@cbq6286 Susan didn't even know Lisa was allergic. She only knew what Dr Hutton told her, and he believed in his delusional state that it was the antibiotics that killed Lisa, not the PCP pneumonia.
The baby probably had never been prescribed Amoxicillin before…until the symptoms of the respiratory infection worsened. An allergic reaction to medication, food, etc can happen at anytime, even if you have used the product beforehand without any problems.
The doctor should be prosecuted but i think thr way they treated the mother was wrong. She took her kid to a doctor. Its the doctors fault he encouraged misinformation. Its also wrong for them to exhume the childs body without the mothers consent. On the flip side, it doesnt seem to make sense that the doctor prescribed amoxicillin. Its typically prescribed for strep, which he did not say the baby had.
It's also the mother's for not going to a different doctor and getting correct information. She had the DUTY to get treatment for herself and children and not infect others.
@@justincase7848 they had no choice but to dig up and autopsy Lisa. They believed a criminal act took place - which it did - and considering Susan willingly passed on HIV to the chem teacher, it would've been easy to bypass her parental rights and get an exhumation order signed by a judge (without interrupting a poker game) to conduct the autopsy.
It’s really not, it was the quite literally the only way to prove her COD. It’s called exhumation and it’s not that uncommon in death investigations. The doctor would’ve gone on perpetuating false, harmful rhetoric and killed more people if Lisa hadn’t been exhumed.
Eh, not really. Sure you can take natural remedies for minor things, but not serious illnesses. You don't cure lung cancer with honey and lemon tea, for example. "Natural remedies," at best, can help with certain symptoms like a cough, sore throat, etc. They don't treat the root cause.
@@NotMykl not lied, but he was delusional. He BELIEVED that the COD was an allergic reaction. I had a huge facepalm moment when he mentioned Lisa's lungs were clear, then Warner's X-Ray revealed otherwise.
That’s gonna mess up your body. Pregnancy is a big thing and 4 consecutive pregnancies with little to no recovery time between each one would run anyone ragged. I would strongly reconsider.
Who knows if they'll ever find a cure for AIDS and HIV. And who knows if they'll everfind a single and concise name to refer to both of them ("HIV/AIDS" is too long, in my opinion).
Well, HIV and AIDS are terms for two separate things. HIV is just the virus that infects the body, which, if left untreated, only then becomes AIDS- the actual disease. And AIDS only develops years after an HIV infection if the infection is not detected and treated, so if provided with proper treatment in a timely manner, infected patients don't even have to worry about ever developing AIDS. The two terms are often grouped together as the same thing which is rather misleading.
HIV is the early stages when you test positive but it’s just chilling in your system and you have no signs of it. AIDS is when it turns aggressive and tanks your entire immune system in a hurry leaving you vulnerable of death to literally any infection at all. It’s given two names because of how drastically different the two stages are, and which stage you are currently in affects what treatments will work best for you.

Is that doctor m’benga from Star Trek as the taxi driver????
The doctor hired Annalise Keating as his lawyer!
Mom looks like they probably didn’t know that she was HIV positive.
I’ve seen this episode before on tv also that’s spooky I think my tv is listening to me because it’s playing an hiv medicine commercial 😱
0:55 - Dr. M'Benga, is that you?!
Man Gene Parmesan went off the deep end
The doctor should be prosecuted but i think thr way they treated the mother was wrong. She took her kid to a doctor. Its the doctors fault he encouraged misinformation.
Its also wrong for them to exhume the childs body without the mothers consent.
On the flip side, it doesnt seem to make sense that the doctor prescribed amoxicillin. Its typically prescribed for strep, which he did not say the baby had.
It's also the mother's for not going to a different doctor and getting correct information. She had the DUTY to get treatment for herself and children and not infect others.
Tbf, she had a responsibility to herself and her child to get a second opinion, not just go with the one who brushes it off as "no big deal."
Digging up the child is crazy work
It’s really not, it was the quite literally the only way to prove her COD. It’s called exhumation and it’s not that uncommon in death investigations. The doctor would’ve gone on perpetuating false, harmful rhetoric and killed more people if Lisa hadn’t been exhumed.
In this case it was necessary.
The mom is on OITNB as a bad mom in jail trying to care about her kid too little too late
RIP Martin Mull
And what about the other babies out there like this who don’t get help ?
If I remember correctly, it turns out that she actually had the HIV a lot longer than they ever realized.
And her son was positive his entire life without realising it.
Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease…..sometimes……
It's crazy how nobody mentioned Jessica Pimentel
Russell continues his malpractice in Law & Order
at least his malpractice in Two and a Half Men is basically selling weed and drinking cough syrup
What happened to the baby?
As we know so far she's alive, though the doctors believes she wouldn't make it to high school.
She lived through the rest of the episode, but it was likely she would die before making it to high school.
@@skyofthelivingdead though with advancements, she might still be alive.
RFK Jr. should have done a cameo for this episode.
Sure natural remedies are often best ... But not when someones immune system is shot
Eh, not really. Sure you can take natural remedies for minor things, but not serious illnesses. You don't cure lung cancer with honey and lemon tea, for example. "Natural remedies," at best, can help with certain symptoms like a cough, sore throat, etc. They don't treat the root cause.
The writers were really stretching on this one. Amoxicillin allergy causing death due to inflammation has nothing to do with untreated HIV.
I think the lawyers are stretching. Desperate to catch the doctor on any mishap.
@gorgan4714 that was the reported COD. Lisa died of PCP pneumonia but Dr Hutton in his deluded state attributed it to the antibiotics.
The doctor LIED on the death certificate. Not hard to figure out.
@@NotMykl not lied, but he was delusional. He BELIEVED that the COD was an allergic reaction. I had a huge facepalm moment when he mentioned Lisa's lungs were clear, then Warner's X-Ray revealed otherwise.
Mr. Kraft!!!
Will Rest
Bro Willard Kraft really went off the deep end after Sabrina graduated
not somthing to talk about
The baby looks kind of funny in the thumbnail
Oooo a HIV and AIDS episode on SVU
What kinda world do we live in
I can't believe this. I'm not going to say anything but, that baby is adorable. I'm only 24 but I'm planning to have 4 babies at the age of 28
That’s gonna mess up your body. Pregnancy is a big thing and 4 consecutive pregnancies with little to no recovery time between each one would run anyone ragged. I would strongly reconsider.
Please don't.
In some states they consider it premeditated
Ohwell
Which episode is this ?
that just state that you have it?!!
Omg martin mull got arrested in svu
What season and episode please
Am from gambia and we don't sound like that at all lol
There was one man that was cured but that was only a one in a million chances case. Timothy Ray Brown.
They're different things though.
Hiv positive just means you got theq virus. Aids is when you're actually sick.
HIV becomes AIDS when your white blood cell count falls below a certain number.
