Hey dude, who's Seira? You mean that Sally has twin sister that yandere girl tried to kill Marty because she can recreate her ex-boyfriend, John when she was after Marty's head for re-create him? Whoa, I didn't see coming that.😮
@@johndelmo1213 Bruce is in Cannibal boy and Physical exorcism, they’re part of the main series whereas this is a side case set in the same universe. Plus I think there’s some other games in the series manly hasn’t played yet.
Ok, this developer is just great at going from suspense to comedy at the drop of a hat. The fact the game specifically called out that Sally stabbed Marty "a little bit" after that comment in ending 9 instead of Siera was just pure comic gold.
They did a pretty good job with the random bits of comedy not ruining the story. I guess some silly shit would inevitably happen in tense situations if they stretch on long enough.
It's refreshing to see Yandere girlfriend is actually afraid of her boyfriend... It would be even more interesting to see not only Sally, but Seira is afraid of him.
I loved that twist with Marty losing his mind and becoming overly obsessed with Sally, this is fresh and not unlike normal "yandere" trope. Very good job on devs' and writers' part
I mean, Marty was in so many time loops to the point where I’d honestly go insane as well. Plus, the game did mention some trauma that he had, so maybe the next game will give us more into :)
Nope. in RESIDENT EVIL video game you cannot leave the way you came in. ALONE IN THE DARK video game is even worse, the game punishes you with a Game Over for leaving before "cleaning the house" (The MC will be killed by some Outerworld creatures)
He also then tries to go as deep as possible in the "secrets" even though he knows the deeper he goes the worse it gets. So it's more of a 50/50 chance.
When Bruce told Marty to 'act even crazier' I honestly thought that he was going to pretend to be John with the alter's talk of John hiding in Marty's body and all
I like how the plot twist was just us going a full circle and passing the player POV now to Sally lmao. Marty took acting crazier quite too literally to the point that he had helped Sally moved forward in exchange for his own sanity. These two are literally two peas in a pod for sure lol, but hey looks like in Case 03, Marty will be part of the story.
Hi, I'm Sounding Stone, the developer of Extra Case: My Girlfriend's Secrets. Thank Manly so much for playing it and reviewing the Physical Exorcism Series. After reading some comments, I realized that this game should have been better. I will be more careful about sensitive issues in the next game. 29 Sep, 2022: We took the players' feedback seriously and have removed or replaced sensitive terms and modified some lines to avoid exacerbating the stigmatization of specific groups.
This is the first time I've seen one of your games, and I have to say that I'm amazed by how well-polished and written it is. Keep up the good work! I wasn't put off by any your portrayals of sensitive issues here myself, but best of luck to you in your use of them in future games!
i really appreciate you seriously listening to the feedback about how mental illness was portrayed. i know mental illness has been used as a horror trope often in the past, though i think you have done more research than most have in the past. i am excited to see what you will do in the future!
What an absolutely amazing game dude. The build, storyline, and the way you connected the split personality of Sally was so crisp. And the ending, the title drop in reverse; my Boyfriends Secrets. Just amazing. Again, amazing game, cant wait for case 03 :)
This talisman protects you from evil, I GUARANTEE you it works. Girlfriend touches the talisman, feels sick Oooook... that is... not a good sign, isn't it?
When Manly referenced how it is within the same universe as Cannibal Boy, I knew that the world poor Marty is in is full of abnormal crazy people. Please everyone, stay safe and make sure to carry a weapon with you outside of your house to give you a fighting chance against your attackers.
I love the break of form with the twist of Marty going crazy instead of ether dying or being a idiot throughout, it’s way more fun seeing him go off the deep end WITH Sally rather then a binary good or bad end it felt fresh and I hope you play case three because man I want more of our favorite crazy ass yandere couple
Tho the risk of that is that the kind of temporary persona you gotta build to do that, will eventually corrupt you, the 10th ending is pretty much what happens when a higher value person has to lower his standards for a low value Yandere, in terms of violence and crimes, Daredevil did this outrageously well with Kingpin´s love interest and how she became more and more detached from good and wanted to involve herself more with Kingpin´s evil stuff on the later seasons, much to his disconfort as he didnt want (just like Sally here) to let his line of corrupted crimes take away from his wife´s innocence
@@sebas8225 I disagree, its not corrupting if you dont let it be. Remember that you are always in control and make the lines you will never cross clear and all will be good.
Man Why can't these people have a happy ending? Although Marty's slow descent into madness was done really well, it makes total sense that the time loops would inevitably make him snap and become a yandere. But I do still hope that he snaps the fuck out of it and they get an actual actual happily ever after. Knowing this dev though, the best we can get is 2 minutes of resolution before getting thrown into more yandere fun times. Oh well lmao.
