Ferdinand Francis If you look hard enough you can see what I assume to be the traction motor behind the wheel, and what we see in front of the wheel is the bearing housing, along with the brake shoe and brake rotor, built into the front of the wheel.
I know about what Desiro can use on unprepared track, especially Desiro RUS for Russia, but... In Russia use such trains on so bad tracks stupidly restricted, and we don't have it...

I thought that at first. But it turns out that the video is showing the outboard side of this wheel, not the inboard flanged-side of the wheel.
