I bought my Bark colored, Barbour Ashby @ the Orvis store in Plano, TX 2 weeks ago. I’m sure glad I went to the store and tried it on. I normally wear XL, so I tried it on and it was too tight around the shoulders, so I sized up to XXL. The salesman was extremely helpful and tried to get me to buy the liner, but I didn’t get it. Now I wish I would’ve gotten it. Lately it’s been extremely cold. I love mine....gotten quite a few compliments on it already. Enjoy it bro.
It looks lovely. I’m the same as you as I was considering the black with the red tartan, but I really like the brass buttons on the olive that you’ve purchased. Really nice dude.
Difficult to size these Barbour jackets, picked up a 46 as I have a quilted jacket and wax international in size medium and they are tight now. So wanted something that’s going to last and I wouldn’t out grow. But they say 46 is XL but it’s massive. I’ve ordered a 42 now and they say that’s a large. So will return the 46 hoping for something not as tight as the ones I already have something comfortable.
@@GemiN8 it is really hard to know what size it is. I googled for an hour yesterday. I think xl is 44. I tried an Ashby the other day, 42 was L and 44 XL. But Bedale.

I was between 44" and 46" but now I'm even more confused. If it's not too much bother, could you tell me your chest size? Mine is 115 cm and I still think a 44" would be ok.
@@beomraecho3615 i have plenty of room. Can atleast have a suit beneath the jacket. It is a non slim fit sizing. I think that 44 will be a bit baggy on you. I was almost certain thst 40 was my size, but i tried the jacket while wearing a thick sweatshirt and the jacket hugged me a bit too much. 42 keeps me going to the gym tp prevent my shoulders from shrinking hahaja. Do a smart thing and order one 42 and one 44. Then return the one you don't like. Thats what i did.
Hey man thanks for the video, quality model. I still can't workout what size I am though 42 or 44? I am 6'3 (193cm) tall and 45 (115cm) chest. I weight 87 Kg. I was trying to work it out myself but according to my measurement I should be a 40, which I highly doubt due to my height. Also waht model did you go for Bedale?
@@ref07 I bought the Ashby in XL and the Badale in 42. Unfortunately the Badale was too short on the sleeves. The Ashby instead is perfect for people of our size. The classic line comes with short sleeves.
Yes they do lol. But seriously, my advice is to go try them on with a med thickness sweater, and a lightweight puffer jacket (if you don’t plan on purchasing the liner). If you can’t try b4 you buy, have your own measurements on hand and contact Barbour directly for sizing assistance. I tried on a Beaufort at Orvis a yr ago.I’m short and stocky so my issue was sleeve length just a little too long and didn’t pull the trigger. I recently found out that Barbour makes free hardware repairs and for a fee they offer sleeve lengthening or shortening, patch holes or ragged cuffs, collars. I know one of the Barbour stores in Japan sells used jackets that have cool patchwork repairs done with random patch colors for a unique look. You could also pick up a decent used jacket on eBay for $300 and send it in for repairs. Hope this helps.

When you say extra large. What size is that in inches? I'm a 48 suit chest so what should I go for? I've heard some say go bigger some say smaller

Got the Ashby but the arms sweat alot as the inner sleeve lining is nylon and not breathable.

I am 185cm, 100kg. Tried 40 and 42. Went for 42 on case i'd like to have sweatshirt and so on.
186 and 105 kg here. Would you recommend me a 42? I'm not looking for an oversized fit. I thought I was going to need a 44", this is confusing.