Marty would have remained in the Normal Ending and lived as a relatively normal person, had not Nya entertained his whimsical wishes. Will Marty be able to keep his "happily ever after" with Sally? Only the next game(s) can tell.
For people confused about the context and backstory of this, this game is the latest in the Physical Exorcism series of RPG Maker games - Physical Exorcism: Case 01, Loser Reborn, Case 00: The Cannibal Boy, Case 02: Paranormal Evil, and finally this game Extra Case: My Girlfriend's Secrets. As Manly says, they all share the same universe. Bruce is the main character of Case 00 and 01, and a side character of Case 02. Marty is the main character of Loser Reborn, Case 02 and this one. Nya is from Loser Reborn, while Marty first met Sally in Case 02.
I can't stress enough how I absolutely, *ABSOLUTELY LOVE* the extra ending. The idea of a psycho and a yandere being in love with each other has always been a dynamic I could ever only dreamt of. It just sounds like it'd be so damn chaotic and one hell of an emotional roller coaster compared to the typical normal - yandere dynamic, and it saddens me that not a lot of people really ever tried to write a story with this dynamic. I just wanna see both sides suffer and got wrecked to pieces by both their partner and themselves. The crazier it gets the better
So I just googled the suspension bridge effect, and (about 5 minutes into the game, admittedly), I think that's really telling. It's proper name is "the misattribution of arousal" and it's our brain's tendency to confuse the physiological sensations of fear with those of romantic or sexual attraction.
makes sense. I remember watching a cinema therapy episode and the therapist said that extreme anger and terror are also states of arousal and that the critical thinking center gets shut off basically
Oh, interesting! I assumed it was based on those experiments where any adrenaline-inducing activity would cause people to rate the attractiveness of their potential romantic partners higher than non-adrenaline-inducing activities -- people would unconsciously attribute part of their excitement to their potential romantic partner rather than to the activity. I'm sure that similar experiments and the suspension bridge effect are related, but the fact that the suspension bridge effect is based on FEAR specifically does a great job underlining themes in the game. Thanks for taking the time to share your comment!
"Here is a real talisman that wards off evil" "Oh I can't take that it makes me sick. Also bee tee dubs, never go in my room ever, ok!" Red Flag: The Game.
BTW, it seems that Sally & Seira are *mirror twins.* It's a type of identical twin where instead of being exact duplicates, it's like they're mirror-images of each other. So one is left-handed, the other is right-handed, and if one had a mole by her left eye, the other would have that same mole by her _right_ eye, and so on.
Wait, so basically Sally developed a split personality from trauma, connected to her family and now one of the personalities is a loveable goofball, behind which the second personality, a murderous psychopath, hides.... That's no horror game, that's just Diavolo Plot twist: the entire game is a JoJo reference
Another thing that I love about this is that the boy, Marty was actually able to kill the Yandere, Seira (actually Sally's alter) on a melee physical combat, it was very satisfying in my opinion. 51:03 just because the girl is a yandere and smiles creepily with a kitchen knife, doesn't mean she is overpowered and always overpowers her victims. I love seeing the victim actual won for once. Many anime writers made yanderes too strong, it is getting bland.
Agreed, unless the Yandere character is some kind of powerful being in the universe they inhabit in, many of them are just *ordinary* human girls with a few screws loosen, dunno why anime tends to make them so goddamn OP. Being a nutcase doesn't correlate with excellent fighting capabilities. Am I really supposed to believe Yandere GIRLS can easily physically overpower their MALE victims most of the time? lol Such Mary Sue wish fulfillments for females who are prone to jealousy in relationships.
Eh...it's not a special thing since the victim usually overpowers the killer at the end of the story all the time, and yanderes in a bunch of horror games just get killed by the protag a lot at the end or in one of the endings at least so a don't think this rare or something
@@MapleKemon most people who write female yanderes are men. Them being op isn't for female empowerment, it's for the kink and horror aspect. What are you even going on about?
Yes!!! Usually those games at least imply that humans are the real monsters but weren't the victims that almost all the time can't even put a fight also humans? Why are they killed so easily by someone that have no training in fighting, isn't even fit and most often have the biological disadvantage? I get that even a person like that will be dangerous with an adrenaline boost but this is just ridiculous. And, in the cases where they know is coming, what about the adrenaline response of the victims?
@@user-uq9oe7sc5m i'am not talking about any specific horror game it just comes to mind since it happens a lot in the end of a movie when the protag wins like Alien, some movies of the Friday 13th, Halloween, and some others games that Manly has played usually has some ending where you kill the murderer
@@geneticion9158 It's the titular character of an RPG-maker game series Manly played awhile back. The playthrough is somewhere on his "recommended playlist" if you're curious. Fair warning though; if you're squemish with (cartoon) blood, creepy eyes, and "implied" SA.

