Welcome back home, Master Drum Nerd! I really enjoyed this. After hearing Forbidden Tale about 200 times now, and hearing so many comment on the guitars, it was nice to focus on the Gorilla and hear your insights with all that lovely singing in the background. This reaction made me remember why I enjoyed Def Leppard so much in the 80s. Rick Allen and Akane have a gift for, like you said, introducing unexpected hits that are not overly complicated. Rick however would generally keep the same offbeat patterns throughout, but Akane seems to visit them one or two times, then reintroduce different offbeat patterns later.
@@bandmaidfanATL Too make a lot of choices is the Hallmark of any good drummer...It is making the RIGHT choices that define the greats. Her intuitive patterns are so well placed you would almost think a fourth stringed instrument was being introduced ! This is the stuff of legends.🤯❤️
@@frankandre4385Great, thought- provoking comments from both you guys, makes me wonder if Akane appreciates how many choices being in this band lets/ forces her to make? I think she does. I'm kind of thinking of how Nate Mendel totally switched up his playing going from Sunny Day Real Estate (intricate) to Foo Fighters (more supportive - which is kinda what MISA has said she's doing more of lately). Band-Maid's (i.e. Kanami's) catalogue lets the members make those choices song- by-song/ album- by-album rather than band- by- band.
@@stevehall5128 Excellent insight. Many artists depart bands " to pursue other opportunities ". Band Maid seems to encourage the sort of innovation that most bands can only dream of. Eleven years of unchanged membership is not only a testament to emotional compatibility, but artistic as well. The only reason to depart this " perfect storm" of a band would seem to be personal, individual need and certainly not artistic freedom.
@@frankandre4385 Now that I think about it, Cluppo could well have been Miku's way of saying to the others, "If there's something different than what WE are doing that you also want to do individually, DO IT."
Hello good sir! It’s been a hot minute eh. How’s you? Hahaha, I expect nothing less. Was just in prague with my girlfriend and insisted we keep an eye out for the dominator - sadly didn’t see him 😞. Be well.
Drum Nerd, great to see you back! Hope all is well with you. Band Maid's new album is chock full of rock 'n roll goodness. And now I have an urge to go see a matinee by myself--thanks.
Thanks for that. All well myself thanks, lots of new life changes so that’s good. I’ll be sure to investigate the new album, thank you for te suggestion. Haha, enjoy that matinee solo- update me on it please 😊. Be well.
Great reaction and welcome back to Band-Maid. Forbidden Tale is off their recently released album "Epic Narratives". All the songs off the new album are great and for me Forbidden Tale is my favorite. It seems like 6 songs in one. Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid.
@ you are more than welcome but you have to live your life so don’t let anyone criticize for things they are not privy to. From my observations you are a very decent person and you have a life outside of your reactions I’m just glad to see you occasionally. Take care.
Good to have you back. One of the delights of this band is that each of them have input into their own part in the track. There are no show off moments or moments of look at me. Each part goes to serve the song. Akane as always is the back bone that drives the song forward. A delight to listen to. The repeat of the tracks never gets old or boring. Anyway great to hear your input and expertise. Band Maid are great value for your return.
Speaking of new drummers, you should check out dr. Cocoro of the new band Nek! She's phenomenal, and has a great battery partner in Kanade, their bassist.
Well, in Japan, it's very common to go to a restaurant alone and eat alone. When Akane received this song, she felt it was a beautiful melody, so she decided not to do anything complicated with the drums so as not to interfere with the melody. Akane focused on keeping the rhythm in this song.
The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Welcome back, Colin!
Thank you, hope you’re well. I’m glad I’m not looking tired for once ☺️ eating out alone is a wonderful experience and genuinely a guilty pleasure. You’re lucky to get to enjoy it often. Be well.

Thank you for your reaction and knowledge especially regarding Akane’s drumming.
Thanks for the kind words and support. Be well.
Nice to see you back. In the jazz section, Akane is using a traditional stick grip.
Thanks for the kind words. It’s good to be back and I love the trad grip; always a classy way to approach the kit. Be well.
Great to have you back!

Great to enjoy more Band-Maid with you again.
Should play some of the new tracks from the 'reformed 'Hagane' with Junna on the drums. They are simply phenomenal.
Yes she is like a younger Akane Hirose
I’ll be sure to investigate that and see what I can do. Thank you for the suggestion. Be well.

What have I been up to? Listening to Band-Maid and The Warning videos! Thanks for asking. Good to see you.
Welcome back. Your not tired for this video. I eat out alone all the time. I heard eating out alone is a pleasure, but I do it to often to notice.
Thank you, hope you’re well. I’m glad I’m not looking tired for once ☺️ eating out alone is a wonderful experience and genuinely a guilty pleasure. You’re lucky to get to enjoy it often. Be well.
You’re one of the rare people that use the “Kiss” phrase !
