@edsgarage001 when I use my phone wired by usb to my car to use android auto .... it's a mirror reflection of my home screen of my samsung android phone...but not all apps are there ... TH-cam app is not there. Is that a safety feature designed in the phone or app ... or a safety feature in the infotainment system ?
I'm confused... Android auto certainly isn't a mirror image of a phone's screen... But many of the apps do look pretty much the same. On android auto, there will never be any apps that can play video for obvious safety reasons. I'm not sure if Android auto is what you're using though. The Linkifun gt7 basically uses the car's carplay connection to provide you a tablet style Android experience on your car screen. Meaning you can run whatever app you want, right on the screen, video included.
Hello, thank you for your tutorial. I have a question to ask: for this adapter to work, does it connect to both Bluetooth and your wifi connection in order to start Android auto? Because I usually bring my portable wifi everywhere for my phone to connect. Does it mean that I'll lose my wifi connection if i were to use this dongle to connect my android auto?
Yes, because Android auto must go through WiFi... Bluetooth is too slow. It'll only use Bluetooth to initiate the connection, but then it'll mainly use Wi-Fi for everything else.

It works, but it's not able to determine which phone it connects to, so if you're both in the car, then one of you might need to disable your Bluetooth temporarily
Android auto wireless stopped working after a recent Android 14 update on phones. That is the AA adapter cannot connect to the car screen. The phone if connected with USB cable, then AA connects. Is there a solution for this.
Seems to work fine on mine, I've got Android 14.... Maybe try deleting all the Bluetooth devices again from the car and from the phone, and restart the setup from scratch.
This one's for Android phones . But check out my latest review on a wireless carplay adapter here: th-cam.com/users/shortsNIBNqrd7iLM?si=NXKlc5qszzB5fFJD
That's the review I was looking for - thanks for that! Any other adapters you've tested and would recommend instead of this one? Looking to install it in my Mazda 3 '21.
This is the only one I've tested. Before buying it, check to see if your USB port remains powered when the car is off. If it does, then try to find one that automatically shuts off if it detects the car is off. This one unfortunately stays on even when my car is off, so it maintains a connection to my phone even when I'm in the house, and that's super annoying. But otherwise it works great. I've since made an adapter so that it gets power from a different source now, but I shouldn't have to do that.
I use AAWireless I'm my 2022 CX-5. Works great. Verbal commands work without pressing any buttons and boots straight into android auto without pressing any icons on the screen. Also uses any length usb cable.
Ed what would you recommend if I have a Nissan Pathfinder (All it has is the touch screen with backup camera) and looking to mirror my phone to the Factory Screen. Any help would be appreciated
I have heard that this unit has issues with when using the phone via Bluetooth. Have you experienced any of that issues? and now that you have had this for a few months, any problems?
If I'm the only one in the car, it works perfect about 98% of the time. But if my wife is in the car as well, with her phone, then the reliability drops to about 90% I think it's just wireless interference from her phone. If it messes up, I just unplug it and plug it back in. Otherwise it's been fine
No, not really. It's actually more cost effective to just replace the head unit. If your head unit runs Android, then you could try "head unit reloaded" which is an app you'd need to install on your head unit, assuming it ran Android on it.
Hi I have an issue where my car 2022 Toyota Corolla doesn't detect the adapter or android auto wireless. It works wired and phone Xiaomi 12 detects the Bluetooth and WiFi and adapter and shows android auto and says to carry on car screen
Wipe everything related out of bluetooth and wifi settings of your phone and your car .. and start over. If it still doesn't work then it's likely a compatibility issue, and you may want to try a different brand of wireless dongle.
Is there any issue with the quality of audio? I have read some other reviews where users complained about the downgraded audio quality due to limited bandwidth of BT (though it was an older version of the wireless adapter AFAIK).
