Where is there a perfect place to live? There are pros and cons to any place. The main reason for the high cost of living in South Florida is because of the thousands of people who have relocated here due to the high quality of life & warm weather year round. New Yorkers got fed up with their weather, etc!
@ It's a benefit because it helps offset the other high costs such as insurance, etc. Again, there are pros and cons to every location. I moved to South Florida back in 1992 from New York and have never looked back! Moved mainly due to the warm weather year round. I got fed up with the bitterly cold, icy & snowy winters!!!!
Why don't you tell them the astronomical increase in home owner insurance. Why don't you mention a major increase in Condo fees to comply with Florida's 2025 law? BTW it's 3-3 1/2 hour drive from Delray Beach to Orlando, and that's using a combo of I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. It's even longer from Fort Lauderdale or Miami.

There is no such a thing as a perfect place to live. I moved here in 1992 from New York and have never looked back! I see the quality of life in South Florida far superior to New York!!!!