DUDE I LOVE THIS! The psychology is compelling. The way Marty stew, which is literally the name of a boy mary sue, slowly goes insane due to the plot and the repeated loops and becomes the villain is super cool. They took the stupid trope and then used it for such an ending is beautiful.
This dude has officially become my favorite comfort TH-camr. I love horror games I love watching play through a an on top of that he’s not loud and obnoxious is voice is rather southing
The "Cannibal Boy" universe is slowly starting to become one of my favorite indie horror series. That dev knows what he's doing! Hope more cases get released.
This was quite the rollercoaster from start to finish. After some of those bad endings, I was certain I had the full story but it just kept adding twists and thankfully didn't squander what was enjoyable in the process. This world the developer has made is real weird but I do like it.
@@maxwell8540 damn, after this video i think im gonna watch the other games of this dev and understand better this world, it will be pretty interesting to see
As a left-handed person, that random question about Sally being left-handed amused me. It took 5 years for my friend to realize I'm left-handed. It's a big shocker to a lot of righties. 🤷♀️
It´s kinda funny the reaction reminds me of Kingpin in Daredevil´s reaction to having his wife asking and acting with no regard to his crimes, he didnt like it very much case it took away from her innocence when they were starting out their relationship, guess Sally too, will have to live with the fact she corrupted her boyfriend
29:06 "If something happened to me, you'd blame yourself to death. Even if that chance is less than 1%..." Marty is the living embodiment of the 'The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math' meme. 😂
I really like the meta way the protagonist rejected the "good" ending and went for something completely different. A linear multi-ending game where you still have the choice to stop after getting the "good" ending or go beyond and see the true extent of what the protagonist is capable of. It's a genuinely interesting take.
Game: mostly normal, no sign of horror so far Manly: I thought this was gonna be about organ harvesting or whatever but I guess I was wrong Game: yeah, about that
Ayyy more yandere stuff! Btw, Manly, you could totally make a playlist of some of the yandere games you played so we could binge. Been trying to find all of them, but it's definitely hard finding them
Marty: Look, I don't even mind that Sally killed a couple of guys. Why would I care about her virginity? Me: Only a true *sigma* would say such wise words.
I really like these kind of games Manly plays. They start like "oh it's so predictable", but then when you indulge deeper you can see a different story, actually well-built. I can see the best games of these kind just follow the same formula, they all have a really predictable start, multiple knots getting complex as they pass and then a finale that actually makes you understand the story completely. I have seen many of the novels I have read start or end in ambiguity, actually leaving everything in your hands so you can say "oh so this is what it meant". I think the best of these are the ones that both start and end in ambiguity, leaving everything in your hands and literally pulling you into the story. Congratulations to the devs, I am happy you knew how to blow the mind of a dumb man like me, despite how cringe this would sound.
So you’re finally awake *You were trying to open your girlfriend’s secrets weren’t you?* Don’t even bother trying to get up dude *she has us both locked in the basement or quite possibly a sex dungeon*
I could imagen the boyfriend seeing horror movies and is just mentally pleading in his mind please let it be a sex dungeon and not what I think it's going to be. So he just sees the gf lock the door with only them 2 in the basement he just tells her please tell me you locked us in a sex dungeon. While she's just genuinely laughing from the unexpectedness and says "haha, you wish". So he says "damn well i seen too many horror movies so I thought I'd just give it a shot." When she hears that answer you can hear her going hmm like she's honestly debating on it. So you just imagen the guy mimicking quagmire's thumbs up.
I wonder if those sleeping pills are actually anti-psychotics? I'm on anti-psychotics and they have the side effect of making you super drowsy, they're actually sometimes prescribed for that very side effect since it's very common. @@adamsalik7389 i may not know what anti-psychotics are for, but i (think i) know they're for helping certain group of people. like those antidepressants and melatonin candies my sister usually takes edit: said anti-depression instead of antidepressants
i think it was just because the title of the ending completed the phrase ("Sally and I would live- Happily ever after?"), as it happened with other ending. I found it funny that manly noticed this in the other ending but not in ending 2.
21:33 "Even now, I have dreams where I'm trying to find his missing arms and legs." Ah. I see where this is going... Makes dolls, has dreams about stitching her dead ex back together, dead ex looks an awful lot like the MC. Really it's just a question of whether or not she's going the full necromancy route. Really glad this wasn't another cannibalism game. Or at least doesn't seem to be one *yet.* Not-cannibalism is almost a twist itself, given the trend.
Debating whether I am disappointed that there is no 'good ending' where the necromancy is successful and he actually comes back to life. Same for a 'good ending' where she gets him transhumanist enhancements for the rest of his body parts and he becomes the most beautiful and powerful boy in the world.
@Grima the Fell Dragon Never watched the second one, but FMA did not have the benefit of being able to locate and identify the spirit of the deceased in order to bind it to the flesh golem directly. FMA had the benefit of quick manufacturing, but no direct, clear line, to the spirit world, making it a worse place to try to bring back the dead. The paranormal cosmology of those worlds were very very different from this one. Those examples, while much higher quality, are about as relevant as pet cemetery.
The whole 'cursed to have their husbands die' reminds me of a movie I saw as a kid, where this family of witches I think were cursed with the exact same thing, it was a good movie overall, can't remember the title tho But damn. All those red flags that you could build a bridge between the earth and pluto, and Marty sees almost none of em until a few replays lol...
90% of this game is also the movie 'So I Married an Axe-Murderer.' except M. Night Shallamallamadingdong shows up after that 90% part to blame it all on a vulnerable demographic.
That curse when I first heard that in this game completely reminded me of ayumi shinozaki from corpse party tortured souls game because that sounds like a dead ringer for her curse.
What I like about this game it that the plot leads you to 1 conclusion, but then in the next “run” it shows something completely different making you come up with a whole new theory, who found most of the plot on 2 minutes lol
I actually prefer the extra ending storytelling wise and I kinda wish that was the Canan ending. From my perspective it just seems a lot for interesting it feels like how it would naturally end. Especially with him gaining the memories from all the time loops for that ending in a satisfying way. Is that just me?

