You should move your fruit basket next to the cutting board where there's more room. It would look less cluttered in your island. Would make your kitchen look more open and bigger. I personally have a white kitchen with black hardware looooove it,yes with 3 kids and a dog. White cabinets in your kitchen with black or gold hardware would look absolutely beautiful 😍
I think your kitchen looks beautiful as is, especially with so much less stuff on the counters. The less the better. In my opinion, a neutral drying mat would look way better than the green grass thing.
If I had a butlers pantry I would put my toaster oven and appliances that are frequently used on the counter in there. It’s technically part of the kitchen anyway and then it makes the kitchen counter where ppl see more frequently than the butlers pantry look less cluttered. Just a thought.
Oh and for the drying mat, Ikea has the best ones (if you're able to order through them or have one close). I never realized drying mats are NOT created equal until I used theirs!
The teddy bear is such a good idea. I lost my mom to cancer almost 2 years ago... might gift a bear to my sister. I'd say go without both pieces on the mantle, looks too crowded and don't want the plant to cover up part of your famoly. GURL, the chill-hop. Friggin love it!!

You did such a great job 😊 also I think with either white or cream cabinets the countertop color And backsplash isn’t a great combo so unless you plan on a total Reno just stick with the dark until you want to change the entire look. My only thought is maybe refresh the counters and/or backsplash if possible to lighten up the space. Cabinet colors will always circle back to wood tones eventually just like light wood floors are in again. Love the pillows you chose and agree 100% about them needing to have removable covers!

The cling wrap box looks lovely. Knee pads would be helpful while you clean...my boyfriend uses them when he cleans. Not a doctor or anything, just a share.

Maybe something more nuetral without the yellow tone. You could get something white or cream with some warm veining going through. And new hardware. Also save some money- ditch the pledge. Just use water and micro fiber towels to clean and dust. Also i had the same issue with potholders until i started buying the thin rubber kind. No more issues. Plus no stains etc since they’re washable.

New subbie here. Omg hunnie you clean as much as I do too. For the cabinet colors, you choose whats best meet your needs. We have 4 kids that are still in elementary school. When we first built our home, i had requested to have an all white kitchen regardless of what my kids may do to it lol. You'll be in it 24/7 and if it bothers you, it will not make you happy. So once we moved in, I told my kids these the cabinets are very expensive and please dont touch. Next thing i knew permanent marker on one of them. omg you should've seen their face when i asked who did it. Lemon oil came to the rescue. Since then no one touched them cabinets. Take it easy hun.

I don't know if you know that your drying rack comes in white, as well as in green. So if you like the function you could change it to a white one. And on the subject of white... I never understand why people object to painting things, like kitchen cabinets, white. If your cabinets get small, sticky handprints all over them, then it's the same with any other colour. I'd personally rather see when they get dirty so I know to clean them. I dislike it more when you touch surfaces, that doesn't show the dirt, and get a unpleasant sticky surprise... So if you like the colour white I think you should paint them white.

You should get the boon "grass" drying rack. It's similar to the lawn only smaller and gray instead of green. I love the boon for wine glasses and other delicate dishes.
What if you put a plank of wood, in a light colour like in the frame perhaps, on your mantle? With a smaller piece covering the front a little bit, like an L...
I must admit I actually disagree with painting your cabinets cream as I think having lighter coloured cabinets is more hygienic as you need to clean them more often, darker cupboards hide dirt and grime and therefore hide germs.
I think in the future you could paint your cabinets dark colors like dark greens, blues, etc any light color will get dirty even if your kids are older
I use my hand held dyson to clean the stairs. An idea to implement into your household to cut back on the vacuuming and mopping is no shoes that were outside can be worn inside.

The batteries def look a lot nicer in the smaller storage containers, however there is nothing wrong with the way you were storing them. The only way they can "discharge" is if there are other metal items (keys etc) in the container with them creating a complete current. 9-volt batteries are the exception since both terminals are on the same end, making it possible to create a complete circuit

I think a lighter wall color would brighten up the space if you’re not going to paint the cabinets.

You can also looking into a lighter color for the top cabinets. A lot of people are doing that. I think that’s the trend now.

I think they make a grey version of the grass draining board now. If you wanted the same thing but a neutral color.
