Favourite Christmas movie of all time ‘Santa Claus The Movie ‘ especially the part where they show him all the toys for the children of the world - tears every time 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻
I go for the red and white theme. I also buy a new ornament every year for my grandkids . Movies love are Going My Way and my new favorite is The Holiday. Also I have handmade that my kids gave me and my grandkids and some from my first Christmas with my hubby.
Autumn decorations until after Christmas 🎄, usually tree is up Dec 1st or before. Favorite holiday movies recommended there are so many on Netflix, old and new classics. I love Its a Wonderful Life and Holiday Inn ~ oldies but goodies. 🥰
A festive season movie to warch is .. Dinner For One made in 1963 .. black n white .. on SBS TV Australia for New Years Eve .. since 1989 .. 18-minute comedy sketch starring two British comedians, May Warden and Freddie Frinton .. really good.
A tradition my mother started with her grandchildren was to buy them a new ornament each year. So I also began buying them a new ornament each year. Every year they looked forward to hanging their own ornaments wherever they wanted to on the tree. When they were ready to leave the nest I “gifted” them a box full of all their own Christmas ornaments at Christmas time. They loved having all their own memories for their first Christmas away from home. My daughter (now 50) still has many of hers that she hangs every year. My only regret was not having dated each of them.
I do the same thing with giving ornaments for Christmas, not only for my grands but also others. For my grands I get them an expensive ornament and use it to top their Christmas gift. Merry Christmas 🎄
We’ve done the same tradition with our children, and gift each [now] couple and grandchildren with a special ornament that will bring back memories of their previous year. It’s become a bit of a chore, but still something I love. My sister makes and paints a special ornament for each of our extended family members which they look forward to each Christmas - now THAT’S a labor of love! Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!🎄
Love the pink in the decorations, think I might have to look for some. My fave movie is nightmare before Christmas, we always watched it as a family when the kids were little, now I watch with hubby as kids are all grown.😊
Hi, Catherine! Happy Thanksgiving from Buffalo, NY, where we're just about done digging out of a blizzard last week that dumped about 4 feet of snow on my doorstep! I try to put up my tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving so that I can enjoy it while I'm working. Holiday movies? I love the old, black and white ones from the 40s--Christmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck, the Bells of Saint Mary's with Bing Crosby, Miracle on 34th Street with Maureen O'Hara and little Natalie Wood, and The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant. I watched them with my mom and grandma as a child when they were on TV, and now I watch them with my daughter. Your living room is lovely, enjoy it! 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃☃☃☃☃☃☃😻😻😻😻😻😻🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠
Wendy, all your favorites are mine also! As you, I also watched with my Mom & Grandma when we could catch them on TV. My Grandma has been gone quite a few years now and my Mom is not in the best of health, so I now consider the films "Christmas Treasures". Just wanted to share when I read your comment. I hope you had a beautiful Christmas & have a much blessed 2023!!! 🎄🎀🎄
Your tree and living room looks lovely, really warm and cosy. My favourite Xmas film is a real oldie "It's a wonderful life" where Clarence the angel gets his wings. Seen it so many times and I cry every time.
Hello 🎄Your Christmas decorations look beautiful very cozy and the movies you mentioned they’re my favorite too plus there’s another one it’s not a Christmas movie but it’s also one of my favorite it’s called Leap Year. Merry Christmas! ❤
Cathy your Christmas tree is beautiful and you front room is gorgeous for the holidays. Love to watch a lot of old classic films. White Christmas which my now 11-year-old grandson loves to watch as well and has done for a few years now. Miracle on 34th St., Polar Xpress, Scrooge, it’s a Wonderful Life, Holiday, and a few others. Have a good week . 🍷😘❤️🙏🍁🤗☮️💋🦃
You got me to start decorating as well! My flat in Brooklyn is too small for a tree, but i have loads of candles - and I have a tradition I got from an aunt; I collect children's picture books about Christmas and other Christmas books and have them scattered all over the house. Some are in the living room on the coffee table, some are on a small end table, some are in my room, and some Christmas cookbooks are going to come out a bit later. For the Christmas viewing - there are two big American classics. One is "A Christmas Story", which is sort of a nostalgic and funny tale of a little boy's Christmas in the 1940s in a small town in Indiana. It's more funny than sweet, but it's a HUGE thing in the USA. (There's even a sequel that is just coming out this year, where the actor who played the little boy is now back and playing him again as a grown man trying to step into his father's shoes.) And then there is A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS. This was more of a TV special broadcast, and is only a half hour long, but it is especially beloved - particularly in my house, where I watch it every year while hugging the stuffed Snoopy doll I got fifty years ago when I was only two.
