I like how that big cabinet blends so well and doesnt look stuffed and overbearing in your bedroom. A soft sage for cabinet...and dainty faded flowers or faded vertical stripes on the doors...would be soothing and lovely....plus...a lot less mess!
My mam (in her 90's) has a little cat she adopted a couple of years ago but she doesn't let him upstairs at bedtime. If she has an afternoon nap in her chair after a couple of hours he gives her a gentle pat on her cheek to wake her letting her know its feeding time. Great video.
My cats walk around singing the song of their people starting at 4 am. I finally give in at 5 and get up. Haven't used an alarm clock in years thanks to these two!
I love your wardrobe just the way it is. And you already have some nice wood pieces. And it is such a big job!!! Be kind to yourself and find another more simple project. Also love your bedding. Here in Australia it is spring and soon the hot days of summer will be here. ❤
Think "Parisan hat box" ...a soft cream or sage for cabinet and a bouquet in french vases on each door, with faded stripes vertical in background and vases/urns centered on each door...cricket fun!.
Your bedroom looks nice the way it is including your shabby shriek wardrobe. You already have enough wood elements in the room. My cat pats me on my face to wake me up…which always reminds me to clip her nails.
Thank you so much! The shabby chic wardrobe is definitely a favorite piece-adds that perfect bit of character, doesn’t it? 😊 And yes, I see what you mean about the wood elements; sometimes it’s all about balance. Haha, I know the feeling! Cats seem to have their own unique wake-up calls. Mine love giving those little “pats” too🐾
🎨 is going to be so much easier seeing as you can’t move the wardrobe and it’s in your bedroom. Also think of the mess and smell of stripping the old paint off. Love the green accent on your bed ❤
Hey Catherine, your bedroom is looking full of the cosy vibes. Re Vote: I am going for a lick of paint 🎨 couple of repairs, and maybe with your crafty skills, either something created on the Cricket Machine or Fabric design on the front. You have the skills to bring this piece into a new vibrant era .....go girl x
Hi Catherine. My vote is to paint your wardrobe--more cream rather than wood tones will keep your room lighter. I am in Canada, and many antiques are "protected" by a tar like coating under the paint. YUK! I wanted to strip a bureau and when I discovered the tar, the bureau became a lovely creamy yellow, which is Paradise!!! Hugs from Canada.
I envy your lovely fall rainy day. Such fun to see your cozy home. I say paint🖌----the strip seems to be too hard, especially in the bedroom. The final choice is yours of course. It is a beautiful piece!
🪵 and stained a warm light taupe/milky-taupe would look gorgeous. However, I’m not the one doing the work so, do whatever you’d prefer. Either way, I’m sure you’ll make it look lovely!
The best helper cats! 😂 Mine is nicknamed “Darcy Doodle” 🐓 since he likes to wake me up by whining in my ear. 🎨 I vote repaint, but maybe use a pop of color. Pull a green from your wallpaper or bedding, or paint some flowers and bring some of the garden indoors. 🪴
I vote for fixing and repainting the wardrobe. A creamy white would be lovely. You might need to strip or sand the wood before repainting. Your autumn room looks cozy!
🪵, Think it will tie in nicely with the rest of the furniture. Our cat is 18 now and loosing his sight, he was an RSPCA rescue as a 1 year old, he had definitely lived through some trauma in his life but still carries on and likes to wake us all hours of the night with a high pitched meow!
I am in the process (b/c rain) of painting some old furniture with chalk paint. I love the way chalk paint covers anything without stripping. Wax finish gives some shine and depth.🎨
I have 3 cats .. I get woken up each morning by either my face being licked, my hair being groomed or being aware that I am being stared at and willed to get out of bed to make breakfast 🎨🎨🎨🎨
What a beautifully warm, fun feline moments and cosy cuddles video Catherine. I adore your fur babies and their antics, the furtive crawling along the top inside of your wardrobe was hilarious! Having lived through the 1970’s brown wood everything has left me wanting white, white, white nowadays. I have a beautiful Rimu kitchen but after nearly 30 years I am about to change the doors etc for white shaker style. Your kitchen is a great inspiration for light and bright too. So, as to your bedroom wardrobe - I’m for 🎨!
Hi Catherine, so happy to see you today. You have been a lovely spark of joy during my post surgery recovery. For the past few weeks, I’ve been doing small projects. Wooden Christmas trees, book folding and painting a table. I need project, it’s my thing and sometimes I do wonder why I make work for myself! My idea would be to take off the doors, bring to glass house and strip. Then maybe fix the cracks and lightly sand the rest of the wardrobe, paint and distressed. Best of both worlds. Whatever you decide will be lovely, as nike says ‘just do it.’ You know you want to. 😊😂
Hi there! It sounds like you’re doing an amazing job keeping yourself busy and creative during recovery - wooden Christmas trees, book folding, and painting a table all sound wonderfully festive and productive! 🌲📚 And I love your idea for the wardrobe - taking the doors to the glasshouse to strip, then sanding and distressing could be the perfect balance of a fresh new look with a touch of charm. Thank you for sharing, and for that extra push of encouragement with the “just do it!” 😄 Wishing you a continued and smooth recovery! 💪
🎨 I love painted furniture, so definitely repair the damage and put on a fresh coat of paint. I look forward to your videos , they are a bright spot in my week❤