In 2017 I had one of the first car with Android auto and car play (model from 2015). Android auto never worked on my car. Tested with 2x LG phones, 1x Oppo and 1x huawei. I go to the dealership and they said : there is no problem with android auto, it's working with Samsung. I just bought a new lg smartphone just after the car... End of the story : I never used android auto inside my brand new car from 2017 and the dealer won't even recognize the problem, if he did, it would means that all customers everywhere could complain about the multimedia system of their car, they don't want that.
PS : Car model is Opel Corsa E (2014-2019) with intellilink 4 that I paid 300€. Opel was sold to PSA in 2017, the year I bought the car. My Opel dealership closed in 2019.
No, This device doesn't give you Android auto... It just makes a system that already has wired Android auto, wireless. To add Android auto to a car that doesn't have it, you need to install a new stereo that has that capability.
Hi very insightful video though I am curious since you also have a Hyundai....how do you overcome the issue with the usb power staying on when shutting off the vehicle? I have a 2021 sonata hybrid and when I turn off the vehicle and walk away my phone is still connected to the adapter because the car doesnt cut off power to its usb port until a 10 min delay. Therefore I would be walking around in my house missing phone calls or text messages because my phone was still thinking it was connected. Maybe others dont have this problem if they walk far enough from the car. But mine is parked in the garage. So I had to manually remember to disconnect my wireless android auto everytime I get out of my car or just wait the 10 mins for the car to cut off power to its usb port. I also rread some forums and saw many other people complain about this issue such as Tucson or Santafe. Did you experience anything like that? I heard this usb power shut off delay is on hyundai/kia electrified models (as in hybrid, phev, ev). Anyways I returned mine out of frustration. Thanks
Hi, yes I only noticed this little issue after making and posting the video. Seems it doesn't matter what brand of adapter though and generally it's only on hyundais that it happens 🙄. My plan is to make an adapter cable that plugs into both the data port and onto the charger port next to it and then the dongle will plug into the adapter. The data lines will of course be contacted to the data port, but the 12v power line will come from the charger port which shuts off when the car is off. There's also USB cable you can get that have switches on them, that's another easier solution.
Yeah thanks and not sure if my comment got deleted. But yes the AAwireless dongle has been so far in my day's worth of testing been a no compromise solution and works flawlessly. As soon as bluetooth cuts off by turning off the car, the adapter senses that and cuts off the connection to the phone even if it has power for remaining10 mins. Same way when you restart the car, it picks up that the car's Bluetooth is connected with the phone and that connects wireless android auto to the headunit. That way no extra step is required and seems as if it was just built in to the unit all along. I also bought a usb extension cable so the dongle is just not hanging out there and have laid the wire along the edges of some panels down to the bottom and that's where this dongle is, between my seat and the center console. It makes it look so much nicer and cleaner
Great and very easy to follow your instructions. I just received my AA wireless dongle same as this from aliexpress. Did your follow your instruction but it keeps disconnecting from AA wireless. Could this mean that the item I got was defective? I'm pretty sure I followed your steps. I have a 2019 rav4 hybrid. Thanks for your videos like this!
I'm sorry for the late response.... It's possibly defective, but could be a compatibility issue with your phone as well.. tough to say honestly I did find that with mine, I needed to keep my phone fairly close to it though to keep the connection stable.
Hi nice works, my headunit dont have AA, now using headunit reloaded for wired AA, will this dongle works wireless with headunit reloaded ? Thanks in advance
So it worked for three days? Try removing everything and reconnecting everything. Failing that, see if you can get a refund. They're pretty good about refunding you if it doesn't work out.
If your vehicle already has wired Android auto, then this will make it wireless... That's all it does. Does your audio have wired Android Auto? I'm guessing no, considering the age of it.
Not with this one, this only makes your Android auto wireless. However, I recently did a video on a different Device that does do TH-cam, plus much more, link in the description for a discount! th-cam.com/video/TOvGpsYZP8g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mfz6Ksk0trDbC7CS

