    great job 👍. I did a knuckle duster in the past I want to do a set of brass knuckles. I'll be doing it using foam.
    I do agree that putting the crucible back in the furnace will make it last longer.

      Yeah I like your foam castings, their real good, one day I might have to try one.

    Great job. I've had the same issues poring two molds at the same time. I stick to singles now.

      Thanks for confirming that with your experiences. I will do the same as you and stick to singles too.

    Very cool and great surface finish! I used talc for a while too, but like you, I got nervous about breathing it in. Olfoundryman recommended calcium carbonate so I tried it. It seems to work like talc and is, apparently, a lot less hard on your lungs in the long term.

      Thanks for the heads up about Calcium carbonate I will have to try some. For now I am just brushing the talc on because I am not thrilled about breathing it in either. I am still using baby powder to separate the mold. Plus I still love what you did with your vertical casting on your channel. It was very neat to watch you explore that and how well it works.

    Nice. Doinging castings also on my channel but mostly tutorials of making own alloys and art casrings 😉

    It’s like Christmas when you open the mold every time.. maybe next time try to move where the metal flows into the pattern closer to the fins on f bomb let it flow to thicker part but metal by fin is as hot as possible

    • @DamonsMetalCasting
      @DamonsMetalCasting  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree and I tried that on my video called "From bad to awesome". I redid the F-BOMB with the gate as close to the fins as possible and it still failed. My next solution will be changing the F-BOMB pattern to have thicker fins. I believe there is no need in making a pattern hard to cast and keep regretting it. Thanks so much for watching my videos and commenting.

    Where do you buy your aluminum to cast?

    • @DamonsMetalCasting
      @DamonsMetalCasting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got my hard drives from a friend that worked for an IT dept. Some places that recycle aluminum cans will sell you scrap cast aluminum parts at good prices. Also I have a place in town that will sell a massive aluminum ingot that is a casting alloy. Its more expensive but you will know the exact alloy you are working with.

    Have you ever thought about selling the pattern

    • @DamonsMetalCasting
      @DamonsMetalCasting  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I have thought about selling my patterns and my castings. I just haven't picked a site to sell on. If the castings are trade marked, not my creations I can't sell them.

    Nice job too bad the f bomb was a fail. Good luck

    • @DamonsMetalCasting
      @DamonsMetalCasting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Yup the fbomb I rushed and forgot to vent the fins causing the aluminum not to flow into the cavity. That was all my fault. Lol