SPOILERS . .. … …. ….. …… ……. I love how the extra ending turns the whole game upside down where it’s no longer “my girlfriend’s secrets” but “my boyfriend’s secrets”! Also, I really believe that Marty *IS* John. There are a lot of signs pointing to it, especially the fact that he is nearly identical to John to the point both himself and Sally mistake him for John at times. He also seems to act a lot like John. Sally is without many of her memories from the accident and Marty also is suffering from amnesia (which is a point not often touched upon other than to explain Marty’s obsessive attachment to Sally). The fact that Marty also mentions he feels he’s known Sally longer than Sally has known him is a point to be made about Nya’s time rewinding powers, which has come in handy with every event Marty regretted. It’s entirely possible that the first time Nya rewound time for Marty was not after ending 1, but rather at the beginning of the game.
I thought that too when I read the line about how he feels like he's known her for longer than he did, but then you have to connect the dots about the people in the car. Marty was John, His friend was either Sally or Seira (could've thought she died but she made it and they both forgot) but what about the rest of his family? And the sister? Also John is officially dead so he can't be John with amnesia. Maybe he haunts Marty? How would they know each other? And it couldn't impact Marty's appearance... Plus, then John would need to be another person in the car and there was only one friend... Or John was Marty's brother? That'd explain their ressemblance, but wouldn't prove they were in the same car crash. And if Sally dated John for 5 years, she'd know if he had a brother... I think that's just a coincidence. Feels like everything is a dead end here.
SPOILER BELOW: I love that they actually (on purpose or not) have the left side of her face associated with her right-hand and vice-versa. Not many people think of that little detail.
I love that it closes out with the roles totally reversed. I really enjoyed this! Love loop stories, creepy yandere (but not really) stories, etc, etc.
_"OoooOoooOoo I'm not gonna let you gOoooOoooOoo"_ _Spoilers_ Ending #3 Pretend happiness was my favorite ending. I always like the bittersweet ones. Besides, it featured MBH's ghostly wail lol. I liked that movie Ghost... so romantic and sad. As for the others, I'd be creeped out to find a photo of me in a guy's room that I didn't remember posing for. The idea of a stalker is all too real and frightening for many people irl. Honestly MBH has watched so many anime, he can guess these plots a mile away lol! This was a bit more twisty than I expected, more sad. I liked the escalation of the plot endings to ghost, to the alter. Best ever movie that immediately came to mind with ghost/question about what happened was A Tale of Two Sisters. I saw it and never forgot it, but I won't spoil it here. The moral of the story: If you have precognitive dreams, don't go down to anyone's basement and forget a night-time reward including cookies. Just leave.
To be fair, he has total amnesia, and she was immediately nice to him, it would have been very reasonable for them to have been friends before he remembers them meeting for the first time. Should I watch that movie?