Aside from upgrading your stereo, the only other thing you could do is add a dash top screen that runs Android auto Something like this: amzn.to/3X6MIEs
After connecting to the smartbox from my mobile phone, it automatically connects to the smart box via wifi, but I do not use the internet, how can I overcome this problem? What is the solution?
I'm not familiar with your vehicle... But does the head unit just run Android? Can you install apps on it? If so, see if you can install "headunit reloaded". It's an app that mimics android auto on a headunit that just runs Android.
I'm having some connection issues. It worked flawlessly for a couple of months, but all of a sudden it won't connect. The phone is connected to the smartbox through both wifi and bluetooth, and it says that android auto is available and that I can continue on the cars screen, but the cars screen just says that it's trying to read the USB, and nothing happens. I have tried with another phone and removed my phone from the cars bluetooth, but nothing seems to solve the issue!
I assume you tried hard wiring your phone direct to the car to test that Android auto is still working that way? Maybe your smartbox just died... See if they'll send you a new one. I find a lot of sellers on Ali Express or temu, and even Amazon are pretty good for that.
Hey. I have the exact unit. Does yours start up every single time? I find that mine doesn't start up automatically about 40% of the time. I have to unplug and plug it in and then it will connect. Any solution to this?
Cannot get this to work on my 2019 Chevrolet bolt. If I shut off my phone’s Bluetooth first , when I start the car and select Bluetooth devices it says it doesn’t see any ,even after I connect my phone to the new device thoughts?
I'm unsure why you're turning your Bluetooth off first.... You need to start by deleting devices from the car and the phone. But you still need Bluetooth to be turned on. Start over, watch the video closely and pause it at each step
Hmm ... Lots of possibilities. First Switch back to wiring directly to rule out the wireless box. After that, if it seems fine, go with a new wireless box (see description for new links) It it's still messing up while wired, then could be your USB port on your car or the phone itself.
@@edsgarage001 My cable is the problem . That's why I bought the Android Auto adator. I thought this will fix the problem. Now, I have the same problem like before.
But you're not using a cable anymore, so how can it be the same problem? ... It might be the same result, but caused by different problem? I don't know man, I'd need to be in front of it to see exactly what's going on.
Try turning up the volume during an incoming call.... So have someone call you, and without answering, turn up the volume on the car stereo while it's ringing
If the wifi is connected, how do you use everything without internet cause you can't have data. And if you chose apps only over mobile data, you have to go back on forth every time you enter ir exit the vehicle
Phones can generally use mobile data and Wi-Fi at the same time.... It works fine. If you have an older phone with an older version of Android, I suppose you might run into that problem.
If the Chevy in question already has wired Android auto, then yes. But if it doesn't, then no. This adapter only takes an existing wired AA and makes it wireless.
Hi mate, I bought a similar dongle a few months ago, easy to fit and use just as you say but my issue is the phone, whe a call comes in it won't answer, the fix is to select " use phone ringtone" in the car settings, problem is that only works once maybe twice and then I have to unplug the dongle, go into the car settings and select phone ringtone again, very very frustrating, do you have any experience with this problem?.
I'm sorry I've never run into that.... So I'm not sure what that would be. Are you referring to actual phone calls? The reason I ask is because I've seen that type of issue with Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger calls.
@edsgarage001 Hi thanks for responding, actual phone calls, it may be a Ford thing because it happens with my car and all the Rangers that I drive at work, all Fords, also it could be a Google Pixel thing, very annoying anyway. Keep up the channel. 👍👍
I have a similar adapter going to my Mercedes Slk350. Just got a new Flip 5. What settings are you in under BT? I hand the option of headphones, speaker or other. I can call without issue under speaker using my car but whenever I try to manually call from my phone or answer I can hear them but they cannot hear me. I'm on the speaker setting. My last phone a Google Pixel 6 doesn't have the same BT settings as Samsung for me to duplicate...
Thanks for the question.... But I'm not sure how to answer. When you're in a phone call, you generally have the option of altering which Device it uses for the audio. But I don't see that in settings...I only see it on the phone's screen during a call
@edsgarage001 something in the settings isn't right. It's weird. If I call or try to answer using the phone they can't hear me but I can hear them. Now if I use the car Comand system there isn't an issue. Only in my Flip5. I'm thinking it's some setting somewhere just off. I've tried the speaker, other and headphones and that didn't solve it.
If I was able to be there and see what it was doing I could figure it out.... Find someone techie and sit them in your car while you try it out. I'm not sure what to suggest to be honest
@edsgarage001 I'm actually the techie around here. 🤣 This thing is stumping me. I did read others having similar issues with BT products but not with the adapter. I asked Android Central about it. If I get this figured out I'll update here.
I have a huawei p30 pro and it says it's connected to the smartbox via bt and wi fi, it tries to connect on the car's screen and then says failed to connect, checked on the smartbox wi fi setting and it says "connected, no Internet", it's driving me mad, hoping somoene has a solution,
@@edsgarage001 I think you're right, I tried it in another car and same story, been trying for hours online to figure it out, found a huawei solution, have mobile data and WiFi on at the same time through developer options, sadly did not work, then I updated android auto in Google and it stopped doing anything at all, oh well, back to the cable, it's not worth spending many hundreds on a new phone, your reply was hugely appreciated👍🏻