Your tree looks stunning! There are couple of old christmas films that are just lovely to watch: “The Bishop’s Wife” “ It’s a Wonderful Life” and although not christmassy just funny and Cosy “ Mr Blanding’s builds a dream house”. I could go on forever listing fab films from the 40s and 50s, as there are so many fabulous ones ❤
In Australia, our little home has no fireplace to decorate, so I over compensate and do up all the rooms! My main tree has lights, ribbon, large flowers and pine cones (all coated in glitter), and baubles strung together in 3s and 4s. My bedroom tree has the same large velvety flowers in pink, and all the sentimental, personal ornaments - my kids' and grandkids' 1st Christmas balls and angels - the oldest one is 41 years. Not as sophisticated as some fancy trees and houses, but I love mine 💚💚
Love your tree. The swag garland plus the ribbon in the tree makes it over the top. Ask your brothers to install a little flooring in your attic, You will be able to slide items in and out plus it protects the insulation. So very sorry about the roof leak really did a number on your ceiling. Yes I do love a good Christmas movie, The Holiday, Love Actually and Notting Hill I'm with you, love all of them. All the lights twinkling and a roaring fire makes your cup of tea magical. Wishing you a wonderful week and a Merry Christmas to come. Good video.
My favourite Christmas movies are many of the ones you mentioned. Plus ‘It’s a wonderful Life’ with Jimmy Stewart. And a movie with Gary Cooper called ‘Meet John Doe’. My favorites!
You decorate so beautifully! Some movie suggestions, going back a few years, but oh so cozy and 'traditional': White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Holiday Inn and to watch with your nieces and nephews, A Charlie Brown Christmas. They were already 'vintage' when I was a child, but I grew up watching them and it's not Christmas until I start watching them. I think you will love them.
Christmas with the Kranks is hilarious. It's a wonderful life and 1942 version of Miracle on 34th st with Maureen O'Hare love it. Your living room looks lovely. Another movie is Rise of the Guardians. Of course it goes without saying that all the old Rankin and Bass Christmas movies are fun to watch I have the collection and the cartoon version of how the Grinch stole Christmas. 😘
Beautiful Christmas decorations, very cozy. For movie ideas, we also watch Love Actually every year. I just watched Holidate with Emma Roberts, The Family Stone with Diane Keaton, The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant (black and white film). There is Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds, very funny. I look forward to watching your next video. Until next time, Debra from Montreal, Canada,
Always look forward to your videos. Hmm my Christmas go to movies are oldies. Love all that you mentioned, Last Christmas is a good one but the ones I have to watch EVERY year are The Bishops Wife, Christmas in Connecticut, Holiday Inn, A Christmas Carol (1938) and It's A Wonderful Life. Newer ones: The Santa Clause, Christmas with The Kranks. I try to catch all the old cartoons too. I am a Fall Decorator after Halloween. Fall is my favorite season so I love to decorate for the season. Next weekend I will get out my Christmas, which is usually up thru mid Jan. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans and Merry Christmas season to you Catherine.
Have you watched serendipity with john cusack and kate beckinsale? Your decor is inspirational. Thanks for the video. It helped motivate me to decorate and de-clutter!
“Surviving Christmas” with Ben Affleck and Christina Applegate. Happy ending, despite the title. Made in 2004. Romantic comedy. Happy Thanksgiving from Tennessee ❤️❤️
This is wonderful 🤗, I could get cosy all night in this room. It’s full on Christmas but not cluttered… then you burn the fire and magic happens. Miracle on 42nd street is my first film each year , I watch it on my own with a box of match makers and have a cry and remember Christmas as a child curled up with my Mom. Then every day after that it’s Christmas all the way got to have a bit of Scrooge. Stay safe stay well, cuddles for Blondie xx
Beautiful job doll! So pretty and fresh. Two movies for you; Family Stone, Sarah Jessica Parker & It's a wonderful life, Jimmy Stewart. Love you girl & thanks for sharing you with us. ☺️💖 Cheeky thumbs up!!🤗
Your tree is lovely, yes I've got sentiment ornaments on my tree, the oldest ornament is my fairy which is 58 year old, I got it when I was 5 when we were on a farm next to a garage and the garage owner gave it to me, so it's older than 58,xx,its a wonderful life film, santa Claus the movie, can't wait till next video xx
Everything turned out beautiful. Today is Thanksgiving & tomorrow I will slowly start putting up the Christmas decor. One of my fave Christmas movies is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. We also watch the old Charlie Brown xmas cartoon & the old Grinch cartoon, both from the 1960's.
White Christmas for nostalgia, Christmas with the Kranks for laughter, Miracle on 34th Street for classic. Me and my friend watch The Holiday every year eating Christmas snacks. For more recent movies Klaus on Netflix is really good. 🎄🤩
Lee here from NC USA. Love your Christmas living room decor. Thank you for your beautiful and inspiring videos. Wishing you a blessed and happy Christmas season. Looking for to 2023 and your upcoming videos. Take care. Best wishes to you.
Miracle on 34th Street(the newer one with the little girl from Matilda) and all the Santa Clause movies! plus The Holiday is also one of my favorites as well! Fall decor coming down tomorrow and Christmas will be in full swing by the end of the weekend!!
