I'm in no way justifying the parents' actions though, they're still wrong.

    I find it ridiculous that OP's parents decided to believe their addict daughter who (seemingly openly) smokes weed over their lawyer daughter who has been taking care of her kid while she's been using is ridiculous. I'm not saying that being an addict hurts her credibility or that smoking weed hurts her credibility on their own but together that's a bad picture and any recovering addict will tell you that's a bad idea. As soon as I heard she was smoking weed while recovering from addiction (recovery is an ongoing process, three years if it even was that long would certainly not be long enough if there was a "long enough") it was not at all surprising to hear everything that came after, maybe bar the mushroom grow. The idea that they were growing weed is also not surprising since there was no way they were affording a regular supply on the money they were making while supporting kids (barring any sort of financial assistance from family). It only takes a sip for an alcoholic to relapse and for a drug addict weed will, 99.9% of the time, be a gateway to old learned behaviours and any other instance is an exception to the rule. All of this combined makes OP's very irresponsible and untrustworthy when it comes to their daughter's addiction and recovery obviously OP didn't know how deep it went but it's her responsibility as her niece's guardian to know how deep it goes. Thankfully things worked out and hopefully there is no contact in the future as they are no longer entitled to any but my prediction is the next time OP's sister comes around peeking her head in saying she's clean her parents will start spinning the yarn because from their reaction the heads are buried firmly up their arses with arses in the sand. Horrific story with a lighter ending.

    Story 1: I find it interesting that the husband has filed for legal separation, but as one of the terms, she can’t get involved with anyone else. That’s so dumb to me, b/c instead of sticking together, or breaking it off all together, you would rather legally file for a “legal separation”. If you’re going to leave, someone, make sure you fully leave them with no strings attached. He pretty much left her, but wanted to make sure legally that she doesn’t get involved with another man. Obviously if you guys are breaking up & separated, then clearly she’s going to go out & about with another men. He should’ve just left her & not did the whole legal separation crap b/c he clearly didn’t want to stay with her nor did she with him. Yes, it is a form of cheating (I guess you can say), but they were separated at the end of the day, so technically, she didn’t cheat.

    My heart hurts for 1st OP's daughter. I predict that, when OP's daughter hits 16, she'll run away from her mother to couch-surf with fake friends, next, at 18, she'll stay with/marry a boy who not only mistreats her, cheats on her, abuses her (mentally, emotionally, verbally, and physically), love- bombs her, manipulates her to come back to him, traps her, in order, to isolate her from OP and his sister, threatens to un-alive her if he catches her sneaking off to stay with them, and she'll become conditioned to stay married to the psychotic PO§, because she doesn't want to separate his flesh and blood, even, if he puts her down, goes ballistic, and puts her in the hospital, runs around with other women, or worse, the combo in the three, then, with the help of cops and DV social workers, flee to another state to raise her baby in a safe and stable home environment, and have to stay at a women's shelter, until she finds a job and an apartment, because she won't have OP, his sister, other relatives or friends in her new state to take her in; all the daughter and her baby will have is each other.⚠️

    The mistakle is that you do a signifaicant amount of house work, while she is a SAHM... That's not fair role distribution. If she's not working 8h+ a day, she can do mist chores and you shouldn't do more than basic house work or cleaning up after yourself.
    And I hate when people tell me that "being a SAHM is just as hard"... yeah sure lol. I don't hneed 8h a day to keep the household in check and OP explicitly says he helps with the kids (this shouldn't be only on one partner, no matter what role mode you have) and thus he carries even more burdons and feeds your parasitc ass through.
    No empathy for entitled SAHM or SAHD - it's a huge priviledge to be able to spend your time with your kids while they grow up and I'd happily stay home if I had a partner that earned enough.
    Story2: OP stole the kids for no good reason and she isn't even the real mother... This is so fucked up and the children will be spoiled brats, nice, good job OP.

    OP in 2nd story is unhinged. She took care of the child when her sister need it, now it's time to give her her child back. The child still can pass some time with her aunt, but OP seems having a hard time acknowledging that she's not her mom, and that she was doing her sister an act of service by taking care of the child

    • @FlipTheBard
      @FlipTheBard 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +35

      Clearly you missed the entire story then, if you think OP is the one in the wrong...
      They had a LEGAL AGREEMENT and OP's sister wasn't respecting that after she FINALLY got clean once and for all.
      If anything, OP's sister is being a bitch towards the one person that helped her and(most importantly) Emma THE MOST.
      If anything it seems to me that the sister realized she did dirty to her older daughter but didn't want to admit it, and now that she realized how much she missed and how her daughter sees OP as the "better parent figure", she's jealous of the bond OP developed with Emma.

    • @DJDrLandWhaleOfficial
      @DJDrLandWhaleOfficial 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +32

      Nah fam, unhinged is keeping 3 children in a drug den. The brother in law literally had fentanyl in his system and a weed/magic mushroom farm in his basement. Not sure if you’re familiar with how lethal fentanyl is, a small amount can kill a full sized adult. OPs sister was doing untold amounts of mental damage to that poor girl by manipulating her into thinking the only person whom acted like a proper parent to her didn’t love her. If OPs sister wanted to be a proper parent then she should have since the beginning. She used OP as free daycare till she realized she was losing out on the benefits of parenthood. As someone who’s dealt with addiction before I can say 1,000,000% that people dealing with active addiction should not have custody of a hamster let alone another human being.

      @@senfnotmayo9004 the point is house work isn't "a woman's job". When you have a home and a family, that is BOTH your jobs. If one parent leaves the house for a paid job, the other person does work around the house for the same duration of time which is usually watching the goddamn kids. Anything left over when he two of them are both around each other at the end of their work day, are shared chores.