I called the split personality thing rather early. I thought at first it'd be a possession given the nazar reaction at the start, which was just a red herring.
the frankenstein'ed boyfriend part of the story would've been so interesting without the "she's mentally ill with a crazy murderous alter" tacked onto it 😮💨
I agree, the game is good and Manly's playthrough is great as always, but the game's take on dissociative annesia and split personality disorder feels sadly like unjustified bad rep for mentally ill people.
That's exactly what I thought as well. Even aside from the stereotypes on display here, it's just completely unnecessary and undermines the rest of the story.
@@opinionatortv6457 No, the game clearly establishes it's DID and not spirit possession, and as much as I generally like the story the criticisms levied at using that trope are valid.
@@opinionatortv6457 It's not. Watch the Extra Ending again. It explains that the talisman didn't work because Seira isn't an evil spirit. She's an alter Sally made based off of Seira and her supposed hatred of Sally and love of John.

Yeh
A yandere plot twist where two people who do not realize they are yandere fall in love and one ends up out yandere-ing the other yandere

Nope. in RESIDENT EVIL video game you cannot leave the way you came in.
When Bruce told Marty to 'act even crazier' I honestly thought that he was going to pretend to be John with the alter's talk of John hiding in Marty's body and all
I didn’t even think of that but that’s so good now I wish they had done one ending like that.
That would have ruled!

I personally really liked it, the build up with the endings was great, can't wait to see more from you
This is the first time I've seen one of your games, and I have to say that I'm amazed by how well-polished and written it is. Keep up the good work! I wasn't put off by any your portrayals of sensitive issues here myself, but best of luck to you in your use of them in future games!
Love this series, can't wait for case 3. Thank you for the hard work!