So it works but when playing android music apps like youtube music etc it plays for a sec then stops. I often have to disable bluettoh and re enable and it works. Really annoying. I think it might have to do with my the app or my car uodating my contacts on the phone? Not sure . Anyone have this issue or have a fix?
After the initial set-up, does it automatically connects to your Andorid phone everytime you start the car or you have to press the Android Auto icon first on your cars infotainment screeen?
Unplug it. It retains no memory. So when you plug it in, it just waits for a Bluetooth device to connect to it, and then it also starts broadcasting a WiFi signal. To "reset" it, just unplug it. But to reset your connection to it, delete it out of your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi lists on your cell phone.
A better alternative for older vehicles may be to change the entire head unit for an after market one. Also, they do have specific car brand/model casings that will blend into the original console.
The problem i face is that i don't have mobile data that i can use with it, i can only use wifi for internet.. is there any setting where i can add my wifi to it?
@@edsgarage001wish I had seen this earlier. I thought I could connect my second phone to the adapter via Bluetooth while also connecting my second phone to my main phone's personal hotspot for wifi.

I can't see the point of this device it connects to my infotainment USB connector. The phone is in my pocket. Battery is flat after 4 hours of music streaming and Google Maps. So I still need to plug the phone in to keep it charged. The Android adapter uses the socket where the phone used to charge and stream from. So, I'm sending it back .
It's great if you have a wireless charger in your car to put your phone on.... stops you from having to constantly plug your phone in every time you step into your car.

I tried to play youtube on fermata auto app with this wireless adaptor. When I launch fermata auto, it's freeze and can't move to other app. I have to reconnect everytime. Does anyone know how to fix this? My device is Huawei Mate 20X.
No, fairly certain that such a thing does not exist. Because your head unit on your car doesn't like have a video input, nor will it be able to interpret a digital video signal.
Hi I couldn't log in as I forgot the password. I don't have manual. How do I reset password? Any idea? I have the same one as you have bought from aliexpress
You don't need to type in the wireless connection password. Disconnect and delete everything, then start over. When you connect to the Bluetooth signal of the smart box, it automatically should connect you to the wireless signal, and it'll put in the password on its own.
I have the device and want to connect to my seat ibiza 2018, but. Cant connect, the radio sees the product but can't get access to it so it doesn't connect, it restarted my radio multiple times. Anyone know how to fix this?

Is this something that would further help in using the W901 Pro ? In my vehicle, I can BT my Android. I don't have carplay. 🤨
I'm not sure how to answer your question.
This device simply makes an existing wired android auto capable stereo, and makes it wireless.
I have an iPhone 15 Max for work and a Galaxy S23 Ultra for my personal phone. Trust me when I tell you that you aren't missing anything. iOS sucks. Lol.
Agreed
Will this work in a car that requires switching between two different drivers using two different phones on different trips.
It works, but it's not able to determine which phone it connects to, so if you're both in the car, then one of you might need to disable your Bluetooth temporarily
Does this adapter work on all cars that have navigation or only newer ones that have Android/Apple support?
The car MUST already have existing wired android auto.
Do you think it will work on a Mazda 3 second generation (2010-2013) oem screen?
No,
As I mentioned in the video, you need to already have wired android Auto. This just makes a wired system wireless
Obrigada por compartilhar 😀
O prazer é meu!
Is only for samsung for iphone no??
This one's for Android phones . But check out my latest review on a wireless carplay adapter here:
th-cam.com/users/shortsNIBNqrd7iLM?si=NXKlc5qszzB5fFJD
HI, What is the different to the flat looking one? from aliexpress
I think the flat one is actually the wireless carplay one.
Will this work on a Mercedes NTG SYSTEM 5.0 ?
Does it already have wired Android auto built in?
Can you use mobile data while connected to the dongle?
Yessir!
I stream my music and use Google maps with this.
I even watch TH-cam videos via car stream (when I'm parked)
Is the car sound system working the same through the adapter? you can hear from all the car speakers or only 2 like regular stereo mode?
All speakers. USB and wifi transmit everything digitally. The stereo interprets the audio.
@@edsgarage001 Thank you for your answer sir 🥇
No problem

