Painting is a step by step thing, you need to have a paint plan. Your prep will determine your end results. Do your sanding in the morning, primer in the afternoon. Best time to paint your final coat is 3am, reason for this is all the bugs have gone to bed and the dust had settled because of the dew in the air. Pull your cars out the garage the over spray is a nasty thing when you have it all over everything. Set the ac to 25 degrees. Where you are painting throw water on the floor, reason for this is the water will catch the overspray and dust. It will take you a few min to paint. Then take a shower and go to bed. In the morning your paint will be cured. Next afternoon soft wet sand 2000 grit and polish. Watch out for the corners or sharp edges with a polisher, it only takes a few seconds to burn or take all the paint off. A good polisher is a good investment instead of hand polishing something. Adam, you should use some expanding foam then sanding it down to make it smooth and inline with the car. Then paint it. I have done this with rust on my old car and works really well.

Adam, what do you plan on doing with your stock turbos after the single swap? I have a 335i as well and my turbos now have pretty bad waste gate rattle. I'm looking for some new ones and I know for sure yours are healthy and have a lot of life left in them.
It's because he was getting bored of the car a little bit and wanted to liven it up. Single turbo is the way to go on the N54 motor when you want some power.
Adam, fill in the paint chip with some glaze putty, it comes in a tube and you dont need to mix it with a hardner.... Wet sand it down flat with 600-800 grit and then touch it up with either brush on touchup paint or spray and blend.
There is a stock bracket that goes fro. The inner frame rail to the fenders but since u have the intercooler piping in the way you are gonna have to mod some new metal to fit
a good way to keep a mark for threads is to take some paint and put it on the nut and threads so you can see the exact location and monitor if it loosening itself.
Yeah Adam, personally I think you should leave the front end as is. If anything, swap the rear end for a Silvia rear lol if you plan on doing anything like that, too many 240's and not enough Silvia's on the track. 👌
I've got a friend whose dad paints cars and stuff on the side and he props up a hose with a spray gun at the end and has it spray in front of the open garage door while he paints to prevent dust and stuff from blowing in onto whatever surface he's painting. Maybe this could help in the future if you have to paint anything again but don't want any orange peeling or anything.
A way to cover up the paint chip on the front guard could be to make custom canards to the front bar that will cover the side? it'll add so cool aero to the front end too 👍🏻
For the chip in the bumper you can sand down the area around it then put some bondo in that area and flatten it'll so it's like the rest of the bumper then paint it
You would need to use something like 3M or Bondo glazing putty then spot paint it. It is the red stuff you see Trevor using in his primer series.. It sands very easy with a fine grit sand paper but takes a while to dry. They do make and sell a plastic body filler but it is way more time involved and would still need glaze or high build primer to be paint ready. -Stay Blessed
For Nicole's car at the chips just get fiber strand and place that on the chip and smooth it out until there is no bump and then just paint over the fiber strand
Daniel Simeon I 100% agree with you on keeping the Silvia front-end. Also it grants some diversity with the RPS13's. Just because she likes the "Pop-up" front-end doesn't mean the Silvia is not fit to stay.
I can't find any photos for you, but the S13s did have a little factory bar support that bolted from the chassis then bolted on the front of the guard where it met the bumper, right at the bottom
Time to upgrade your office chair. A nice steelcase leap helps for those long hours of sitting. Since your not opposed to buying used, go that route as they are pretty pricey retail.

You need to feather out the edges of the chip to prevent the paint from lifting anymore. Then bondo over it and sand it all smooth and even. Spray Bondo brand filler primer over the bondo and surrounding area Then wetsand the filler primer and the surrounding clearcoat with 800 so the paint sticks to the old clear (you will polish out the sanding marks on the old clearcoat later). Then spray the new paint on, clear coat over it and polish everything to blend it all together. (I paint cars)

to fix the chip i would sand it down all the way across the bumper up to the indent body line, run to some masking tape that folded over its self so you dont get a hard line and paint it

for the chip you need to pressure wash area to get whatever loose paint off and sand it down to where flat or use a little filler( I hate filler) then prime and paint

Sand down that big chip with 80g fill with body glaze like usc26006 block sand with 120-400 primer wetsand 600 then spray paint. Use a spray max can color match likely at local auto paint store basecoat paint And clear with spray max 3680061 2k clear...will look like new.
to fix that spot on the fender I would just blue tape all around the fender spray can primer and then spray can paint like you did the spoiler and you can't tell happen until you walk up on it

A good bar is spring steel they will bend in crashes but they are sturdy for regular driving and then you can bend them back after the wreck.

Bond-o / Body putty as we know it here, works great for patching up chips like that, fill it in, sand it down smooth and paint it
body lines really do flow better now looks so clean cant believe its a drift car sometimes xD

Try spring steel it's flexible so if it hits something it will push in and come back out no problem it's used in a bunch of race car sheet metal

Use some trans x it will stop the leaky rack. IT Causes the o rings to swell. If you change fluid make sure to add some more in.

Thin layer of bondo can reduce that gap between the paint surface and chipped surface.

For the chip on nicoles car sand it. Get a rattle can of self etching to get it up to level sand again then paint

can put white nail polish on the tie rod so you can see where your alignment goes better than tape

We used to use EMT tubing (for electrical wiring) crimp each end and drill a hole through the crimped end....POOF.....Home made brace!.

Use a polyurethane bumper repair kit, don't use regular filler because it'll flake off eventually and ruin the paint

I think Nicole's 240 would look more proportional with a ducktail spoiler more so than the wing on it now. Just my 44 cents.
Just try a bit of filler in the chip and use something like an ice cream stick to smooth it in etc.... Then try to apply some colour.
