@Brian Lee No lol, usually every time a special Corvette model is named, the generation precedes the model just like C4 ZR1, C5 Z06, C6 Z06/ZR1, and so on
My favorite generation of Corvette. The 67 coupe is my personal favorite, and an American icon. Such a beautiful car all around. And bonus points for being a 4 speed!
Stingray my favorite, this generation corvette is the only one I like or will ever drive n own I like both classic and one with aftermarket wheels n more mods
I love the sound of the pipes, very good driving, knows how to blip the throttle to down shift; experience driving a standard trans is evident. Very nice car. I own a small block numbers matching 1964 coupe red interior and ermine white body. Four speed Muncie with 3:08 positrac with 32K on the clock. Oh and factory a/c.
Stellar. I got a chance to drive a navy blue '65 with side pipes a while back before he sold it. Ever since, I've always wanted to hear the sounds of that car again, and this is nearly it. It was a pleasure watching this.
Hood is obviously gorgeous but it's a '67 427 hood and doesn't belong. Stunning car though. Fantastic engine. Sounds delicious and is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I could die happy in that car haha.
I never saw that gorgeous hood on a small block before but they claim the car is all original in the video. The owner probably was told its original when he bought the car and passed along that info to the guys in the video. Its sad to see what GM and Chevrolet did in the 1960's versus what thay are making toay.
Weight of the c2 were not so light at approximately 3360 lbs but that L79 made it seems light. These cars were such a pleasure to drive more so that the Big Block where you could feel the weight. The L79 was the best option on the C2’s in my opinion and I would take it over the BB any day. I really like how you shot this video showing the gauges and shifting instead of the road. Nice car I like how they did the two tone interior , nice touch, THX.
This one actually has a 1967 Corvette big block hood. Swapping it out for a ‘66 327 hood is the only change I’d make if it were mine. Apart from that, everything looks correct for the year. Superb car-thanks for the video!!!
Beautiful mid year Vette. Probably sell at auction for maybe $70K. If it were a fuelie or 396/427, a lot more. Thanks for bringing out an American classic from the 60’s.
What a beautiful car , thanks for this , these old cars just ooze personality. I'm getting up there so I used to here these nice v8 sounds all of the time . Now we're used to 4 cyl sounds but these old American cars sound so much better.
@@ryanturnerboles yeah . but i'm talking about the body design here !! i wish if they made unique American design like the old gen instead of just copy other cars you feel me !! it still looks great don't get me wrong
Remember reading Zora liked this engine combined with the M20 wide ratio transmission for the street. Big block gave too much heat into the passenger compartment. Great classic color combination. Beautiful car?
In these TH-cam videos of these classic Corvettes it is interesting to watch the needle on the totally mechanical tachometer swing up and down with sudden changes in engine RPM. With today's electronic tachometers you do not see any of these up and down swings of the tachometer.
If I remember correctly the early models with the knockoff wheels came from the factory with a brass hammer. That L79 350 hp 327 was an awesome engine! Hydraulic lifters made it easy to keep tuned and it was a stormer in the lightweight Corvettes and Chevy ll's. Those were the only models that engine was available in.
It is so ironic that the interior is blowing me away. When I was born the C4 just came out and I always associated Corvettes with horrendous interiors. This interior looks amazing though.
Looks and sounds really good, Interior looks better than most of the modern cars, And the owner kept the car very clean unlike many other disgusting people that treat their new cars like rentals. Does it feel like driving a boat?, A downside for this car is mostly the safety, It needs to be taken care of closely and be driven at weekends....
This thing looks and sounds great. Cars like these will be missed when EVs are the norm. Regarding the video: it was really lackluster from the binaural audio standpoint. No start-up from inside the cabin, we didn't get to listen to the sound of all the buttons and knobs on the center console, etc.
You don't know what you're talking about. I had a 66 all original, it was single for Corvette then. Unlike many other Chevy's of the period. 67 Corvette had the dual... I was thinking of changing mine to a 67 setup for safety and power assist.
These cars have had synchronized transmissions for a looong time. In the 50’s only 1st gear was not synchronized and they had synchronized gearboxes already in the 30’s
Getting more old American cars here would be very nice, a first gen Viper or C4 ZR1 would be cool to see
@Brian Lee No lol, usually every time a special Corvette model is named, the generation precedes the model just like C4 ZR1, C5 Z06, C6 Z06/ZR1, and so on
@Brian Lee You are literally the first person I've ever heard of use that naming convention.
That tach is all over the place! Lol.
The cable for the tach probably has too much slack.
@@SerPurple51 - Thank you.
I've driven many mid years they all do it
Most of them do because of the age. I've riden in a '66 327 4 speed with laker pipes but it was red. The tach was everywhere.
My ‘61 GMC trucks speedometer is like that
Love the 327's they have a unique sound unlike almost all of the Chevy small blocks.
The RPM gauge is on drugs and I love it
Mechanically driven, but off the distributor. They will dance.
Who needs the radio with the exhaust song of this beast? I can drive 500 miles listening this....good video!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Such an Intoxicating sound with those side pipes!
People always talk about the 427’s, which are great, but this motor is such a great match for this chassis, makes for a wonderful driving experience
This would be such a dream to own. Perhaps some day. What an astonishing machine. Thanks for the review.
Stellar. I got a chance to drive a navy blue '65 with side pipes a while back before he sold it. Ever since, I've always wanted to hear the sounds of that car again, and this is nearly it. It was a pleasure watching this.
Im loving these old car videos bro takes binaural to the next level