I have heard that this unit has issues with when using the phone via Bluetooth. Have you experienced any of that issues? and now that you have had this for a few months, any problems?
If I'm the only one in the car, it works perfect about 98% of the time.
But if my wife is in the car as well, with her phone, then the reliability drops to about 90%
I think it's just wireless interference from her phone.
If it messes up, I just unplug it and plug it back in. Otherwise it's been fine
is there anything that can enable android auto wired or wireless on a head unit that doesn't have android auto at all ?
No, not really. It's actually more cost effective to just replace the head unit.
If your head unit runs Android, then you could try "head unit reloaded" which is an app you'd need to install on your head unit, assuming it ran Android on it.
@@edsgarage001 ok thanks i think i will have to replace it.
I have a question after it's connected on the Wi-Fi it says Smart box is that normal
Yep
I haven't noticed any difference... Thx for the comment!
Thank you for the comments... Did you ever get it working?
Great video. Just purchased a 2023 ford bronco sport badlands and was looking for some hands on info..you supplied it.

Well it needs to have Android auto to start with.
This adapter just takes normally wired Android Auto and makes it wireless.
@@edsgarage001 oh, so I can't use it for my 2015 pathfinder to make its screen have Android auto?
No,

For Vehicles that have "Always on" USB Ports, Consider getting an on/off switch like this one:
a.co/d/arZ22nE
Yeah...
Apparently it's a licensing issue. But you'd think they'd have figured that out by now
Yeah thanks and not sure if my comment got deleted.
I bought it from Amazon usa to ship to Delta BC but paid double the price you paid thru aliexpress 😭
It's possibly defective, but could be a compatibility issue with your phone as well.. tough to say honestly
I did find that with mine, I needed to keep my phone fairly close to it though to keep the connection stable.
What if you don't have android auto/carplay on your car, it's not gonna work?

No, you must have wired Android auto for this to function

Yeah, all wireless Android auto uses the Wi-Fi on your phone to connect 😕

If so, see if you can install "headunit reloaded". It's an app that mimics android auto on a headunit that just runs Android.
I'm having some connection issues. It worked flawlessly for a couple of months, but all of a sudden it won't connect. You need to start by deleting devices from the car and the phone. But you still need Bluetooth to be turned on.
Start over, watch the video closely and pause it at each step
My Android Auto continue to disconnect just like the cable before. Do you have any ideas?
Hmm ... Lots of possibilities.
First Switch back to wiring directly to rule out the wireless box.
After that, if it seems fine, go with a new wireless box (see description for new links)
It it's still messing up while wired, then could be your USB port on your car or the phone itself.

I don't know man, I'd need to be in front of it to see exactly what's going on.
Everything works for me except outgoing and incoming calls don't ring through out my car

I'm sorry I've never run into that.... So I'm not sure what that would be.
Are you referring to actual phone calls? The reason I ask is because I've seen that type of issue with Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger calls.

Does it work for Netflix and TH-cam
This is not an Android device on its own... It simply converts your wired Android Auto into wireless. That's all.
Do you how to reset this
Just got mine, didnt manage to get it to work with my Skoda Octavia. Works ok till I tap Android auto on my car screen and the simply disconnects
Damn... 😕.
See if you can get a refund. And maybe try a different model