The "act crazier than them" thing is literally true cause ive done that to get some of the most annoying people away from me
Tho the risk of that is that the kind of temporary persona you gotta build to do that, will eventually corrupt you, the 10th ending is pretty much what happens when a higher value person has to lower his standards for a low value Yandere, in terms of violence and crimes, Daredevil did this outrageously well with Kingpin´s love interest and how she became more and more detached from good and wanted to involve herself more with Kingpin´s evil stuff on the later seasons, much to his disconfort as he didnt want (just like Sally here) to let his line of corrupted crimes take away from his wife´s innocence
Just need to focus on the Acting part, it can get to your head

Knowing this dev though, the best we can get is 2 minutes of resolution before getting thrown into more yandere fun times. Oh well lmao.
Marty would have remained in the Normal Ending and lived as a relatively normal person, had not Nya entertained his whimsical wishes.
Will Marty be able to keep his "happily ever after" with Sally? Only the next game(s) can tell.

And that's the fun part. :)

I know, I've seen Saiki K and School Rumble
Could that play into Stockholm Syndrome?
That explains a lot of things for me
Oh, interesting!

I really like these kind of games Manly plays. They start like "oh it's so predictable", but then when you indulge deeper you can see a different story, actually well-built. I can see the best games of these kind just follow the same formula, they all have a really predictable start, multiple knots getting complex as they pass and then a finale that actually makes you understand the story completely. I have seen many of the novels I have read start or end in ambiguity, actually leaving everything in your hands so you can say "oh so this is what it meant". I think the best of these are the ones that both start and end in ambiguity, leaving everything in your hands and literally pulling you into the story.

This is the best comment I have read in this comment section
I agree
SPOILER BELOW:
I love that they actually (on purpose or not) have the left side of her face associated with her right-hand and vice-versa. Not many people think of that little detail.
"Look, I don't even mind that Sally killed a couple of guys. Why would i care about her virginity?"
King shit.
I love that it closes out with the roles totally reversed. I really enjoyed this! Love loop stories, creepy yandere (but not really) stories, etc, etc.
He wasn't wrong about calling her like a bunny. She definitely just takes after the Vorpal Bunny of Monty Python is all
The time where Manly says "Nothing personal kids" that's where my humor broke 😂😂😂
"thank you for saying you'll wait for me."
*Proceeds to receive a death sentence*
Marty: Awh Jeez Manly, I don't think we should open this door
Manly: Open the door, 9 more endings, Manly and Morty FOREVERRRRRR
This game made me quite interested in the dev's other games. I hope you play them Manly.

Ending #3 Pretend happiness was my favorite ending.
@@eloujtimereaver4504 I didn't see your reply in my notifications, so apologies for not responding sooner! Yes, it is a great Korean horror movie. It theoretically is a ghost story, but it is much more complicated. Definite must see. :)
I called the split personality thing rather early. I thought at first it'd be a possession given the nazar reaction at the start, which was just a red herring.
Man I was disappointed when I saw there was no "rewards" at night.
the frankenstein'ed boyfriend part of the story would've been so interesting without the "she's mentally ill with a crazy murderous alter" tacked onto it 😮💨
I agree, the game is good and Manly's playthrough is great as always, but the game's take on dissociative annesia and split personality disorder feels sadly like unjustified bad rep for mentally ill people.
That's exactly what I thought as well. Even aside from the stereotypes on display here, it's just completely unnecessary and undermines the rest of the story.
@@loucantnot It's not DID it's literally spiritual possession. These aren't two personalities, these are two different entities in one body
Holy shit he actually fucking predicted the twist like five minutes before it happened
This just proves that manly is a supreme being.
Good boys get rewarded at night? Fuck yeah.
Cake in bed!
That actually kind of what it is yes.
@@ManlyBadassHero 😭😭omg hahaha
@@ManlyBadassHero A ps5 should better
Despite how walking-simulator-like these rpg maker horror games can be, I always find them utterly fascinating.
They’re basically visual novels with greater movement.
Marty: *gives a talismans that destroys evil to sally*
Sally: *gets sick*
Marty: im gon pretend i didnt see that.
