    The pricing I'm seeing currently shows just under $0.07US per exported image as their most expensive option. At that price, if you edited and exported 700 images (say like, a big wedding package or similar and you could batch edit a lot of it) for $49, it doesn't sound terribly priced to me.

    • @leonard187

      It's a question of principle. Do you pay the manufacturer of your drill for every hole you drill? Do you pay Nikon, Canon, Sony or Fuji for every photo you take with your camera, or the manufacturer of your car for every mile you drive?

    You should review it again. They keep adding features (including stray-hair removal, clothing de-wrinkler etc) and I think it's hands down the best portrait editing software around. Sure, the pricing model isn't my favorite but if you factor in time saved and overall results, I think it's so very worth it.

    For a professional portrait artist, this is game changing. If I send off 20-30+ images to a retoucher, it will take anywhere from 24 hrs to 3-5 days to get them back and it will likely cost $3-10 each. Weddings could take up to a month and easily cost in excess of 10% of the revenue for the wedding. To be able to edit an entire session or even a wedding in that amount of time for no more than about $.07 per image is very reasonable and cost effective. I think this will be an amazing tool, and if a photographer is truly a professional and has a legit, sustainable business model, they can work this into their cost of doing business and raise pricing to cover it - using faster turnaround as a leg up on the competition. Just my 2 cents. :)

    Oh, it works for me, I used to paid a retoucher to edit photos, $5 dollars per photo until I see this, I used to send my raw files to a retoucher and have them edit for me. Just for headshots though. Anything g more creative I would do myself, but it just took a lot of time. It’s saving me a ton of time and I’m able to offer more edits to clients without paying for a retoucher which is great!

      If you deliver 500 images or so per wedding, the cost to edit using Evoto would be $30. If that amount is going to bankrupt you, you may want to raise your rates. That being said, I don't think that wedding photographers are their primary target. The tools are more geared towards close-up portraits (i.e. headshots and fashion) so perhaps only using for bridal and couples portraits instead of every single image from a wedding...

    I'm a full-time professional and this would break the bank. I'll stick with Lightroom and photoshop. I can see your point and agree with you about the pricing as it relates to batch editing standard photos. You can do the same this does using Lightroom or Capture One. However, for me, this pricing is pretty good for my use case, which would be on portraits and people shots, where I want to do quick, broad strokes retouching. It's insanely powerful in that department. That alone justifies the price for me.

    Thanks for very well done presentation. I downloaded Evoto, purchased 1200 credits and used the software on a headshot session I just did for a client but as much as this seems like a wonderful app, it also reduces the quality of my original photo/headshots. I'm very disappointed because the Evoto software doesn't appear to offer a high res professional look. For example I adjusted a person's skin, removed bags/wrinkles, freckles and stray hair but major parts of the photo, like the ears, person's clothes and my gray backdrop have become very grainy/fuzzy. If I could post a sample of my experience here, I would.

    • @icesurfr
      @icesurfr ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It costs 6¢ to re-edit. If that is your concern, then maybe you should charge an extra quarter your shoot to cover these editing costs

    • @whiterock1865
      @whiterock1865 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I can probably absorb six cents but bro that isn’t the point, I just really personally, my opinion only, just don’t like that pricing model simple as that. The good news is that some other software is coming out that you can actually just pay one fee for. But anyway, if ecotourism is actually using it’s communication with online servers so it’s basically like having a desktop version of Imagen AI, then I guess it makes sense, but if it’s software that just solely runs on your desktop, I wish they would just have a flat rate and every time they do a major update just charge me an upgrade fee if I want it.

    The retouching features look like they do a lot more than Luminar AI and Neo (I use and like them both) but I agree that the credit system is lame. What I really don't like is that since it's cloud-based, you have to give it permissions around any security software, malware and possibly your VPN could be an issue. Some features require you to allow for "content analysis" for product improvement. All the while, the program is constantly monitoring your computer's activity for the use of credits. No, thank you.

    Interesting program, the sky replacement tool is very powerful as you pointed out considering it will put a reflection in the water. I know there are other ways to put the reflection in the water, this however seem so easy to use. I prefer to do most outdoor/landscape photography and this would be a worthwhile addition to my editing. I agree the pricing is strange, wonder what contitues exporting, my desk top, to a printer, mine or lab, for a photo book, etc? Wonder if it works with all file formats, raw, jpeg, tiff, etc?

    I definitely don't like a subscription model for pricing but in this case, I think your analysis is a little bit flawed. There's no question that if you're using this product on all your photos that the pricing just is totally out of whack. But I don't think most people would perform this level of retouching on all their say, vacation photos. Or, suppose you're a headshot photographer. It's very unlikely that you'd be shooting 100 portraits a month. I think this product is very much aimed at professionals like that which explains their pricing strategy. Frankly I liked all your photos in their original form and don't care for all the retouching this product is capable of automating. If all keep using these AI image processors all our photos will start looking the same.
    Who needs that?

    Why would we want to distort our images to such an extent that they no longer reflect the subject. There is a purity and authenticity about using our camera and composition skills to capture the image in camera. We know that Apps can allow us to to use Raw to correct exposure and other artefacts caused by the limitations of the camera/lens. I do not understand why we would want to pretend it was a cloudy day when it wasn’t or alter the shape of our model’s face to be something that it isn’t. I do not want my photography to become a digital manipulation of reality. As for the pricing, they clearly are not photographers or interested in photography.

    Evoto no longer has monthly plans. It's simply pay as you go by pre-paying for a select number of credits. A single credit is attached to an image once you export the image. You can then export that same image as many times as you like on that single credit. The highest price per credit is like .07 cents. This is way better than the monthly you show in the video for sure. They pivoted fast and I think I understand why - no one wants a monthly charge. The world of AI is pay as you go.

    • @Rocky_KO

      Credits expire after 1 year so all they did was change to annual plans only which is worse for the people that want to split the cost up instead of all upfront.
      The world of photo AI software is perpetual license instead of pay as you go. Retouch4Me, Portrait Pro, etc. have all been perpetual that I've seen. No subscription or archaic credit system. It's like back in the day paying for text messages.

Are they lost? Surely, if you've purchased credits, they should not expire... They will have to restructure their pricing model to suit the activities of professionals better before I will entertain looking further into this software. It won't be long before a competitor launches similar software with a better pricing structure and then Evoto will pay a very high price for this approach.