Hi Catherine.. love the look of your drop-down desk with white trim and natural door and drawers . The flower motif is beautiful. What do you think doing something similar to your wardrobe. It might be easier to camouflage the repairs if that part is painted. 😊 just a thought. ❤ you do you. I'm sure what ever you decide will be lovely.
Definitely pine, probably victorian , I used to have a shop selling country pine furniture , the feet are called bun feet 😊 would look lovely tided up with a fresh coat of paint and maybe some handles .
I like your armoire as is ....and your mix of dark woods, painted pieces. It all blends nicely and yet each has its own spotlight since they are each individually unique. 😊
Hello Catherine, Thank you for your video today. I like changing out bedding for the seasons, as well. A slight refresh is always a nice welcome. You might have a think about making the needed repairs, then using chalk paint and wax on your cupboard. Chalk paint is forgivin👩🎨🎨 Have a great week. Take care.
Love your little assistant helping to make the bed! 😸 And yes our cat will attack our feet to try to get us up to feed him. Or he'll climb on the bed and headbutt my head. Ninja is a huge black cat, 16yo but refuses to act his age.
🎨 I think trying to strip it in the bedroom would be overwhelming, and I worry the stained wood would make the piece look larger in the room. I recommend repair, sand as needed & repaint! ❤
I love the shabby chic look of your wardrobe stripping it in situ would be a big project and most old pine furniture was made to be painted anyway, your bedding looks lovely 😊❤
When you mentioned about striping the wardrobe I was like noooo, but after seeing it more up close and the rest of wood pieces in the room I know do believe that it would be a wonderfull idea 😊 it will be a massive job as you can't take it out of the room, but I'm quite confident of your skill set 😅 and it will look very cute ! 🥰🪵 I too love the sound of rain ❤ Have a lovely weekend
I love your beautiful bedding. I also appreciate decorating to the season and not the holiday. I'm watching from San Antonio, Texas. Love your channel and your books as well.
your def the expert of these things..i'd say 🪵BUT as it's inside it's gonna be a mess, which i know you can handle. I'd prob 🖌after repair and sand down, depends what it's like - whatever i know it will look fab. Also re the kittens..i a so torn at the moment as looking for one but still missing my cat that passed 2 years ago. We've looked at black one 🐈⬛ x
Aww I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your cat 😭 when you’re ready you can get the gorgeous black one you were looking at and fill the hole in your heart xx
Since I retired and sleep late my 9 cats have pretty much left me alone. If I get up at 6am to use the bathroom I give them a handful of treats and that holds them over!
It’s charity shops for me, I love browsing in them. A couple of weeks ago I saw a lovely tartan cushion for £1 well I just had to have it. I took the cover off to wash through, and the inner cushion was spotless. So that went on one couch, then I saw another cushion in another charity shop the other day, completely different pattern but it is on the second couch, along with the two 2 red ones on each couch it has just made the room cosier. I spotted 2 green ones today hmmmmmmm I may just go back for them if they are still there.
🖌Sage green would be lovely and tie in with the wallpaper stripe.
I like how that big cabinet blends so well and doesnt look stuffed and overbearing in your bedroom. A soft sage for cabinet...and dainty faded flowers or faded vertical stripes on the doors...would be soothing and lovely....plus...a lot less mess!
Yes! That would be beautiful!
🪵 it will be challenging, but it will look absolutely fantastic when done. Enjoy which every way you decide to do.
Paint and repair in a lovely pale green colour
Nothing better than fresh bedding and cosy blankets 🎨
The best sleep is had with fresh sheets 😁
Another option due to multiple repairs is to paint it and add some wallpaper to the front door panels the piece across the top. 🎨
I came here to say this! A very pale green paint and lovely wallpaper on the panels!
My mam (in her 90's) has a little cat she adopted a couple of years ago but she doesn't let him upstairs at bedtime. If she has an afternoon nap in her chair after a couple of hours he gives her a gentle pat on her cheek to wake her letting her know its feeding time. Great video.
Aww cute 🥹
how adorable
Paint!!
Paint and repair Catherine it would look beautiful! 😊
🎨. I vote paint because staining it would be a huge mess, especially during the winter when you can’t really open the windows.
Maybe strip it and paint a lovely shade of sage?😊❤
That was my choice! Sage green paint.
🎨 A fresh coat of paint will work wonders. Stripping it back could be very dark for such a large piece of furniture.
My cats walk around singing the song of their people starting at 4 am. I finally give in at 5 and get up. Haven't used an alarm clock in years thanks to these two!
🪵...I know it will be a lot of work but I'd love to see the wardrobe stripped! I'm telling you to strip yours while I'm contemplating painting mine 😅❤
I love your wardrobe just the way it is. And you already have some nice wood pieces. And it is such a big job!!! Be kind to yourself and find another more simple project. Also love your bedding. Here in Australia it is spring and soon the hot days of summer will be here. ❤
I’m so envious of your Spring, the clocks changed here and the evenings are now darker 🥹
With the repairs that need done to it I’d paint it, I’d always notice the repairs
Yea, good point!
Mr. Cat wakes me up with a light paw tap to the face. I’m an old woman and he’s an old man so he’s pretty gentle at this stage 🤗
Awwwww 🥹🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
@@laverne899 so cute 😻