@@DaintyDiaries it’s one of my all time favorites!! She’s so adorable and Santa when he does sign language with the little girl 🥹🥹🥹 gets me every time 🥰
Good job ! Love the living room! I’m inspired! One of my favorite movies to watch it’s a very old one it’s called “White Christmas”with Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye.
Hello Dainty, I just finished watching and I have the tree and the wreaths and my mantle all reflective of each, everything is just about the same as yours, the only thing where you have those beautiful nutcrackers, I have snowmen. I put up everything the day after Thanksgiving. I love to celebrate each holiday and never mix them up or together. That is my tradition. I just watched the Holiday last Saturday and may watch it again today. I love that movie. I love your living room it is so cozy and warm and screams inviting. I love Outlander and was so upset when they put it on a channel you have to pay for it Have you ever watched A Discovery of Witches Theresa Palmer and Mathew Goode? That is a good one to watch Romantic and just plain good. I could watch even into holiday's.
Your home is beautifully decorated. My movies for the season are White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Polar Express, Miracle on 34th Street, Love Actually, Last Holiday! I watch them over and over! MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Love everything!! 😍😍😍 Same 2 movies for me. I watch Love Actually once a week for the 5 weeks leading up to Christmas and The Holiday somewhere in there lol
I love your videos because they show how enthusiastic and excited you are. But Christmas at your home is so fun. Thank you for being so generous in sharing.
My cosy christmas movies are,While you were sleeping,The holiday,Miracle on 34th street... Your living room looks so warm and cosy, one would love to snuggle up in that cosy and lovely place.
Seven months later, but Charlie Brown Christmas always starts off the season for me. Along with your choices, I always catch While You Were Sleeping at Christmas (following the sentimental theme). Love the decor results. Fun!
So many Hallmark movies have similar plots, but, this year "My Grown Up Christmas Wish, and "My Southern Family Christmas" offer unique new plots, you might just love.
I love your expression “put your cosies on”. Thank you for the inspiration. I’m going to double up my garlands and decorate the frame above the fireplace too xx
Your house is so warm, whimsical and inviting. You have that special knack for creating a cosy nest. I decorate a lot for Thanksgiving and Fall, so Christmas decor doesn’t come out at our house until after that.
Your home looks so nice and peaceful at Christmas - but then your home looks that way to me all the time! But, I do love you decorations for Christmas! I used to wait till after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas, but I decorate nearly every room in my home, so I start a bit early now so that the work isn't all at once and we can actually enjoy it for all of Christmas time. I still have a couple of rooms to do, but they should go fast. As for Christmas movies, our favorites are: The Preacher's Wife (Whitney Houston, Denzel Washington), A Muppet Christmas Carol, Rise of the Guardians, and a couple of old movies: White Christmas and Holiday Inn. We have a whole shelf of Christmas movies that we enjoy, but those are pretty much our favorites.
Your room is inviting and cozy. I love the movies you listed, also the Family Stone, Scrooged, and Elf. I love sitting with my tree lights and the fire watching movies this time of year.
Beautiful Christmas decor Catherine . I just love your TH-cam channel your enthusiasm and cheeriness is infectious. When I am feeling down on switch on Dainty Diaries and by the end of the video I can feel my spirits lifting. I have so many favourite Christmas movies but here are a few While you were sleeping, Prancer, Get Santa
Hi thefilms I love are..home alone.. Christmas with the Kranks, jingle all the way, white Christmas and all the ones you suggested too! Your tree is stunning and your mantle piece is adorable 🥰 ❤
Catherine, thank you for your joy, creativity and your frankness! You are such a pleasure to watch, I binge watched your videos after I discovered your channel. You are lovely!
When my daughter started school each child took in a bauble for the tree to put on each year. She’s 25 now and that bauble still goes on my tree every year.
Your sitting room is a picture worthy of framing, beautiful !
Awww thanks Carol ❤
My all time favorite Christmas movie is White Christmas (1954). It's an oldie but goodie and there's a happy ending!
I love the movie "Nativity". It is about a teacher putting on a Nativity play with his students who are adorable. Bit of a love story too.

Yayy happy decorating 😍♥️
Your house is so warm, whimsical and inviting. You have that special knack for creating a cosy nest. I decorate a lot for Thanksgiving and Fall, so Christmas decor doesn’t come out at our house until after that.
Canada has their Thanksgiving in October. Thank goodness, two big feasts within weeks would do me in.
Hi Catherine, movie A Castle for Christmas I enjoyed it 😊. Love your decor, putting our Christmas tree up on Sunday 🎅🏼 🇨🇦
Your decorating sounds fabulous Dee Ann! Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for stopping by ♥️
Your room is inviting and cozy. I love the movies you listed, also the Family Stone, Scrooged, and Elf. I love sitting with my tree lights and the fire watching movies this time of year.

That has got to be the most gorgeous fireplace garland I have ever seen❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
When my daughter started school each child took in a bauble for the tree to put on each year. She’s 25 now and that bauble still goes on my tree every year.