One of the best generations of Corvettes
That tachometer jiggle physics tho
That Vette sounds fantastic!
Incredible!! Those side pipes....
So awesome to see you in more classics. Would love to see a Chevelle or Galaxie to name a couple
This one actually has a 1967 Corvette big block hood. Swapping it out for a ‘66 327 hood is the only change I’d make if it were mine. Apart from that, everything looks correct for the year. Superb car-thanks for the video!!!
L79 in the 66/67 Chevy II was a great combination!
Tachometer absolutely vibin
From the beginning of this video.,I just couldn't help myself from smiling in awee
Beautiful mid year Vette. Probably sell at auction for maybe $70K. If it were a fuelie or 396/427, a lot more. Thanks for bringing out an American classic from the 60’s.
That Vette is awesome!! Sounds amazing!
would love to see you do more old vettes!
oh man i'm high and i could not stop watching and tripping on that sound. cheers from brazill
Looks and sounds amazing! Top down and lightweight
Beautiful C2, I prefer the coupe.
Omg this is so much cooler than my ND.
Wow it sounds amazing
What a beautiful car , thanks for this , these old cars just ooze personality. I'm getting up there so I used to here these nice v8 sounds all of the time . Now we're used to 4 cyl sounds but these old American cars sound so much better.
Truly a gentleman machine 🥃
wish we had more modern cars take inspiration from their heritage, i love the c8 but wish it did more homage to its predecessors
In terms of looks? Have to disagree. Safety regulation gets in the way of making the car actually look good
for the new c8 they copied ferrari 488 . instead of making unique american design like they use to
@@deathnote2526 you realize the original idea of the Corvette was a mid engine car, right?
@@ryanturnerboles yeah . but i'm talking about the body design here !! i wish if they made unique American design like the old gen instead of just copy other cars you feel me !! it still looks great don't get me wrong
what a beautiful sound this car have
That bouncy tach made me laugh. Awesome car.
Remember reading Zora liked this engine combined with the M20 wide ratio transmission for the street. Big block gave too much heat into the passenger compartment. Great classic color combination. Beautiful car?
nice pov videos 👍

Nice car fellows. Thats a big block hood. And there is know tilt column on C 2's. Just telescopic

Lead hammer.
The L-79 was also available in the Chevelle...It's my favorite engine and it has a great sound.....
2 bolt mains
Pure raw car
Damn, that sounds good!
It is so ironic that the interior is blowing me away. When I was born the C4 just came out and I always associated Corvettes with horrendous interiors. This interior looks amazing though.
She’s wonderful!
Saw the FL5 before I saw the corvette. I am diseased.
That car is the same age as me.
That is a beautiful car.
Sounds like my 283 lol I put the same carb that goes on that motor on mine
Put in the L-79 cam for the same great sound......
Nice video!! Love Corvettes
That tachometer is entertaining 😂😂🤣🤣
Very well kept example.
I have a 1966 love it
got a red on red convertible 65 work in process same set up inspired me
Send tht weather to us in FL please, thank you 😇
Looks and sounds really good, Interior looks better than most of the modern cars, And the owner kept the car very clean unlike many other disgusting people that treat their new cars like rentals.

Soon, a vette sound package for your ev :)
That’s a 67 big block hood.
A REAL ASMR VIDEO
Really cool video!!
Vacuum hose to the brake booster needs to be routed under the throttle linkage.
need an sw20 video !
I wasn't aware the stinger hood came equipped with L79s
Hate the hood... save it for the 67BB
This thing looks and sounds great. Cars like these will be missed when EVs are the norm.

I own one.
True story!
2002 Pontiac ws6 m6.....nuff said
awesome
Didn't that particular hood w/scoop come exclusively with the 427ci/435hp engine?
Trop belle 😁😁
Those are some pretty skinny tires!
Well dagone i thought you were going to dump that quadrajet one time , I'm disappointed !!!!!!! 😮
Nice
Come to me, pretty little ‘vette…
Prove me wrong, but this would be something James Bond would most likely drive
How much is this car worth stock?
Dang still shiny
who-ba-dooba hubba hubba
👌
Hi
3.70 geared?
Is is for sale?
that the wrong hood for that year and motor?
Looks like factory tint on the glass
Look 4 me 2 buy this when I win Lotto...!
First off wrong master cylinder should be dual circuit specific to 65 & 66 otherwise good ride along
You don't know what you're talking about. I had a 66 all original, it was single for Corvette then. Unlike many other Chevy's of the period. 67 Corvette had the dual... I was thinking of changing mine to a 67 setup for safety and power assist.
That’s a 67 hood so it’s not numbers matching
Big blocks suck in corvettes - too heavy and they get hot 🔥 - your foot will feel the heat.
no double clutching??? Was a synchroed transmission added, always was told you need to double clutch older vehicles
That's for even older vehicles than this
Absolutely has a synchronized transmission from the factory. This would be a Muncie, an M20, M21, or M22. All are synchromesh.
These cars have had synchronized transmissions for a looong time. In the 50’s only 1st gear was not synchronized and they had synchronized gearboxes already in the 30’s
Big block hood is out of place