🎨 nothing beats an open log fire on a rainy autumnal day ❤
🎨 I'd opt to paint as its quite big and use one of the many white colours available. Beautiful piece of furniture.
🎨I think repair and paint sounds very nice! 😊
Def a paint 🎨 job x
I vote paint. I love the shabby look it's so cosy.
Paint the cabinet green! ❤
Yes! Would give your room a refresher and change it up a bit. Laughing out loud here at the cat antics 🤩
Yes! Maybe a little deeper, moodier green.
Definitely strip it would love to see the colour underneath ❤
I like the shabby chic...repair and paint it!🎨
I love the way the armoire looks now. Rustic.... which I love ❤️
🪵 I think you really want to strip it back! You’ll do a great job I’m sure. Have fun my lovely. 😀
🎨 is going to be so much easier seeing as you can’t move the wardrobe and it’s in your bedroom. Also think of the mess and smell of stripping the old paint off. Love the green accent on your bed ❤
So true, the mess 🥹
I love chippy shabby chic so I wouldn’t change it. I love it💕

Aw thank you, yes, I think repair and some tic would bring into life x
🪵🪵🪵lovely video Catherine, the cat's are so funny. Andcso gorgeous ❤❤❤
I vote for stripping the cabinet, or refinishing it like your dining table. Halfway between wood and white?
Hi Catherine. My vote is to paint your wardrobe--more cream rather than wood tones will keep your room lighter. 🎨 definitely paint. 🎨😀
It would look lovely back to wood❤
🎨 would look beautiful with the repair done and painted your bedroom is really cosy take care ❤
Thank you! 😊

🎨....I think some TLC to mend the cracks in the wood and a fresh paint job will do the trick Catherine. Lovely video
🎨 .
Love an autumnal clean and prepare for winter. Make the house cosy for hibernation 😂
I like to change curtains, cushions and bedding from summer to winter, lifts my spirits! Your home looks so cosy and welcoming Catherine love Margaret
Great idea changing the curtains too, swapping out the texture pieces definitely makes room feel new 🥰
I like the shabby chic wardrobe, so paint 🎨
Thank you! 😊

Strip it! ❤️🌳
🎨 fresh coat of paint always makes things look better. I definitely want one of those mattress toppers. It looks so comfy
Mattress toppers definitely make the bed feel like a hotel bed 🥰
I’d go dramatic like the green of your pillows. 🎨
Have a very blessed day ❤
Always like watching your videos.
I vote for fixing and repainting the wardrobe. A creamy white would be lovely. You might need to strip or sand the wood before repainting. Your autumn room looks cozy!
Catherine, I love your ideas. And thank you for the rain videos. We won’t see rain for a while in Southern California!
White makes it less’ bulky’ and it blends with the wall.Goes well with the rest of the room.
Aw bless him, 18 is such a great age x
🖌🎨👩🎨 Definitely paint and repair. So many lovely ways to paint wardrobes. Thanks for sharing. Laurie
Catherine you have a beautiful home. Strip, sand, repair and paint the cabinet.
My cat Muffin (sadly no longer with us) used to snuggle under the covers in winter. She was the best hot water bottle.
Hi Catherine. My choice would be 🎨😊
I'd re-paint 🎨Restoring to original wood would be a nightmare & messy. I have a lot of mismatched furniture & love that look! 🤩

My cats do this too every time I change my bedding too.❤
I like the closet painted white. Maybe paint the nightstands for a pop of colour😊
I love the wardrobe the way it is. Your bedroom is so lovely.
Hello, this would be a great winter project, repairing and painting your wardrobe. Take care
Natural wood all the way!!!
Oh I do miss changing bed linen with cats - a weekly treat for all of us 😁
Paint it 🎨 ❤
Your bedroom looks cozy and beautiful. My ginger cat meows very loudly for his breakfast, he is my alarm ⏰! Greetings from New Zealand ❤
Maybe wood and paint with the flowers stencilled like ur chest of drawers would be lovely
🎨 I love painted furniture, so definitely repair the damage and put on a fresh coat of paint. I look forward to your videos , they are a bright spot in my week❤

Yes, strip it - it will be so pretty, maybe white-wash it then it’s not white, but not wood either. Or paint it a nice green color? So exciting!❤

🎨 I would definitely repair and paint. Pine doesn't really take stain very well and I love the shabby chic look 😊. Thank you for the video ❤
Yes- attack the feet or claw at the box spring. Works every time.
