- The Lexus LC 500 is a car that has intrigued me since its launch having personally been such a big fan of the LFA, and this coming from the very same factory. With a 5.0l V8 in a luxury 2+2 coupe, it's also quite a break away from the main brands competing in this segment so join me at Jemca Lexus in Reading to take a full look around the car and a test drive to see what it's made of!
With two versions available, this LC 500 with the V8 and an LC 500h with a 3.5l V6 support by hybrid, the car can come in a number of trim levels; the regular car, Sport and Sport+ as seen here with features including a carbon fibre roof, rear wheel steering and an active wing on the rear decklid. Here we have a car that costs £88,500, has 477PS and 540Nm, but a really exciting premium feel and level of refinement. Having not had too much experience with Lexus cars prior to now, let's take a very detailed look inside and out of the LC 500 before enjoying to that heavenly sound on the roads!
Point of note, I was misinformed of the colour name, this car is in fact F Sport White, not Sonic White as mentioned.

Lexus is so under rated
Cus they're underpowered. They're great cars nonetheless, but the cars with absurd horsepower ratings get the most hype in today's market.

@@user-ki1vd3ti8j I was simply describing why Lexus as a brand is underrated. In America, speed and style are 2 of the most leading factors that compel the millennials to buy. Millennials make up a dramatic percentage of the population that actually cares about buying performance vehicles. Lexus is a great product, but branding has been taking a severe hit.
@@user-ki1vd3ti8j This is the same reason why Cadillac changed their image and created the V line, which is not as old as you think. The V line is very recent as of date. Cadillac had an old grandpa cruiser persona until they refreshed it and chose to share GM technology and implement a similar platform to the Corvette.
F145H1 I don't think Lexus is under rated anymore the brand is highly respected and the comments are always positive and Lexus is one of the best prestige brands and is the benchmark for quality and reliability.

Richie Chou you haven't driven a ISF RCF or GSF then. If you find a M3, M4, C63, mustang GT or any of those cars or of that sort fun or nice, then you consider all of those F fun.

That V8 sound is one of the best V8 sounds on the market. Dont worry Shmee Lexus is making the LCF so there will be a hard core version. Rumored to a twin turbo 620hp V8. This Lexus is the Japanese Aston Martin. This is the best car to come out of japan in a very long time honestly. Good job Lexus/Toyota

I'm not a huge fan of Japanese cars, but we have nearly 2018 and it comes with a naturally aspirated 5 liter V8 !! While other companies make their cars sounding like vacuum cleaners it would be only worth to buy it just because of that reason. Besides that I like the very unique and sharp coupe design.
When companies build niche market vehicles like this one, they should be able to do whatever the hell they want when they build it. I just hope governments realize this and don't go so hard on companies with epa regulations in the future.

@@rousseau327 That's a fair enough point. Hybrid tech will only get better. I drive a few of them for work vehicles and they sometimes appear to burn just as much fuel as v6 and v8 motors if you drive them defensively. It defeats the purpose of getting them to drive defensive, however, you can find yourself in a tight situation if you don't drive defensive when the time calls for it. I guess it's just

I hope the LCF Nuremberg Edition is a significantly lightened monster with more hp, torque and super sticky tires....maybe some larger brakes and a sweet adaptive aero wing/drag break. Could we also get a dual clutch?
It's a beautiful V8 car! If they supercharged it, it would have the aggression and torque you mentioned.

I drove this in the snow today and despite all reviews saying that it's weird to have a snow mode in a car like this, I was glad it was there.

Black series? completely different segment and price. The LC500 is more comparable to the S Class coupe, which the S class is more expensive and has less power.
You really need to check out JP's RC F. As you know him, you can imagine its a bit louder than stock.. :D
The rear exhaust area ruins the entire car. Its ok though because the 630PS LCF is coming out in 1.5 years with a twin turbo'd V8

I was able to check out a gorgeous LC500 a few months ago in Garnet red..what a beautiful car, and worth the price
hopefully the talk about a LCF actually happens! read in a magazine here in australia that lexus is currently testing out a LCF's new twin turbo V8.
The weels should stand further outside the wheelhouse and the car could sit a little lower.

Hey Shmee, this is the actual "GT" version. Lexus will make a sort of "GT-R" version of this which is called the LC F Sport likely. That will likely have more "drama", tighter suspension, maybe a little more horse power and will likely focus on dropping some weight to make it more of a track like car
This car is a BARGAIN compared to the competition. 100k? That is a joke for what you get. That interior is incredible, specially the brown/ tan one. This cost more than half the price of the Aston Martin DB11, much less than a s550 coupe etc
I think this car is perfectly positioned to pull in a bunch of buyers from every other competitors bucket. The LC F will likely cost close to 130-140k and that is the car you probably want and can easily afford. Anyways great video and as you would say cheers :)

At 13:13 it has a bit of a V10 note to it! Not like the LFA - more like a Viper or S85, but still very cool for a brand that is often overlooked by people in the market for these kinds of cars. I don't know what kind of magic is going on in the exhaust, but this is how you do it Germans!
Great Design will surely become a classic, like the Maserati Gran Turismo better though, and it has a truly usable back seat.

It won the GT500 in japan this year too which is pretty awesome, though, technically an unrelated car they do still look similar so that's a huge plus for me haha

If this Lexus had the power of the amg gtr, no doubt it would be on the list. The looks of this model are incredible, IMO.
Not so keen in white and front 3/4 better than rear - thanks as ever though for showing all the bits 'other' shows/channels don't that I like to be able to see Tim - Key / switches / boot space etc. Happy New Year matey

Lovely car and much better than the hybrid version and it’s awful cvt gearbox
Pity there’s a blank button on the console to the right of the steering wheel as there are no other extras to buy on it, it would’ve been so simple to make that the heated steering wheel on / off button, needs better Poka-Yoke
Also a better solution for on the move would’ve been another wheel, like BMW’s iDrive employs, rather than the less than useful Lexus track-pad
Although atleast using Apple CarPlay would help 🚙👍🏻
